Hi, garage folks, I am way far behind on the vise page ( but have serious vice for vises!) If you know tool boxes like the vise guys know vises than someone will make this look easy. It has been anything but for me.Today I have a question that I only know how to ask, probably. I am looking for a box like this one. I believe it is from the 40,maybe 50's. might be made by blackhawk box? IDK any help that can point me on to one like this would be greatly appreciation. It does not have to be labeled as a Briggs box,,just the right box and drawers arrangement. I can also be reached at [email protected]
Traded my black Classic 96 for a KRL7023 in Candy Apple Red with a bedliner top.
How do you find or compare your classic 96 to the krl?
I have a classic 96 now and I'm overall pretty happy never really thought of trading in future but was curios to hear from someone who went from kra to krl

Very nice scooter. Congrats on going out on your own. I wish you all the best in your new business. Chris.Well after some crazy months gone by I can finally put the new box up. I had posted in (show us your epics) when the box came in but that had to be quick. After 30 plus years of wrenching and working for others I finally pulled the plug and opened my own shop. It has been a crazy time but now all is moved in, settled and ready. We opened for business this past Monday and the first week has been good so far. Ready for the future. I ordered this Epic in August off the rock and roll truck. Traded the Taj Mahal for it and couldn't be more satisfied. Everything is in now and set. As promised to the forum here are all the shots. Thanks to the forum.

The red tray next to the ball joint press is actually an add on set of adaptors for the ball joint press. I have a set of hub sockets in 12 point and a set in six point in another photo. But the red tray is part of the ball joint set up. SorryScooter is there any chance you have a part number for the spindle nut socket set next to the ball joint press?
Long story short, the entire product (the KRL) just feels better. The higher build quality of the Masters gives you a more premium feel all around. Better quality and stylish ISOride casters give you a smoother ride without sacrificing looks. The real winner for me though are the drawer slides. Hands down, smoother opening and closing of the drawers over the KRA. They are also beefier for higher weight loads. I also appreciate the deeper drawers for added storage space. No question about it, higher quality product. I have no regrets whatsoever. If a good trade opportunity presents itself to you, take the plunge. You won't regret it either.
Finally got some time to post up my box, still working towards getting more tools... I also need to focus on finding a proper solution to the organization
That looks just like my first box. It was a great deal on a repo.
I can't recall the exact drawer configuration, but it was that exact color combination. I added a hutch and a side shelf.
Nice set, very complete. Sure are packing that box!
Thank you! I'll probably have it bursting at the seems within the next few years

Nice setup, but you have TONS of room still available.
I know you probably like the wrench racks and those plastic socket holders, but they do take up space the way they hold the tools.
I'm working with what I have right now since better organizers cost $$$. I know I have some more room but I don't think I'll have much, if any left once I get some more of the tools I've been wanting/needing. The top drawer is my biggest issue. It is stacked 3 layers deep in the front half and I also have a huge 3/4 socket set that isn't pictured.
I just use the wire method. coil up 10 awg insulated wire, and slot the wrenches in between. I haven't found a better or cheaper solution yet and the space savings is 5 fold.

How old is that box? It looks like it is in great condition. I have an 8525 in the same color combo, that I purchased back in 1996. Just last spring I was having issues with some of the drawer slides so I called Matco. They asked if I had a dealer and then checked my area and confirmed that there was no dealer coverage where I am located. Then asked how many slides I needed, I told the rep that I needed six slides. The rep then asks if all the others are original. I told him yes they were. The rep then asked how many I would need to replace all of the slides in the box, as they are probably not much better. So Matco sent me a whole new set of slides for my twenty year old box. All I was asked to provide were the model and S/N of my box. Not that is what I call Customer service! They only way it would have been better is if a dealer did the work of replacing them for me. But I did get to take my time and clean the box with all the drawers out. I did find $20 and a 25h time ticket from 18 years ago, had not seen a daily time ticket like that in a while![]()
