Made up some brackets today to facilitate hanging up some of the garden items I've been making in recent times.

Don't know how I lived without a brake before, soooo much easier.

If you remember the garden shelving and vertical planters I made a while back, here they are finally mounted. Wifie was able to plant out the terracotta pots today with some new succulents she was recently gifted. That thread of grass will be sorted soon, it photo bombed there

There is some tie wire through the bottom of each pot so that it does not blow around and fall. It had come over all overcast by the time I took a picture, was nice in the earlier sun.

There are still 3 more of the timber vertical planters growing out, so they will hang in this area soon too, it's a spot away from hot afternoon sun with some shading from our big olive tree.

It's Tetris Time...

Have been doing some tidying up done during the evenings this week (will show the before picture at the end of this little process perhaps )

I've been trying to get to the point where I can build an organiser cabinet to suit these suckers as I’m sick of pulling them out from down in the corner base cabinet. Anyway these won’t be enough now and it appears that the big Green Box store has changed brands/models and the now exact looking unit has grey tabs instead of the orange. One of these has a broken corner too somehow. I figure I’m going to make a rack to hold 20 in two stacks of 10. Hopefully that sorts all my hardware storage for the time being. We’ll see…

Ended up moving this afternoon/evening the long overhead cabinets across onto the west wall. Originally I was going to make new overheads for this wall and a corner cabinet going back around the corner.

There is about 5" between the door frame and the end of the cabinets there so I'll be able to use that space for perhaps some rattle can storage.

Now I’m left with this north wall bench area. I’ve mocked up the screens (have just removed the shelf the existing screen was on and added the second screen to facilitate some day job projects I need to work on) and will make up a frame to encase the small parts organisers etc hopefully tomorrow. Once that is done I can continue down that bench making the tray holder cabinet (I’m going to sit it on the benchtop so wall mounted weight won’t be an issue).

From there I can work on some basic overhead cabinets/shelving here. The existing 2 door will slide to it’s left about 9”.

Hmmm, mine has a pin to hold it in the down position, which could be locked. I don't see the hole for a pin in yours, I'll get a picture if you like. Those knives will trim fingers off easily. You might make a wooden yoke to choke the shear open and lock it in place.

Got a little further with the reorganization today.

The workstation plinth came up pretty good, happy with how it turned out. I might use some of the old fence railings I have to make a thin top for it.

Ignore all the cords and **** in the middle, it will get tided up in due course. Bit hard to see in the picture but the little cubby in the middle is where the data/power points are.

Also got started on the organizer cabinet. Did a run to the hardware to look for the extra caddy’s I needed, but found that the current model of what I have is more square rather than rounded (which I prefer). So then of course they only had 8 on the shelf and I need 24 (originally was going for 2 stacks of 10, but with the measurements I can go 2 stacks of 12 and the top of the cabinet will be the base for the overhead storage to sit on) so I nipped a bit further into town to the other green box store and alas they only had 8 also. So I’ve got 16 of the 24 needed. There is another store a bit further away and wifie has to go that way tomorrow so she may be able to call in for me and see what they have left.

I was going to use some old framing brace I have left to do the angle mounts for each tray, but tested tonight and it’s not going to work very well. So i’ll have to get some aluminium angle to cut the mounts. That’s going to be 12 lineal meters.

Thanks guys, if only I could manage to get a 68.5mm spacer cut I might be able to finish installing the rails and tick the organiser rack off. Firing up the table saw at night is a bit much, will try's to do a cut in the morning and have a crack again tomorrow night.

It's cleaner than it was when I started. The mess is just 180 degrees out of frame at the moment I did do a before pic which I might share at the end of this little tetris session.

Hopefully a couple of computer related parts arrive tomorrow and I can see if the old apple screens will both run together - they are older but different models and there are some quirks with the compatability of the old lightning and mini display port connections. Anyway will see what happens.

Drives, thanks for popping in. No worries with the photos, I think I'll end up down another rabbit hole in that thread, will be sure to check it out - so many good ideas here, just not enough time...

We do have a misting kit to hang over that area of vertical garden and will set the timer accordingly. I'll mention the glazed pots to wifie. I'm sure some will update over time (although I have wire tying them in place to prevent them being blown off). We chose that fence line as it's on the western side of the yard, and will be protected from the hot afternoon summer sun we get.

Finally got this little project done tonight. Cut a correct width spacer before heading to the office this morning and got it finished off tonight.

Very happy with it, it's going to be a time saver for sure. I think everyone should make one of these for their shop.

Lol, there is some amounts of label printing in my future RM. I actually like this model tray (same brand/size as before) better now that I've played with them - it's a bit more refined.

Kirk, I hear you - I was only barely looking in here between end of November and about March. Once you get behind it takes forever to get caught up again.

We can make you one on castors. Lots of labeling to do. Just on the benches now there are 24 organizer trays, 44 trays in the grey plastic organizers, and 65 trays in the black/metal small parts organizers. Wow, that's the first time I've counted that.

Started on a small project tonight (more about it tomorrow'ish). Same as the pencil cases I made before just a bit deeper.

And started on this cupboard, this has been the hardware cupboard since I setup this area so is a pain to get out what I need. The new trays will really help with this (I hope ). It's about 2' deep into that back corner.

The wooden pencil cases I made around Xmas time happened to be the correct dimension length and width wise to suit the doterra essential oils that wifie is into (they are actually pretty good and great to use in a water diffuser at night). So for Mother's Day I just made a couple a bit deeper to accommodate the height of the vials.

6mm marine ply scrap that I rescued from the office skip, and a few coats of water based polyurethane.

I'm not much on snake oil, but my wife was getting unable to walk even with her walker, knees popping loudly. Doctors offered no help. Essential oils relieve the popping and makes her mobile. Price is not an issue.

I use the doterra "ice blue" cream/ointment on my back from time to time and it works a treat. We've have good success with the oils in the vaporizers - especially for the kids when they get the sniffles or can't get to sleep.

All, knocked this out today. Used some old decking board offcuts that I've had under the house for probably 10 years. And a bit of pegboard offcut.

The boards are 22mm thick, so had I gone 1/2" ply or similar I should have been able to get a neat 4 cans wide I think. Might do another one dedicated to spray can storage later on and keep this one for lube cans etc. (and no the glitter cans are not mine)

Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry it's been a while since last updates. Life and work and all that...I've been slowly trying to get caught up on my subscribed threads again.

It's starting to get a spring feeling in the weather already, so have the garage door up and been starting to get a bit of tidy up done. If I can get all the horizontal surface areas back to normal after this weekend I'll be happy as the garage has pretty much reverted to a dumping ground over the last couple of months.

I have surplus to my needs a Black & Decker 1600W heat gun if anyone can use it. It's brand new in the case but has been sitting in a shed for several years, I've just wiped the dust off the case and given it a quick test run. PM me your address if interested and I'll pop it in the post.

Have had a couple of scores that were managed though my BIL. Basically a gentleman who was known through my family passed away and his shed had to be emptied out as his wife (in her 80's) was selling the property and moving on.

We were able to save and old Aussie made (HR Cousens Castle Hill Sydney) table saw, bench drill and radial arm saw and a second Ryobi radial arm saw. I believe the gentleman had used these to make a number of church pews along with several buildings in the area he lived including a nursing home back in the day.

So basically we saved these items from going to the dumpster, the gentleman's son was not interested. All equipment works it just needs a bit of TLC restoration. The old radial arm saw sounds so quiet and smooth they don't make them like that anymore for sure. Dad and I are thinking of setting up a 20' shipping container as a small wood shop on his property (the sheds are all full lol). Pics at a later date.

Ok back to getting some jobs done.

I see the one wall needs some painting in the future. Might I suggest trading out your paint duties with Gerard’s need for labels?
I like the vise brake. Used my last weekend. Can you post a pic of the blue brake and how it’s mounted? I’d like to get a shear like that.
