All of the sockets/ratchets/wrenches on Amazon sale that I looked at are marked and described as USA made.

i did say the socket sets in the blow mold cases. Trust me, i bought one. Was none too happy with the taiwan COO on it as it was not a cheap set. The stand alone ratchets, wrenches, and at least the impact sockets [not sure about the small socket sets] are made in the US and are the same as williams.

A respectfully submitted counterpoint. HF deals are easily found; sign up with HF (as I have) and they will come flooding into your mail box and email box on a weekly basis. While a few spectacular HF deals certainly deserve being posted here, if this thread were to become a duplicate of the omnipresent HF flyers, I'd stop posting to this thread, or reading it. I sincerely hope this valuable thread doesn't succumb to Harbor Blight and become yet another extended HF sales flyer.

Now as for deals: I've been lookin' but not finding much of quality to post in the last few days, possibly due to the run-up to Black Friday. When the time comes, keep track of Black Friday deals here:

I love those under $10 deals at Amazon with prime shipping. I almost pulled the trigger on this one after reading this. Reading the reviews it looks like this is a really small knife though.

"2 1/8 inch (5.4 cm); closed: 3 inch (7.6 cm); weight: 1.1 oz"

Might work well for some purposes.

Cheers!

I've got a Coast knife for about $5 in my cart at Amazon waiting to hit $25 and free shipping, but faster than I am finding stuff to put in the cart, items are popping back to regular prices.

Great minds think alike!! I agree that regurgitating HF flyers would just clutter up this thread.

Prime is the bargain-shopper's best friend. The annual fee isn't that bad, espcially if you're going to make a bunch of under $25 purchases. It doesn't hurt that it's 2-day shipping, as well.

Harbor Freight is clearencing out their mini blade fuse 5 packs for 7 cents a pack. They are normally $2.99 a pack so I bought every one the store had.
The pack comes with a 5,10,15,20 and 30amp fuse in it.

Want to fill out your drill bit set with made-in-USA bits, for cheap?

Try this link at Amazon. Starts 20¢. Will take you some time, but you can fill out your missing bits pretty inexpensively.

I forget who first posted this trick. Maybe Stuey? Anyway, whomever it was, thanks. My 1-60 and A-Z sets are now 100% complete, filled in with USA-made bits.

My local Home Depot has Dewalt 14.4V XRP drills marked down to $149 from $199 I think the part number was DCD920KX, seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

they had a pretty big recall on their fuses several years ago. They werent popping and cars were burning up. As often as I have to change a fuse I think Ill spend the extra $1 and avoid a potential incident:lol_hitti

The recall was about the fuses getting hot and plastic shrinking until the two posts made contact turning a 20 amp fuse into a 100 amp fuse and setting the wiring on fire on a few cars.

Nothing but Buss or Littlefuse for me.

Thanks for this one. You can never have enough drill bits! I have a couple of sets and a bunch of odd balls in a drawer. Need to get a decent set of letter bits, and like to have extra bits for taps because seem like I use them the most. So 25 dollars to get free shipping means 125 bits at .20 cents!

Looks like I got some looking to do tonight! Hopefully these aren't one of those things that go up in price all the time.

Enco is running a 50% discount deal on USA made 29 pc drill set, $44. Model TH890-9242.

Also their transfer punch set (28 pcs) is on sale again at $8. It's import quality (I said 'import quality' not 'quality import'), I have one, it gets the job done (except for the one that came bent), nothing to write home about.

Here are the gearwrench items I got from amazon, totaling about $15 I had bought something for the wife that was $15 also, so 30 total shipped to my door, not bad. The quality apears to be really nice, I like the rails, though they could be more shallow, but at least they don't fall over when you set them on a flat surface.

amazons list on some tools is blown out of proportion, the going rate for that set is around $200-$220.

You can usually tell if a power tool is at a good price on Amazon, if it's selling NEW at close to the price of the REFURBs sold on the same page.

I went to another HD and it was $129, for that price I picked one up simply for the fact that I already have a Dewalt 14.4V XRP drill and $129 is cheaper than 2 replacement batteries. It is indeed the DCD920KX, and it is a very nice little drill.

Regardless of where you see a "low" price, good idea to google the details to make sure of what it is and if the price is actually low. Doesn't hurt to give some thought to it being something you actually want as well.

I don't know if this is local only.
Northern Tools has a Milwaukee promotion - get $100 of any cordless set if you trade in any old drill.
This can be combined with the current sale prices.
For example, they had the 4 piece 18v set (circular, reciprocating, light, drill) on sale for $400 - $100 = $300.
Not positive but I think it was this set

I see that the 7 piece PB Swiss slotted screwdriver set (in gold) is down to $25.74 on Amazon.

Of course, everybody and his dog has way more of these screwdrivers than they can ever use. I suppose it would make a good Christmas gift.

Not sure if this was directed at me, but if so, it is a pretty damn good price, since I paid over $160 for a Dewalt 14.4V on sale over 4 years ago. Amazon is ~$175 for this drill, and other sites I checked were still at $199. As far as whether or not I wanted it, I wanted two more batteries for my current drill and it was cheaper to buy this set, where I got the drill and 2 additional batteries. Otherwise I wouldn't have been looking at it. Plus I am in the middle of a basement remodel, so it is coming in handy for hanging sheetrock and other tasks.

Sheesh, I can't believe how close I just came to buying a set of gold plated screwdrivers that I absolutely do not need. ;)

Griff99, nope, not directed at you, just good practice.

I know this has been pointed out before, but man are the descriptions of the PB Swiss drivers screwed-up. I use the catalog to sort out what's what.

That would be a great deal if the sizes werent terrible in the set. 8,9,10,15,20 and 25. I have gearwrench's torx set which cost me the same and got 10,15,20,25,27,30 and 40. Is this not a more usable range? Maybe it's just me.

You know, you probably should buy them just to get the rack if nothing else. I'll bet that you'd pay $10 just for that. It isn't like they'll take up a lot of room.

yeah, i agree they are crappy sizes for regular use, but when using with a screwdriver handle, anything above 25-30 is kinda out of the question anyways. I actually found myself using the t-8. Buddy needed help replacing some buttons on his factory headunit/radio.

Not a pro but I find for misc work and auto work 8, 15, 20, 27, 30, and 40.

That's a Macintosh (#8) and a BMW the rest.

Interior work sometimes -- door panels, etc. I find the long 30 and 40 can be useful.

Can't fit a regular torx socket into those areas. Mabe a long torx socket...

Not sure how much of a deal this is but Sears is going to have the IR 2 stage type 30 pump with a 60 gallon tank compressor on sale starting tomorrow for $999 with the craftsman club. The lowest I have found it so far is from northern tool.

Anyone know how to stack some coupons or get it a little cheaper through sears? I plan to order one this weekend.
