Looking to pick up the 44" top box tomorrow. Does anybody have a coupon?

Same here...looking for the top box coupon that's not the inside track one. I have a feeling they're going to want my inside track info, which of course I am not a member.

Oh, and I don't have any way to scan it, but the $359 coupon is in Family Handyman magazine this month.

For those of you with these tool boxes how to you keep the white paper and clear plastic on the drawer covers from sliding around? I like the look of it but it keeps moving.

I never put them on, I use my Brother P-Touch label maker to ID the drawers. If you don't have one, I highly recommend one. The TZ tape will withstand the rigors of the garage and you can even get it with a clear background and black lettering. Looks factory with that setup.

Scored the top box for 259 today with that coupon. Not a member of inside track and they never asked for it. Nice deal, loving this box so far.

I have a label brother label maker. I was planning on putting labels on top of the drawer lip.

a dab of silicone on each end should fix this.

Genius.

Stopped by the Stockton, CA HF store over the weekend to study this box as a planned bench set-up. I was hoping to get two of these and a 26" all side by side, but I noticed that the smaller cabinet doesn't match the 44 (which also doesn't quite match the 56", although it only appears to be a simple trim strip on the ends that could be removed on the 56).

Does anybody know if they have a smaller cabinet that matches the 44? Dimensionally it would work, but the drawer pulls are styled differently and it would be nice to have a matching bank.

First time poster, here. I have been researching tool chests and have come to the determination that the HF 44" is probably what I want.

Question for you guys. When you go down to HF how do you take delivery? I have an F-150. Do they put in your truck for you? How do you get it off your truck when you are home? Just curious how you managed this.

They'll load it into your truck with a hydraulic hand cart most likely. When I got it home I just setup a couple wood ramps on the back of the truck and slid it down with the help of a couple friends.

They loaded it on my truck with a forklift. I laid it down on its back for the drive home- no problems with that for me.

Once I got home, I shimmied it up to the lip of the tailgate, took off the bottom part of the "crate", and slid it down a pair of ATV ramps while on a sheet of cardboard. Once it was slid down to the floor, I simply propped it up onto its wheels and took off the rest of the packaging.

I think I've mentioned this in this thread, but I'm not positive. The drawers are easily removable and make the cabinet pretty light (in comparison to with drawers) and one person can handle it.

As others said, they'll put it in your truck. As I didn't live very far away, I left it upright and took it easy on the turns, no problems.

To get my first one down, I had it upright like I said and simply used a strap and my engine hoist to lift it up. Drove the truck out and let it down onto the ground. No issues or racking.

To get my second one down, I took two ramps and put it on a 2 wheeler (the blue HF one with ~8" pneumatic tires) and slowly brought it down with one person on the bottom end keeping a bit of upward pressure on it.

That's too bad. For a scenario like yours, it wouldn't hurt to unbox them in the parking lot to know for certain they are square.

Not sure what the "assembly" is that a few of you have mentioned. Both of mine were fully assembled including the wheels. I even attempted to tighten the one I left the wheels on and they were already as tight as I felt they needed to be.

my top & bottom are both glossy, so not that old. In fact I got the top last month. Both were fully assembled except for the handle (or i moved the handle to the other side, I forget now)

I had the HF bottom box but returned it. Read the fine print and you'll see the drawers can't handle much weight. Additionally the cheap rubber drawer latches made it initially impossible to open the drawers - so much so that I had to remove them defeating the purpose...too much hassle to save a few dollars.

I found some new sears grip latch ball bearing boxes on CL and have been happy since.

Congrats on finding the Craftsman boxes on CL, but I don't think you got quite the box you thought you got. Agreed the rubber drawer latches aren't great, but I haven't had any problem with them. After a few open/close cycles they work just fine. One guy on here even removed them for nice, smooth operation.

As for the drawer capacity, the HF holds more! The short drawers can hold 60 lb of stuff. The tall drawers hold 74 lb. The top drawer can take 80 lb. The comparable Craftsman unit (which lists for $950, on sale for $776 right now, vs $350 for HF), has a limit of 50 lb per drawer and maximum of 1000 lb total versus 2600+ lb for the HF. So I don't think you got the better deal.
