Found a Snap-On 1/4” drive 3/8” power socket and locking shank together at an estate sale. The shank has a date code but no branding just like other 1/4 bits I’ve found.

Wow, that shaft looks suspiciously like a Yankee push drill or ratcheting screwdriver bit, but those only came in 7/32 and 9/32, never 1/4". Is the shaft actually 1/4"?

Woops. I was wrong on that. 9/32” square drive and shank.

Cool, never seen that as a Yankee accessory. That fits the medium sized one, and the largest 5/16” is the biggest. Thanks for the catalog page.

Snap on A-57203 wrench. 9/16 on both sides. no date code, probably 40s, probably military. maybe the same set as the A-59444 rat. no clue as to use.

I picked up this old socket set box recently. There were a couple of Snap-On items in there, like the fixed socket handle, but mostly early Thorsen sockets, a Blackhawk ratchet, and the Long-C speeder and extension.

I got this in the mail today. It was described as an 3/8" drive F7 (dated 1965). I figured it was an F710 or F710AK, but it only has F7 on it. Bad roll stamp is the only explanation I can come up with.

I was looking around a yard sale in Minden NV this morning and something made me pick up this nondescript taped up cardboard box. Much to my surprise it contained a lightly used Torqometer.

I wonder how old that Torqometer is? Lovely tools, i'm a great fan of them. I have 2 of the more modern ones that came in plastic boxes a 1/2" and a 3/82 drive. The instructions with mine are the same except without the specs for the various car engines.
Fascinating reading, I spent a whole evening looking at them! I use a snap on extension with mine and do the calculation for higher torque stuff like flywheel bolts, will have to post a pic of it.

Based on the latest year shown in the torque specs, my best guess would be around 1970. I couldn’t find any date code on the tool itself.

I almost left these unmarked brake pliers behind but the 1935 date code was a dead giveaway . In the 1935 Snap on catalog they are listed as Ford brake spring pliers.

I had some fun Snap-on finds at a Carson City, NV yard sale yesterday. The most unusual tool was this really long early Ferret speeder that my wife used as a walking stick when we left the sale.Other kind of unusual finds.

I did some cleanup on some of my finds from Saturday yesterday. It was very difficult to use evaporust on the long rusty speeder. I think this is as good as it’s going to get.

The 3/8” drive extension I found recently had a noticeable bend so my neighbor and I used a vice with soft jaws along with a pipe and tire iron to apply enough brute force to mostly straighten it out.
