Lets see your Shop Audio!

As much as I love my tools, and toys in my shop... I need some serious audio while I'm working on stuff.

Here's my rig, still a work in progress but nearly complete:

That Juke box is WAY too nice for any shop I would be working in...that is sweet.

I want to build an ammo can like that for when I'm on the trail with my Jeep! I'd like to do mine Blue Tooth

The ammo can is pretty easy. A $20 amp board from www.parts-express.com some 4" co-ax speakers, 12V battery from a deer feeder, 12V plug in transformer and a switch.

I've run it all day before and not even come close to running the battery down.

I run a Logitech Z680 computer system. It's a 5.1 system, but I'm only running 3 speakers and the sub. Wife hates it cause the bass is so loud. She doesn't know that I'm piecing together a bigger setup for the next house

Klipsch floor speakers, single 8" woofer with 8" horn, i didn't have room for in the house when i moved in. TV in the bottom left, against the fridge is a 42" plasma I picked up for a song today.

I'll take pictures later, mine is an old Pioneer A400 amp, some big Wharfedale speakers, an old Philips portable CD player and my ancient Sony HD walkman. Looking to add a DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) tuner sometime soon.

Fisher RS2010 - Studio Standard receiver with Electro Voice Interface B and EPI / Epicure 500 speakers. Late 70-'s / early 80's analog.

Fisher is under the weather currently, so I'm using a more modern Onkyo receiver at the moment..

Has anyone heard the sound on these Bluetooth Marshall speakers? I went shopping the other day, and the sound was amazing; so was the price $400...more than what I wanted to spend, but decided it wasn't worth paying $200 for another Bluetooth speaker as the sound quality was very noticeably different.

We got some Sonos stuff for Christmas for the house, only the Play 1 and the sound is incredible from such a small unit.

Revamping my shop currently, so no photos, but I have been running the following:

Onkyo TX-905 Receiver
Onkyo Integra M-504 Amp
Magnavox CDB-492 CD Player
Fisher CR-W911 Cassette
Samsung DVD-909
JBL HLS-810 Bookshelves F & R
Samsung HP-T5054 flat Plasma TV

That said, I may make some upgrades as finances permit once the shop interior overhaul is completed... whenever that is.

Well I do this for a living so I may be cheating....but 47 inch flat panel. 8 inch in wall speakers powered by a 100 watt in wall amp hidden behind the TV and an Apple TV & Tivo for music via airplay and TV, Netflix, YouTube, etc. all controlled via phone, remote or iPad.

I've been debating what kind of stereo I want in my garage. I have a boom box in there now, but want something i can enjoy while I work on the car or misc projects. Bookshelves with good bass response for rock and able to withstand the environment are what I'm having trouble finding. The receiver is easy, an old Sony digital from early 90s or, if i can find one cheap enough, a vintage receiver with manual tuning and signal strength sweep gauge. I just love the look of those.

What do you guys rock out to?

A 15 year old Onkyo and equally as old Acoustic Research towers hanging on the wall. I have an adapter cable to plug into my phone and listen to either what I have or Pandora. Need to add a couple of outdoor speakers for the backyard parties.

I use an apa150, its 75x2 and has plenty of power to drown out my compressor, I simply hook my phone into a 3.5mm x rca adapter and log into pandora or play my imusic stuff...

Now if you don't want to spend that much you can go to wave crest audio and they have the hvl1's {great for the money}, then use a cheap amp like a lepai 2020 on amazon for $25, it will work, my son has that setup in his bedroom and it is impressive for under $250...

Denon surround receiver with HD Radio. Paradigm CC350 center, Paradigm Titan fronts and surrounds, a pair of Yamaha YST-160 powered subwoofers.

If you listen to the radio, HD radio is well worth it as it delivers close to CD sound quality. With a large space like a garage/workshop it is very important to have speakers in each corner in my experience. With speakers only at one end, I find the volume has to be cranked too much to get adequate volume at the far end, which makes them way too loud when you go by where they are.

I'm using an old pioneer reciver with MP3 hook ups for phone or iPod,it's also hooked to the whole house stereo so I can play the same music everywhere.
I have a pair of ceiling speakers(off amazon) that look real clean in my finished garage,but I also had a pair of yamaha book shelf speakers I hooked up to channel B. Just for that little extra. Sounds good in my 3 car tandem.

Forgot to add the 15yr old klipsch 8" sub up on a shelf buried behind a Makita table saw and an ice chest.

I tossed up two quick shelves for mine to get it out of the way. Ive got a matching Kenwood receiver and 6 disc changer, Bose speakers ringing the garage, and a cheap Sony sub. Feeding the sound is either the disc changer, my 2nd gen iMac w/~12k songs, the 32" flatscreen/Roku3, or my iPhone. I purposely stuck the tv on top of the Fastenal bins as that was a major dumping spot for random ****, the tv discourages that habit.

For those curious, the chunk of brown keg at left opens up to be a mini-bar.

Exactly my setup! Plus a 5-disc JVC CD changer that is a POS.

What I really want is a component to play MP3's off a flash drive. Can't find one anywhere. CD players are a poor choice in the heat/dust around here, and radio goes steadily downhill.

I'm in the music business and come from a different direction. My new shop is 28 by 50 inside with a 28 x 31 and 28 x 13 spsce. I plan 4 10 inch 2 way speakers IN the large space and 2 speakers in the smaller room. Several ways to do that but I'll probably use a Peavey IPC 2000 at 2 ohms. That will drive six 8 ohm cabinets. That with a small mixer etc, and you're in business.
