This is little Max. He does this EVERY day with at least one of my sneakers. The sneakers are almost too big for him to carry but he does. He never chews them but carries one into the living room or sometimes out the dog door to the patio.

He's a funny little dog. Somewhere between 5 and 8 years old per vet. He's a "lap dog" and I know for certain he's had 2 owners before me (more?) but it's obvious he hasn't been doted on like a lap dog. In my truck he always sits on the center console (I have a folded blanket there for him) with his head on my right leg. I rescued him when I bought Fifi.

When she got in my truck he ran under it and cried because he wasn't big enough to get in by himself, but he tried. I asked if I could have him too and the lady said he was her dad's dog but that dad was thinking of "letting him go."
So she gave him to me. He probably would have been sent to the dog pound and been put down. I love both my dogs dearly and I feel like I truly saved him from a bad fate.IMG_3255.jpeg

I sheared the face of our shorter backyard hedge this morning. Little Max watched me EVERY minute to ward off the "....lions and tigers and bears" of course. He's afraid of power equipment but he stays as close as he can to supervise. I should find a tiny orange Caltrans vest and white hardhat for him!

We are setting up my wife's art room/office/craft space in the house we have been redoing. Zuzu watched us as we set up a new easel, had to take the opportunity to shoot a picture of her posing for the artist. If you think she'd stay there for long, you don't know her...she left right after I clicked the photo. Her liver values are falling, so we are hopeful we are on the right path. New house, new veterinarian and we are very happy with the guy we chose.

Wanted to get stuff done in the pole barn on the Lincoln, and didn’t want to chase the pup…

So shady spot in the yard, and a ratcheting tie down lmao.

Then it started to rain. Ugh. IMG_4242.jpeg
My aunt Mary did that with Baby at my parents' house. A few beers and no supervision later and that pup had chewed through the strap, and was in the next village, on it's way home.

^^^^ Similar to our camping setup (now) @Magnum440d100. Loop the 50ft lead through one of the spokes in one of the Silverado wheels. If no tree available, we used to hook the lead to one of the boat anchors that is just sitting nearby. That is, until one night he got onto a raccoon and took off dragging that damn boat anchor all through the woods and campground :ROFLMAO: I had a helluva mess on my hands. Use a wheel or tree now.

Second wave of the fiber optic crews showed up today. I was in the garage loading the truck for a 3 day trip starting tomorrow, when the tech pulled up. My boy was just about out of gas after playing and running around for a bit prior. I went out and chatted with the feller for a few. Cool dude. Knows the real story of what's going on, not the stuff the office folks would tell (sell) ya ;) I go to head back to the garage and my boy decides he'll stay back and keep guard over and protect the guy, and takes up a nice post...in the shade. I didn't raise no dummy:ROFLMAO:

You never know, the installer may be providing snacks or extra pets.
Yep. Guy is a dog lover/owner. He and my boy hit it off great. Heck, the last crew that was here had two guys that ended up throwing the tennis ball all over the yard and chasing him around. Like they had never seen a dog before.

Boy is not too happy. Like most tent doors, on this one you zip the two zippers together at the ground level, normally. I have to bring them together about waist high. He first did it a couple years ago. With just a tiny hole between the two, he would stick his muzzle in there and wiggle it back and fort until he could squeeze his big *** out through the bottom in the middle of the night. Didn't think to do it the other night and sure enough, he's gone chasing whatever :ROFLMAO: He did ok. Came back in a few minutes in one piece and not bleeding. Image from the following day with him looking right at it.
Poor guy is confused. At home he is encouraged and praised for chasing down and killing tree rats and other undesirables. Yet at a campground where there are 100's of them running right close to ya, he can't go get 'em :ROFLMAO:
