Re: Home Depot Clearance Thread 2015

Glad you were able to find them! Two 52s is a lot of tool storage. :)

Meant to write back yesterday but 115 was a no go. Searched everywhere. Didn't see an E36 in the parking lot either :)

Just leaving HD with no compressor. Was told it wasn't on sale.
Looks to me that is the older model but with the new tag. It even says 135psi on the compressor. I would find the model number on the compressor it should be on the side. If its C301H then tell them it is priced wrong.

Take a look at that hang tag again.

Model on tag (C301H) does not match price tag (bottom left C302H). Possible that they priced it wrong?

I dont think anyone has pinned down which/what model exactly is on clearance. People have bought both models from what I've seen.

Edit: swedish88 had same thought but is quicker on the keys

Yea well, she asked why I thought it was on sale. I told her "a buddy of mine" bought one and it was on sale. She said yea, I know which one you're talking about and it's not that one.

The C301H is definitely on clearance and the C302H is not. Some has mentined though that the same tag is being used so if the price sticker is not on it it shows the 723883 sku that is how people are getting the C302H for the clearance price. So it looks like they put the new model price rag on the old model only 1 way to be sure.

If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather go with either a North Star that has a 4 year warranty or an IR or Quincy. I guess I can do without the 30 gallon capacity which is what I liked.

Anyone get one of the EGO trimmers and actually use it?

My gas trimmer is on the fritz and was pondering keeping the EGO I picked up instead of flipping it.

Is the 20 Gal compressor worth bothering with?

based on the specs, neither the 20 nor the 30 are technically 'worth it' imo, unless you have ample space. theyre huge for light use and undersized for heavy use. but they are ~75% off though... the husky silent 4.5 or 4.6 (?)gallon comrpessor was probably the most useful, if not that dewalt silent one. im on the fence which of those two i want to keep. the dewalt just fits in a nice little space i have to tuck it away in on my covered patio (not sure if thats going to be a horrible idea, it would never get wet but the humidity and winter cold will likely take its toll). the husky is too tall to keep in my spot on the covered patio, but it is an aluminum tank. the tank on the dewalt is tiny and steel... i only plan to use it to clean guns, move it around for portable use, etc so the specs arent an issue

Yes, I have kept one to go with the EGO mower I picked up off of CL for $100. It works great, quiet and powerful. Compared to my Ryobi 40v string trimmer, I definitely like it better.

They were paid for.
It is normal operating procedure to hold for pickup.
They should have zeroed out the stock in the computer.
I am the consumer from hell, I will be getting compensated.

yeah they will just refund you purchase price.. good luck tho.

you could just rent a $50/mo storage unit for a month and leave them there. you lost like $500 letting hd hold them. so whats $50, gas, and muscle in the scheme of things..

Just leaving HD with no compressor. Was told it wasn't on sale.

two ways:
the sale sku is on picture 2. if you were to correctly orient the hangtag it will be in the top right underneath the zip tie. its illegible in the picture, but its there. alternatively, peel the sticker in picture 1 to reveal the correct sku for clearance purposes printed on the hangtag as well

(edit) potential 3rd way:
the husky manual pictured in picture 2 will also show the clearance sku

Sounds like that one gallon Senco would be great for you. I love mine. It is all I want to use. I use it for all kinds of stuff.

Getting very annoyed looking for things like the DeWalt drill sets on clearance and the PCA says 4 on hand but they are nowhere to be seen.

I have the space for a 20 or 30 gallon. My trusty 4 gallon Craftsman is getting a little tired of cycling a whole bunch to keep up with my nailers and blow gun.

The ones I found were nowhere near the tool corral. Not quite sure why they ended up where they did but they've been there for a few months, and never got moved even during the stores full inventory.

I kind of think the workers assumed they were just the empty case, if they just looked from the ground it was hard to tell it was a whole tool set.

I feel your pain. The inventory stated there are 20, 22, and 28 of various set of dewalt drill sets. CSR keeps stating the inventory is wrong!:shocking: over sixty sets off inventory.

I'd say inventory on tool sets is off a lot.

The small percentage I am in a store vs how long they are open, even paying attention at the registers, and just this year I've seen two people stealing. One stole a huge 499.00 ridgid set the other stole three dewalt sets.

Both times the clerk could care less and the mgr could care less when I told them.

You're definitely right. Seen people walking out with stuff as well. I guess that's the only thing that trumps a penny deal. haha

hmm i bet you are missing them if it shows 4 of a three piece set... fwiw, i was never able to locate a 2 piece set (the ones that dont have the flashlight), and the one store did claim to have a whole bunch of them.

is it a 3 piece set youre after? the 3 piece sets and the larger set thats $200 come in a black case and with the way the cases are made they would have to use a manual sku tag to get the sku to face outward when its up on the shelf. they are almost impossible to see from the ground bc of this... but thats also a key to you: a black box with yellow dewalt cover that you cant see the sku on is probably exactly what youre after.

i have had multiple stores show 1 of the $200 set but no dice on those, unless they were hiding up with the nailers which also feature a large black case with difficult to see sku tags. thats the only place i didnt check.

when you find 4 do no hesitate to buy them all if thats your intent bc the employee will scoop them up immediately. happened both times when i had them pulled down. i left a bunch of brushed 3 pieces at both stores and employees swarmed.

Kept one for my self and used it yesterday. Power seems fine and the bump feed worked properly on it too.

I checked the PCA at a local store today and found they had 1 of the Ridgid 5700 generators @ $299. After looking high and low with no success, I finally found it right next to the pro checkout register with a yellow sticker for $499. I had the guy at the register scan it, and when it came up $299 I pulled out $300 cash and said "sold!"

There was also an unboxed, not-quite-new looking 6800 with a yellow $749 tag on it ($399 in PCA), but I passed on that one.

Yea I used it well tested it in my back yard, so did my father in law and he cuts grass for a living. He says it's ok but would never trade his gas trimmer. For me to do my yard it will take a little longer with the battery powered one but that ok. I like it and at 45 bucks it's great. I also got the blower for 99 dollars one day sale it's awesome, now I just need the mower.

Cool.

I might just keep mine as a backup. I got it when it was at 55.03 level in a local store.

I know Ill miss my gas trimmer, but its now about 10 years old so the classic "pay to fix it or buy a new one" debate is going in my head. Granted, its a Stihl so it might be worth it, but I hate the feeling of pumping 100.00+ into something that old.

Some weird stuff going on with the compressors. The one I got has a 1.6hp sticker under the pump but the motor is actually a 2hp.

Manual also does not say to change oil after break in. I did anyway though.

Yeah I'm looking at a 30 gal right now, the sticker on the compressor itself says it's the 135 psi model C301H but it has the price tag for the C302H on it. And the sticker on the motor says 2 HP like yours shows. Would there be a way to show this store they have the wrong model labeled?

Show them model on compressor and the model number on the price tag- they clearly are not the same. Pull up correct model in the PCA

That's the one. I looked all over the damn store. After that, I for the tool dept mgr and he got the stairs and went up and dug through everything looking for it. He said they are doing a massive inventory early next month and if they are in the store, they will find them then.

Had a massive fiasco yesterday with this. Bought a C301H still in box on Friday. Went to another HD on Saturday and found a C302H with a yellow $333.06 sticker on it showing the SKU but reading "135psi model". Hauled *** home to get a car that I could transport it home in.

Get up to the SCO and ask for a discount since it's a floor model. She scans the $330 tab and see's that it's $110. She says no discount as it's already "discounted" I ask for a manager. So some guy (not the manager) comes over and then the fun begins. He says "someone" put the wrong tag on the compressor as the Husky Label says 155psi and the yellow tag says 135psi. He rips the label off and says he needs to look into it and asked me where I got the compressor. Uhh? Where do you think I got it? I tell him that the 135 & 155psi compressors share the same SKU. He was very confused and was adamant that someone switched or mislabeled the compressor.

After at least 15 minutes, I'm pissed and tell the SCO I want the manager asap. I'm sick of waiting. She (manager) finally comes over along with the guy that skated with the Husky tag. He says the tag does not match the compressor but he is going to "go ahead" and sell it to me at that price. I then tell him I'm gonna need the factory tag and he says I can't have it. I tell him you're giving me the tag as it goes with the product and matches the user manual attached to it. Manager agrees and give it to me.

Spent about 5 minutes trying to educate the manager about the 2 model numbers and one SKU but she looked at me like I was speaking Mandarin.

Loaded it up and headed home.

When I realized what the 3 at my local store were I pretty much resigned myself to buying all or none of them.

Sure enough when I had someone get them out of overhead and once they were in my cart, they started asking questions like why didnt I just buy a kit that was on the floor.

Then they rang them up and said if I had left any they would have bought the rest. At least they were honest.

Flipped a basic $100 dewalt Kit for $180 literally before I left the store on Friday and found another one today. Also found two of the makita xt248 brushless combo but still at $165. Worth it? Prob get a big discount on one of them because box is damaged.
