Trust me it's true. I don't know the guy, have no reason to make **** up about the guy, and my word is as good as gold. I may be fairly new here but I'm a long time member of MANY other websites including the HAMB, Ebay, & lots of others ALL with this same name I've used for 15 years. If a mod has the ability to read PMs they can feel free to do so as well. How do I do a screenshot ? LoL if I do you gotta tell the kids to look away.. I wasn't real polite.

NH, I wasn't doubting your word. I put that caveat there kinda like the way reporters will say alleged shooter. Not to question your honesty but more to protect my ****. Sure hope you didn't take it wrong cause it wasn't meant that way.

I wonder how interested the Snap-on company would be? I'm sure they're interested, but would they bother going after someone committing fraud small time?
Based on the way SO obsoleted (aka 'used') test equipment was handled years ago down here,
at least according to the grapevine,
'I was surprised to see the extent of SO trafficking on ebay.

Very sad... This is what is wrong with America, greed has replaced the simple things in life. Respect and Honor don't mean anything anymore, you would thing as a older person (retired per his profile) he would value those qualities.

Isn't this how lynchings get started?

I haven't seen anyone consider whether he was posting his eBay ad, and accidentally grabbed the wrong photo from his local drive, because it looked so similar in thumbnail form?

I'm just sayin' . . . .

Are you serious ?? This is the kind of thread that protects us ALL,, should never be locked for any reason, and if anything, should be made a sticky so it dosn't dissapear into the black hole of old news. This place needs a "Hall of Shame" to list members who are crooks ! Other sites do it and it does work. If a mod feels the language used in the PMs I cut & pasted is out of line I will remove that post but please don't make the entire thread dissapear. That only protects the guilty.

NHBandit, how did you expect him to respond when this is the first message you sent him? If you had sent a reasonable message, perhaps you would have received a reasonable response.

Note, I'm not defending the member in question. This ebay ad does look awfully suspicious.

Yea, I would have politely asked for the model number and whatnot. Although both probably would end with him getting offline and butthurt..but the fact he bought the snap on grip and seeing it on a obviously non-snap-on ratchet tells the story.

If you look at the cut & paste it didn't show the first couple of PMs we had back & forth. I have no idea why. It just did that. I am not computer savvy and I did manage to locate the "prt scn" button to attempt a screen shot but when I hit that button nothing happened. So I did what I know how to do & did a cut & paste of the PM box. I did start out polite and was simply trying to give him a heads up that he was the subject of discussion. HE is the one who got all rude & started blowing smoke. I wasn't born yesterday and I can smell a liar & a thief from quite a way off so I gave the bad attitude right back to him. You wanna buy his stuff it's your business. You wanna think nothing but warm fuzzy thoughts about everyone that's cool too. You think we should hold hands & sing kumbaya and try to figure out if maybe his mamma didn't coddle him enough & that's why he did what he did I'm cool with that too. But you won't catch me bidding on any of his Ebay auctions and I felt I was doing the other good folks here a favor by posting my convo with the guy. Happy New Year to all and may next year bring you nothing but good things. .

That's what I was thinking too. Maybe a more subtle invitation to comment on this thread may have been a bit more appropriate.

There's no mistaking that is a HF ratchet with a SO handle on it, so any way you look at it, he's got some 'splainin to do.

Let me try one more time since it's very possible some of you have been drinking.. I started out all nicey nice & polite. When I put the guy on the spot about the BARE HANDLES he bought he started back peddling. Finally he outright ADMITTED what he did and he left. Any questions ? Geez... :dunno:

Anyone want to buy my ultra rare Duralast edition snap on ratchet? It's a real bargain considering how rare it is. Only 1 of 1 ever made!
20120821_201111.jpg
 (RATCHET IS NOT REALLY FOR SALE)

The laziness of this guy to buy the handles off ebay, and keep the same user name he uses here! WTF was he thinking?? At least we can all take comfort in knowing that at least he got ripped off by the seller that sold him the handles. You can buy them from snap on much much cheaper with free s/h. :p

Seriously tho, Good job to everyone who helped expose this counterfeiter

I've gotta say, I'm just surprised that people are surprised! When he first started posting here I was just annoyed by his bad grammar and inability to spell "flea market" but once it was clear that the majority of his posts were about flipping, "what's it worth?," threads, ridiculous classifieds ads, and the general dissemination of bad advice I added him to the mental list of GJ posters whose threads and responses I skip right over.

I noticed on his e-bay listing it had the country of origin as "unknown".
My thanks to the OP and NHBandit.
Hopefully, this guy is gone and won't show up with a new user name.
Really should be banned.

I have to agree, even before this came about I would have never bought anything from him.

It is easy to report auctions as fraudulent. Use report item link and then pull own windows. I think ebay would want to know. SnapOn takes fraud very seriously. Garage journal members should be protected from this guy.

I'd call that a win. Can the garage journal ban him?

You should have made it clear when you posted that you weren't posting the entire conversation. The way you posted it, it made you look like you were being an a-hole right out of the gate. How were we supposed to know information you didn't include?

Again, I'm not trying to defend the person selling the ratchet. It looks pretty clear that he was doing something that wasn't honest.

BTW - here's a quick and easy way to take a screen shot.
-use the "print screen" key to capture the image
-open Microsoft paint (if using a PC), it should already be installed on your computer
-Paste the screen cap into paint
-Edit it, if needed, then save it as a .jpg or other file.
-You can then attach it to the post or host it somewhere and insert the image into your post.

I suggest he state his case here if he wants to stick around. Or PM me.

Assuming the PMs that were posted are factual, what kind of case can he have other than he is ripping off people? He isn't banned yet?
