Update your location so that everyone knows your location who are new to reading this.
As far as the roof, I watched a crew do a Barn roof a couple of days ago with a Tele-Handler also. I live in the barn and yes its roof is pretty step to!

Sorry about that, location has been updated

So it's been a while since I've posted on here. Major milestone today as I have 3 of my 6 LED high bays installed. I ran out of chain to hang the other three.5574cfe5c6b68acd9315c58fbfab597c.jpg69f5b79b3d1f4a29b8d8604c12892232.jpg68f3ef0fdead6f339e486771b59ee878.jpg

Been lurking on this site for a long time. Had to use my first post to compliment your barn. We live in the same town and I admire it every time I drive by. It's exactly what I plan right after my wife gets her new kitchen this winter!

Sweet that a 445 or 455 with the blower? I ran a 455 and 47 last season. Worked great. Then I sold it and bought a 2320 and 54 blower, still feeling out how I like it for snow. Lot better loader tractor for sure.

What a beautiful shed full of lots of fun goodies !!

The attic rafters have given me a few ideas for my own shop build one day. Is the whole area heated or will it be heated sometime ??

I am envious of that 504 .... If you weren't so far away I'd try to pry it out of your hands. I've been looking for a 504 with a narrow front for some time now that isn't all rotted out. It would have a good home here running my grinder mixer if you want to send it my way :bounce:

Haha.. I'm pretty partial to my 504. I rebuilt it from pieces. I have a 2nd 504 that is in the process of getting stretched and has a 221 6 cyl in it. Also have a 504D utility

Very nice. When I look at a build like this it makes me wonder if I should have gone stick built instead of post frame. Looks much easier to finish the inside.

I think the stick built is much easier to finish and I think it's actually less expensive to frame. I also wanted clear span and not sure if that is doable with post frame

I'm not quite sure about the heat yet. I'm honestly thinking about adding a 24x40 addition on the back wall that will actually be the heated work shop and the main barn lower floor will be non heated storage and the main barn 2nd floor will be heated as my carpenter shop.

Exactly!! But don't be fooled by the big gap between the C153 4 cyl and the radiator. A 6 cyl won't fit in the 504 rails. But the 460 frame rails bolt right onto the 504 bell housing.

Thought those were probably 460 rails. Should be a neat combo when finished, please be sure to post pics! Btw, I've got a spare 606 utility white hood side panel. Its the LH side, with the breather louvres in it. Its been tucked away in a shed for a long time, "just in case". Don't believe I will ever actually need it, though. PM me if you are interested.

Thank you, I enjoy seeing them under there. I have a scout 800 in WY that will be coming home after the first of the year to add to my collection.

Post some pics of the 800 when you get it home if you would please.

What are the details on your smaller flatbed? I'm looking for a mid 60's IH or Chevy flatbed to haul some smaller stuff on the farm.

That is a 67 1200B originally a pickup. I bought it from the original owner, whose brother was the IH truck dealer. He used it in his paving business till he sold the business in 2003. He then put a little platform dump on it and I purchased it in 2013 from him. The R185 and the 1600 Loadstar also came from the same local dealership.

Might have missed it but which LED high bays did you go with? Looks nice and bright

6 of these in a 40x60 and the ceiling height is 13-6.
Very happy so far

The barn is officially sided, lots of help and finished yesterday in 55 degree weather, not bad for February 19th.

Sweet! Painting, staining, letting nature do its work?

Do you plan to use the second story doors on the front with the trolley track sticking out like the old barns did with the hay claw or is it just for looks?

Two thirds (16x40)of the 2nd story is my carpenter shop, the other third (16x20) is my man cave...

Going to have a light gray solid stain when it warms up.

Right now I've just got a block and tackle setup to hang my deer

I'm looking for ideas or suggestions as to what to put on the barn siding for a sealer or finish. I'm thinking of a clear sealer or perhaps a very light solid grey stain. any thoughts as to brand and application methods?
