Sorry to hear Kay. Losing a loved pet is never easy, and always harder if it's dragged out...
An update. Gracie passed in the night. Curled up in her usual spot in the bed.
She's lying in state there now. As soon as it's light I'll fire up the Dingo, swap buckets and dig a hole out under Lucifer, where our other fuzzy kids are buried.
If any of you are up at dawn. Pause and think a happy, warm, fuzzy thought for a strong willed, wonderful little girl who is headed out into the great unknowable.

It's been about 6 month since my Bo the truck dog passed.
But over the Christmas break, I got to dog sit these wild boys.
just over a year old brothers. Nice to have some dog slobber in my life again.
Think I need another dog.
They say it's hypoallergenic like a Wire Fox. Do you have to clip his/her hair or does s/he shed? My wire foxes leave no hair anywhere. Except in the shopvac when I trim them.
Add me to the list of people that lost fur buddies over the holidays. Max, (Islander's Gunner's Mate Maximillian) our 18 year old Platinum Mink Tonk, was put to eternal rest on Wednesday last. He had been slowly dying of old age for the last week or so, but we'd hoped he would make it through the holidays, as he was in no pain, still jumping up onto mommy's lap to be covered, but had lost interest in eating anything at all. The day I took him in, he was starting to stumble out of weakness, and we could bear it no longer. I held him as he was put down-something I swore I'd never do again, but after 18 years felt he deserved to have a loving friend with him. It still hurts and the other cats are still looking for him, and their pleading eyes are constant reminders of our pain. To those in the same shape, I am truly sorry for your losses, and yes I know exactly what you are going through. Max now rests beside his brother who preceded him in death 5 years ago. Goodbye, Max, my old buddy, we love you.

What kind of patchwork quilt dog is that? Is he really blue?
I saw the paws/claws on the fender and was thinking WTF - BEFORE I saw the rust. Pretty mouser you have there.
Cheers
Jim
That's my trail Jeep, lots of dents, dings, and rock-rash. For some reason, that cat loves to sleep on the hood.

He's a blue heeler. Its an Australian herding breed.
Very smart and loyal. He's my shadow.
Right back at you, Dan, and I agree 100%. I hope to be able to handle it as well as you as time progresses.I send along my best wishes in dealing with Max's passing. Wherever he and my Sooner Boy are, if they can see us, perceive us, they wish us nothing but the best. I'm absolutely convinced of it!
