OH, chad s; I was wondering if you were bidding on that catalog! Post some pics of the inside! That thing went pretty high didn't it?
Well here's some of what I've picked up via fleabay and the local marts (and here) over the past month or so.

Top to bottom 1/2 drive - Indestro Super, Allen, Bonney, NBM, Mac, None Better

Top to bottom 3/8 & 1/4 drive - Blue Point, Craftsman, Allen, Husky, Snap-On, Armstrong, no name
That brings the ratchet count to 217 so far.

Metric Tap & Die set, USA made (Magna?), missing some taps, but for $15 I'm not gonna complain...

It went for a lot, more than I wanted to spend, but towards the end I decided I was going to have it no matter what, but my max bid wasn't far from what it went for. There is a 28 catalog on now, and I have that one. I got my 28 for $50 on a Buy It Now, a week later another went for $660! The 29 is quite a bit rarer than the 28. Catalogs aren't selling well right now, but it seems a few people really wanted this one.
This was the auction:

I will be scanning the entire catalog over the next few days, and will make a thread with every scanned page.

I don't know know many guys my age with a set of tools/box like mine, especially ones that've paid for it all themselves. I've been working full-time for a year and have paid for everything except two socket sets myself. Makes me smile when i look at my box and all my tools, and i get that satisfaction of knowing my hard work paid for it all.
It keeps me smiling as my collection grows.![]()
Exchange rate works well in my favour. It is a bit of an obsession. (ok, a full-blown obsession) but while i'm young, free and earning i want to make the most of it!

It seems like the mechanics conundrum; you can't make money without tools but many times you have to go into debt to get them and off the truck, they are expensive! Damned if you do; damned if you don't! I feel bad for these techs that are making less and less money; they're buying power (and standard of living) seems to be lower then in the past!

Two more scores this week !!
Snap On FX80 (new) $87
Proto Flare Wrench set (new) $36
Damn... I want that FX80! Did you buy it off the truck for $87????
I could not believe I got it for $87http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280247731852&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm38%26_nkw%3D280247731852%2B%2B%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1

I mostly wanted the pick's and nut drivers for my home set, the rest is just extra gravy.![]()

Its suppose to be a spark plug socket and handle, I will have to check out the part numbers when it arrives to be sure.
I'd say the socket is probably snap on, but the square extension/T-bar is most likely not.

Mind you Moose I'm biased, but these things really fit well in your hand and are easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
They were the "cats ***" must have air tool in the late 70's and 80's but for some reason went out of favor. I've used this type since I first saw one on a MAC truck in 1972 and have preferred the model ever since.
They were made in Japan and were sold under the SUN, Rockwell, Rockford, Blue Point, CP, Rodac and Florida Pneumatic brands. Florida Pneumatic still carries it in their catalog.
New ones show up on e-bay quite regularly for under $20.00 -- I've seen many good used models go for less than $5.00
MLT, do you ever buy any from Ebay UK?
I've had plenty of good deals here.
Please, call me Moose.
I do buy from eBay UK, fairly often. I just find some great deals from the US, and the exchange rate makes them even sweeter. I get most of them past customs without duty too. Some stuff just isn't found often on eBay UK.
