This weekend, I decided that I needed to get some stuff done before they started insulation and drywall, so it was a busy day on Saturday.
I ended up running speaker wire all through out the garage for music and surround sound for the sitting area. In the center bay in the front, I am going to put two speakers kinda toward the back by the I beam, since that is where you would be working on a car. Then, in the rest of the bays, I ran one single speaker in the center of each area. With the space being all open, I don't think I needed too many.
I also ran CAT 5 cable to where the projector is going to hang and put a box in to run a HDMI cable for it as well. Just for the heck of it, I also ran a short HDMI cable up the wall, just in case the Projector thing does not work out with all the light that will be in the garage. That way I can put a flat screen on the wall and have a HDMI outlet there as well. I have all the CAT 5 cable running the space above the bathroom, along with a cable outlet, so that I can put my cable modem and router up there. The other CAT 5 cable will be a plug by the work area on the back wall, just to have, even though I will have wireless internet, you can never have enough CAT 5 outlets.
Here a couple of pics of the stuff I did this weekend, kinda hard to tell what it all is, but in the end, you all will see............
Here the main part of it all, 4 gang plug with all the speaker wires, CAT 5 and HDMI cable spot.
The short cable for the flat screen IF I have to go that route.
CAT 5 cable outlet where the work bench will be.
All the cable and speaker wire ran through the soffit next to the gas line with the duct work, making sure the wires are well away from the power wires running through there too.
Here is the where the cable moden and router will be located:
Last but not least, all the stuff for the projector, CAT 5 cable, the open spot is where a HDMI cable will be ran, I still have to buy that, since it is a 30ft run, and the last is the power.
I also ran a cable wire upstairs that will be used once that space get finished and I don't think I will need and CAT 5 up there, since the wireless route will be able to take care of any computer that may end up there.
I think I got it all, I have been STRESSING like crazy all week, try to figure out what all I need to run and where to put it, 'cause once the drywall is up, it is over, well not really if you want to cut it open and redo it, which I do not want to have to do.
If you guys can think of anything else I would need to do, let me know, I have till the end of this week to put stuff in the walls, before the insulation and drywall gets here.
Till next time and thanks for reading.................
