Can someone post a link for the $12.58 price?

Item #: 436178
Model #: 87058

comes up as $17.97 on Lowes' website. At $12.58 I'd have to pick up a couple more sets for gifts.

Change your default store location. It comes up at the two different prices depending on which 4-5 local stores I select. Lowes pricing is weird like that.

Interesting.

I clicked on the link agpatel posted and it brought up my local Lowes with the same $17.97 price. I changed to a Lowes 30 miles away as Hootbro suggested and the price dropped to $12.58.

Lowes pricing is weird - wonder if they price match their own site?

I printed out one stores lower price on some Knipex cutters and had another store price match it for me. I just went to the customer service desk and had them call the manager and explained what I wanted. He had not a problem price matching another store.

Yes, they will. I showed the lady behind the counter my phone with the ad pulled up and she had no problem with it

Down to $10 here so i got a 2nd

:lol_hitti What? Soon Lowes will just be throwing them in your bag with every purchase. They must really want to get rid of these.

I may have to pick up a few and keep them on hand for gifts to friends or people that come by and need a decent ratchet.

I bought one anyways. Yep all duplicates of what I already have but the ratchet is nice and for the price can't be beat.

I bought 3. Gave one to my brother, one to my shop guy, and took one One to my cabin. I'm going back tomorrow for a few more just for the hell of it. Thinking of hacking off the handle and doing a hard handle mod so it's a shorter hard handle. They are very, very nice considering the price point. I just don't understand lowes incisive need to unload them.

Lowes never stocked these in most stores in the tool section. In most places they were end cap items or in the lawn and garden section. I think were only a Spring seasonal stock item aimed at people looking to do a mower tune-up.

If your store has different pricing, goe to lowes.com use zip code 77581 as your home location, print add, they should match price

Hard to pass up a couple more, at $12.58. Gifts...for my son and my dad...pretty certain neither has a flex head 3/8 drive. I'll lube them first.

My store had a full end cap display, which tells me there's more in the back. How low will they go, I wonder?

They didn't market these properly. They won't sell for their original price as a "add-on" item in the lawn mower isle. I'm surprised Lowes even carries spark plugs anymore as your average joe is lucky to own a hammer and buys a new mower when the spark plug needs changed. These should have been showcased with Lowe's other tool specials (my Lowes has a whole aisle with pop up cardboard displays for their low-priced tools).

Agreed. I'm speculating that not more than one in ten people that go in to buy a lawn mower at Lowe's knows how or cares to turn a wrench on that lawnmower. That's not a put-down, it's just the way of things. My neighbor saw me taking apart my push mower (that had been in storage 6 years), and when I said I had to clean out the carburetor, he said, "You lost me at 'carburetor'." :lol_hitti

But it may also be a marketing mis-step that they packaged this as a "spark plug tune-up kit." Some people who do turn a wrench might glance at it and think, "I already have the tools to change spark plugs," and not see what we've seen, "Hey, that's a great price on a decent ratchet!"

ordered 2 more for $12.58 each. Adding to my 2 boy's tool collections for when they get older (4 and 1 1/2 now). At that price I really couldn't pass them up. Also ordered a bunch of Nicholson files that are around 50% off at my local store. Threw in the 1 Knipex that was a good deal to get it over $50 and then used a $10 off $50 code to sweeten the deal :)

Also, why package a long-handled flex head ratchet for a "spark plug tune up kit" :dunno:

Anyway, if anyone is wondering what the insides look like. Of course, it was bone dry like just about every overseas ratchet.

There is a pic of this ratchet on page 7 completely disassembled and discussing it being bone dry, as well as a head to head comparison photo vs. the HF ratchet on page 9.

I think most people can snap a picture, the problem is they don't read the instructions on HOW! LOL

I have to admit it, I balked when my instruction manual was almost a 1/2-inch thick but I knew I was doing something wrong because I spent too much money for the pics to be blurry. Trust me, it was a painful read. :D

Nice pic allinon.

Whoops I missed that post.

Glad you posted that pic! I opened my ratchet up when I got home with it yesterday to add a little grease. First one I've ever opened. Though I didn't need to, I decided to pull everything out, but then couldn't remember which direction the springs faced. Your photo bailed me out. Thanks!

I pulled out one of the two torx screws. I squirted some lithium grease through the hole. I put back the screw.

I learned this the hard way after totally disassembling the first one.

BTW, I finally found the ones in my local store. They were near the replacement filters for the Shop Vacs. Not in the tool section nor the garden section.
