And now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I spent the morning staining the 1x4 trim material. Then I moved my clock/shop light back to the shop. It has been in the garage so Mrs Michael B can see her way to the car. We have been looking for a light to go in the garage for a while and Wednesday 08E02BE0-B25C-4A85-8638-C91EB70D3145.jpeg255F7DD8-FCA5-4651-AD6F-8443B508D0F6.jpeg0EB6FB3A-8CE1-4B89-80F8-D3DE4B79EEAF.jpeg2CF66FB8-F774-4337-8C77-256EA828FCA8.jpegBD3A4D91-8628-4686-B7F4-F70BB43834B8.jpegshe finally found one.

After lunch I installed the blocking for the mezzanine deck. I was not looking forward to this task but it wasn’t too difficult at all.

I think I forgot to post a picture of the walk through door after trimming it out. I am not certain if I want to leave it as is or trim it to match the room. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I started the day by changing oil in my wife’s Subaru. This would be the first time I used the lift for a vehicle.

Then I worked on decking. I’m about 75% through this task. Fortunately I don’t have to carry anymore full sheets upstairs. I left the edges open until I have the posts installed for what will suffice as a hand rail on the front of the mezzanine.

I was properly supervised by Bob.

I finished installing sheet metal in the mezzanine today. Now all shop walls are officially covered! I had just enough to complete the job. The picture of red metal in the floor is all that remains of my on hand supply.

Wow ! Good thing you didn't screw up any cuts along the way. The shop is looking good.

Curious, how is the headroom going up the stairs? Cannot figure from the pictures.

There is a code requirement for that headroom...but you can get by with less unless the inspector is an a@# h%*.

I hope you are OK!

Thanks John! I made one wrong cut while working on the mezzanine. I did have to use the dregs on the last wall, so it doesn’t look as nice as the rest of the room. But it is a storage area. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Bruce the only tight spot is going under the beam. That clearance is recommended to be 81 1/2”. I have about 79”. I’m 5’8” and duck going under the beam as a matter of reflex. I don’t have any inspections to worry about at this stage of construction. I received my CO last December.
