So...I have two penny grills in my cart. Wonder if I'll make it out of store with them for pennies...

Could cut the barcode out to make them easier to scan. Then if the question/ask for your receipt, make sure you cover the price when you show it to them.

Edit, good work.

Wow. That was easy and very pleasurable.

Decided to head to CS and asked for MOD. Told him I had two grills that would ring up as a penny and how he wanted to handle.

He scanned them thinking I was bullshitting and when he saw they were ask described he cut out the barcodes and said have a great day. Also thanked me for not making a scene at the registers.

That is pretty awesome. That was a good approach but could have gone completely different if you had gotten a bad manager.

If you are local we should cooridinate something.. but the polk stores seem to be locked down.. like i said the stuff is on craigslist before SPN even post it on here.

You guys may just be on a different clearance "schedule" as we are. Not all stores drop at the exact same times. You guys may be 1 week ahead of us on some items while you are 2 weeks behind on others. If you aren't actively watching the stores weekly or a couple times a week, it's hard to tell when the price drops actually are. You can't expect to go find stuff after SPN posts when you are in a completely different region IMO. Maybe it will work sometimes, but others it won't. If you were in New England and you noticed things showing up on CL before SPN posted then maybe but not being in Florida.

Totally agree that it could've gone badly but I didn't need a new grill, was time strapped and quite frankly was tired of being fed none sense from employees.

I'll give one to a coworker and the other to family.

Two more nailers, an anti-fatigue mat for my sister-in-law, plus 3 wrench sets for a penny. First penny items I've found at my local store two miles away.

The wrenches were up above with an MET cart right below. I found them because of this - 61914b644d09402031fe5828ab80750d.jpg

The MET team was on an aisle two rows down chatting. Grabbed the yellow ladder and grabbed them. They were taped up in a box with SKU on it. When going through SCO I had the attendant remove the security tag from one nailer, rang up the 3 wrench sets while she did that, swapped her for the other nailer, scanned the first one twice, paid and left. Attendant had no knowledge of the penny items.

Ventured all the way down to Quincy? That store puzzles me because everytime I search on HD.com they have the most inventory of the item I am looking at.

Oops. Quincy, MA. They tried to claim it was store use, but it was tagged.
Missing the tubes, but whatever

I have been to 4 HD's today, my first one led me to other stores that listed one in inventory (Paslode Nailer for $100) needless to say, I have not accomplished anything except driving the dog all around town today, I think he had fun??

P.S I did find out that the display:
A) is not HD merchandise, cant sell
B) is not a working model

I stay around the philly stores, and a few other locations that have been good to me down south.

I forget which one I was in, Burlington?, saw a garage door opener for the 42.** price but I didn't take it.

I'm sitting on about a million saw blades and a temp2o I can't cut loose. Shoot me a pm if you need anything specific ill try to look for you.

Cut the barcode off. Waited til the **** was flirting with a hot mom and did the deed. Helps to buy something else small you need to hide your doings

By the way. This one was on the ground with the penny tag on it. There was one more in the racks I'll go back for another day. If I can snag enough of these ill be able to buy a good grill lol

I think that depends on the item and most definitely depends on the store.

Oh, I was just quoting what the Mgr told me about the nailers, both pneumatic and paslode ect, he said none of the displays were working models, they are stolen to much?

Full price in the Northeast.

Not so. They are on clearance but the two stores I was in the workers didn't know till I had them scan the sku. Buddy of mine's son works for HD and he told me what stores might still have one. I called Tewksbury store last nite and they had one. I paid for it with cc and I picked it up this AM. $106.25 with tax.

I stand corrected. Must be only select stores clearancing them then. Similar to the CS-x90 chainsaws.

For folks that are picking up the Brinkmann penny grill, make sure it has the green sticker on the box which means it has the new and updated crossover channel.

This model failed a CustomerReports safety test miserably due to explosion risk :yikes:

So my HD still has 2 bostitch F28WW SKU 377457 according to the computer. It said $217.00 price. I saw one on the shelf. Should this be a penny if I go to self checkout?

If computer said 217 then SCO will be 217. FWIW this model is still on the last clearance price (20 something) in my local store and has been for months...but none in stock.

So who can help me complete my door knob set? I've got either the Schlage Merano Satin Nickel Century collection door levers, or the Schlage Wakefield Siena aged bronze collection knobs that I'm needing to finish out.

I need the following -
1 753734 Entry handle set
5 752257 knobs or 689367 levers
5 689334 levers
1 1000981741 handle and lock set or this link
1 this link or that link

Shoot me a PM. I've got a few home depot things I could possibly trade with you.

Note: 5 of those Schlage door knobs and 1 of those front door lock sets are part of one of the sets I'm trying to complete.

Got my first penny deals today. 2 8" blades and a 10" blade. System said there were none in stock but I went to take a look just in case and was excited to find the 10" then when I found the two 8" i really got a rush haha! I went to SCO with a $20 bill in my jacket pocket ready to put in the machine. No need to be sneaky, the associate manning the SCO was off in lala land.

Went back in and got a framing nailer for $75. systen said there was one in stock and I couldn't find it so I asked a lady for help. She told me they were all gone that some guy came in that morning and bought three. Well we ended up finding one up in the rafters. She got it down for me, opened it up to make sure it wasn't a used return or something, and then she walked me up front and told the checker to give me $25 off! Gun was brand new unused and she still have me the discount.

So can you take a picture of a barcode, then just scan your phone at the sco to price check items? I've never tried it but wondering if it works..

OK......about these brinkmann grills.

I've located 7 of them on penny and another local store that has them at 129 still.
My buddy went to pick one up at the Woodridge, IL store ( last one ) he went to check out and the screen at sco had a warning saying item recalled hand item to attendant. So he cut his losses and walked out.

After I got off the phone with him I hit up another local store that has some. I get to sco and same thing happens. I got the warning on the screen and the girl just said let me get a manager. I delt with the manager and she said they were dropping Brinkmann because they went out of business.....yada yada and I said if they are going out of business and recalled why is all your brinkmann stuff on sale? I only came to this location because it was closer to my house than the location by my work that had them ( thinking on my toes knowing they were a penny ) they were marked down to 43.03 on clearance.

She then entered that price into the computer and sold it to me at that price allowing me to take that "recalled" item. I'm hitting up another store in a little while to try and get 3 more. I'll keep you posted.
