How do you store your funnels?

Im looking for a new way to store funnels. I sued to keep a rag in them to keep dust out and help draining, but wondering if there is a different way?

Keep mine in gallon ice cream bucket but that gets pretty messy and about 6 mos or so.

They usually drop to the floor making a big oil mess as they spin and roll to the furthest place to reach under the car...

Or at least that is where I find them.

I went back and looked at some of these and needto make one myself.....looking at wood shelf with different size holes with a pvc piping system to a container....simple like all the others but most seem to be annoyed about keeping out the DUST and DEBREE of a shop for that I use the BOWL COVERS found in the saran / plastic wrap areas in supermarkets, dollar stores etc. they look like old fashion rain or shower caps a plastic circle with an elastic band and come in different sizes to fit different size "bowls" [funnels]. easy on and off......done

Yep in a cabinet, upside down in a shallow bakers or cake pan; with a couple layers of paper towels to keep it all neat and tidy...

I throw them on a shelf and clean them every stinking time I need to put new fluid in something. I guess I should follow this thread.

I hang mine on a nail on the wall so they can drip on the floor and make a mess there too

I put the oil funnel in my oil bucket, trans funnel in my trans bucket etc. Our shop has the hanging dispensers and you have to walk over with a bucket to get fluids. Makes sense to just stick the funnel in the bucket.

I keep mine in a huge plastic bag to keep them clean. The bag stays clean inside 'cause I rinse the funnels in the parts washer and wipe 'em dry before I put 'em back in the bag.

I got a wooden dowel stuck in the wall that i slip them over, if oil drips on the slab, well its a garage

5 gallon bucket. rag in the bottom and a rag in the top of each funnel. serves 2 purposes. holds leaking oil until you get the funnel back in the bucket, then i shove the rag in the top of the funnel to keep dust and dirt out of the funnel. quick shake of the rag and the funnel is ready to go. repeat the process.

I hang mine inside the trash can for a day. Then have a wood holder made that I best them inside each other with the bottom one having a wad of paper towel in to **** up any lasting drips

I put them in a clean garbage bag and throw them on the shelf. Not the the most professional way to store, but they are clean every time I use them. It really bothers me to dump oil in something not knowing if a chunk of something goes in with it.

We had a laundry tub with a piece of screen about 3 in. from the bottom and just tossed them in there. And then you would have some custom blend for the beaters, any oil is better than no oil !

Wad up a paper towel and close lightly in the vice with the tip of the funnel inside. Two shots of degreaser. Next day after its drained, into a cut off washer fluid container upside down. Good enough for me.

A washer fluid jug with the top cut off houses numerous funnels at my shop. A quick shot of brake clean and wipe with a rag and they're clean enough for the girls I go for...

The tough ones are the small ones that you can't push a paper towel through.

I keep them in a plastic tote sitting in sections of PVC pipe to drain. I use what collects at the bottom (mix of diesel, oil, ATF, grease) to lubricate farm gates.

i keep my oil changing 'stuff' in a kitty litter bucket. so no worry when a little bit spills out of the funnel. of course when you have 3 cats you have to find uses for lots of kitty litter buckets!
also keep the car wash stuff in one, scrap metal in another, car parts in another, kids counseling fund change in another........

I wipe them clean, put them in a gallon zip lock bag with a paper towel or two. Throw in a drawer.

I wipe them and then put them on the (small) stack of funnels I have and into an empty old bottle of engine oil. Not the most stable but I only have 5 funnels, so it works for me.

I put the funnel in a empty one gallon oil container and use an old coffee can lid to cover the top of the funnel so dirt does not get in.

Quick spray with Purple stuff, water rinse, wipe out with a paper towel and store in a plastic container. They are clean and contaminate free when I need one again.

I store mine in a larger, cheap plastic tool box. The funnels that are dedicated for oil/transmission fluid are in gallon sized ziplock bags. I put a clean or lightly used shop ran in the funnels when put away.

I remember one place I worked, the maintenance guy used to keep a 5 gallon bucket of way oil in the grinding room, with about 25 surface grinders in use. He kept the funnel, facing up, in the bucket. It would sit there and accumulate grinding dust for a few weeks, then he would use the funnel to oil up the machines. He never cleaned the grinding dust out of the funnel!

I wipe mine off, then stack them pointy end up, small to large & leave a rag on top. I only have five, though.

I stick them in the holes of the storm drain outside and let the rain water wash them clean to the street...................














I have holes cut in the top of a 5 gal. bucket lid and let them drip in it.
