Thanks. The only post-'50 JPD's I have are a 4-inch Proto LA, a 6-inch P&C, and the 6- and 8-inch Fleets in my PENENS box, and they don't have reinforced hanging holes. I didn't know they went back to them later! Those whacky Pendletons!The clues are the reinforced hanging hole which Proto LA and early Proto Mfd wrenches didn’t have. Later Mfd and newer had reinforced hanging holes.
Yes.Does the hole for the screw go all the way through the wrench?
Honestly, this wrench is virtually identical to most of the youngest wrenches in my JPD collection, including a PLVMBALOY dated Jan '47. The only differences are the thumbwheel through-hole at the top, the thumbwheel being captively pinned instead of removable with a screw at the bottom, and the hanging hole not being broached. The mechanism, jaws, shape and profile are identical.
If there were 1950's Stanley catalogs available on IA/ITCL, I would have bet on this being from '57, not '67.
