Ordered my duckbills on Saturday, they arrived yesterday. About a 0.01" gap between the jaw tips, similar to pictures posted by others. A little file work would probably get them to close fully. Doesn't quite make sense, though - at $5 including shipping, wouldn't they be better off scrapping them, rather than doing harm to their reputation?

I got my order today. Funny, I ordered two of the duck bills, one is almost perfect and the other ****. But for 5 bucks who cares, I'm not going to do open heart surgery with them.

Also someone had asked if the hose pliers were bent. The larger ones have very defined apex and the small ones look like someone stepped on them, but the tips and handles line up so whatever. I've never had units like these until last year when Woot was running a sale on what is now the "medium" sized set. Since getting that original set, holy **** have they turned out to be insanely useful for some things. I figured for $15 each, what the hell I now have a complete set :)

Finally got my groove locks today. I have to say, for $5 I am impressed. I wouldn't pay $25, but they are a step above Harbor Freight for sure. I think what makes them look 'cheesy' is the handle grips. The actual pliers are stout.

I got my first order.
Got 3 of the slip joints. They are China but look decent for China and for the price.
I would not be happy at the original price.
Long dikes canceled.
Mac screwed up bit time....they sent long reach needle nose instead do the long duckbills....oh darn. Something that is more usefull to me.

I was looking at the grips where they are black and then have the little red part.....looks familiar....
Looked in my home toolbox and found some alltrade pliers that look identical....mmmm
So what'd to the alltrade pliers go for?

I called Mac yesterday and they are sending me another pair of hose clamps. Sent them the same pictures I posted, and asked if this is the design. Her manager said no and they would be sending me a new pair, but now I believe this is the design.

Both of my hose pliers were bent as well. Not sure why, guess I'll get used to them after using then for a bit.

Ordered on Saturday, arrived Thursday.

Description Shipped *Qty on Back Order Qty Canceled
12IN TONGUE & GROOVE 0 1 0
11IN DIAGONAL CUTTER PLIERS 0 0 1
11IN LONG REACH DUCKBILL 1 0 0

The duckbill close perfectly on mine. China, but otherwise well worth the $5. Disappointed on the cutters though. Was the primary reason for placing the order but oh well.

Ordered mines on Saturday. Came in on Friday to Northern California.

The duckbills are worth the 4.99 and nothing more.

It's ok but it's a real shame that MAC had tried to pass these for 25.99 at some point.

They really need to just be honest and label their "clearance" section the factory seconds section.

I got mine yesterday. They are nice for 5. I would prolly pay 25 for them too. I order 1 duck bill btw. They have a little flash on one side that's sharp that I filled off but other than that. They're fine.

Got my duck bills the other day and have used them. Mine compared to what some have said are better. They are almost lined up perfect. I bought these though so that I just had a extra pair of them. Not my go to pair but will work when they are needed. Plus for 5 bucks for descent pliers can't really complain as much as some are but I'm also 16 and just doing work at home not professionally

They're lesser quality than the harbor freight Pittsburgh line, no doubt

Will that spring-like mechanism last? :) I've had second thoughts about this plier, but for the price, why not? :D

I got my shipment today. Not thrilled with the duckbills. The Mini Engine Ear is pretty good.

I don't think so. Their made by Steelman, which is a US company. Didn't notice COO on the packaging.

The duck bills kinda let me down when I opened the box. I expect more from a tool truck company, no matter how good the price was.

Yep. Me too. I don't believe I'll buy from MAC again unless I get it from the truck.

ok seriously people. what were you expecting from items on clearance. For $5. It's no secret all of MAC tools have been made in china for decades*. I mean really, what were you expecting?

*I'm sure you can find a tool on the MAC truck that's USA. Or that some have moved offshore more recently than 10 years ago. But it's well documented on this website that MAC primarily sells chinese tools.
