Well that's a high compliment on the renderings - thank you!

HERE is the thread I read about it. Seems 100% legit to me. The dual extruder patent drawing is pretty interesting.

Ha! That's so similar. Once I release my product that the logo was made for (soon!) it will be apparent where my logo design was derived from.
Lemme guess. Next you will be 3d printing steering wheels?

You said it yourself, the only limit is your imagination. Your lack of skills is just a lack of education and experience. If you want to pursue digital fabrication, I say do it!

Sadly, ive been trying to improve my IT understanding for 20 years, with zero success. I use a computer every single day of my working life. Took me 5 years to realise my phone had a menu to pull down from the top of the screen. Well i say, realise. Someone had to point it out to me. Ive had it six years, and i still dont know how it works. If i could self analyse, id say not being able to understand menu structures is probably a major part of it.

In the meantime, ill come here and see what you are up to. Loving your work.

Love your vise ornaments! GJ members love a made in USA vise lol Here is a couple of unsolicited ideas, make the vise body a more Christmas-ie red color and make a version that has a faux patina to get the vintage collectors interested. :lol_hitti
Thank you for your nice comment and suggestions! I do plan to try out some different colors in the future, but the faux patina would require some hand painting, which could be quite time consuming. I would love to see someone purchase one and add a faux patina weathering job.

Received my printed vise today- absolutely love it- Thank You AM! really clever, great detail, happy I was able to participate and support!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Oh that's fantastic to hear! You are the first to report receiving one, thank you. How well did your package survive shipping? Share some photos, if you don't mind! Merry Christmas to you too!

Ha, nope! You would never guess what it is.

In the meantime, ill come here and see what you are up to. Loving your work.
Thank you for following along and for the nice message!

That's a very nice looking tree! Thank you for the kind words and for your order. Myself and my family are very grateful that so many great people like you have decided to support us this holiday season by purchasing a mini vise.

Merry Christmas to you and yours !! I enjoy following your adventures on here. Stay safe and thank you for letting us view into your world !!
Very kind of you to say, thank you! Hopefully there are more fun adventures worth following along for here in 2025!

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Loving the mini vice. It's such a cool creation you made. It is my desk ornament for this year as with the garage build project going on we setup up nothing for Christmas. I love fidgeting with it at my desk.
Thank you for the well wishes and for the nice review of your mini vise! I have the original prototype sitting on my desk too, makes me happy. You will have a great new year completing the garage and getting settled in - I'm looking forward to watching! Thank you for your order by the way!

Thank you Mark, I'm looking forward to the new year. I hope the same for you!

Yes, this will be known soon! Don't get too excited, it's not an item that you could use in your shop. Well, not currently anyway.

A lot of you probably already saw either on my Instagram or in the slightly controversial thread I posted here that I finally launched a product that has been in the works for years at this point - Fixture Table Plugs. This has been such a long time coming and it was a relief to finally get them out there for sale, albeit quite anxiety inducing as well. The reception has been mostly positive, but slow. I'm working on more table manufacturers and hole sizes as I type this, but there is some delay in the process as I have to send test plugs out to individuals with the tables in question to verify fitment. To start out, I am offering what I figured would be the two most common sizes out there: 5/8" Strong Hand and 16mm Siegmund.

Check out the thread I linked to read more about the utility of the plugs. They aren't for everyone, but for those who understand how useful they are, they will be a massive life improvement. I have a lot of work to do not only in my quest to offer more sizes, but also to create media for promoting the plugs and their usefulness. So far I've gotten a lot of supportive comments on the graphic design I created for the label stickers, and I'm really glad to see that. I put a lot of effort into nailing that vintage look. Hopefully now you will also see where the new logo was derived from and how it matches the product. I've got them listed on my website along with my mini vises if you are interested:

Speaking of Mini Vises, yesterday I spent some time to assemble some to have them back in stock. While packaging them, my younger son helped out and I decided to make an Instagram Reel out of it. It turned out to be my favorite post I've ever made. Check it out, I promise it will be the cutest thing you watch today: View Instagram Reel Here

Aside from business, we've been mighty fortunate to witness what I believe to be the most beautiful winter sights over the last couple of days since we moved into this house. A foggy day followed by cold and snow for two days resulted in the most gorgeous frosted forest I've ever seen.

20250105_112223.jpg

There's only a few inches of snow, but I thought it would be best to try to clear the driveway today. Stupidly, I didn't get the skid loader fired up and moved into the shop this year before it got cold. Of course, the battery was dead, so I drug out the jumper cables and hooked it up to the Expedition. No dice, just too cold for the old Kohler to get cranking fast enough to start. Now I'm hoping for weather warm enough to be able to start it up, but it's not looking like the forecast is going to be on my side. I'll probably have to get a propane heater fired up to thaw out the poor thing.

Love it! The packaging on both these products is top notch, as was the packaging on the desk mats. Good on you for going that extra mile!

Thank you Mathias! Can't wait for you to receive yours - it's looking like it will arrive Tuesday. Packaging is one of my favorite aspects of product development. I always appreciate a good unboxing experience.

When I listed my Fixture Table Plugs last week, I did it in kind of a hurry. With that being said, I know my product images are not of the highest quality. That needs remedied, so today I started by creating this "Pile of Fixture Table Plugs" rendering. It looks a lot better on my website than the phone picture that I took originally. Done in Blender, of course.

Just out of curiosity, is there any silicone in the material used to print those plugs? I'm in the paint booth industry so I have to ask!! haha

From my post in the vise thread:
I'm a bit late posting this since they've been live on my website for a little over a week now, so I apologize (I've been so busy!), but my Swiveling Mini Vise Stands are now available for purchase! The perfect mate to your No. 24 Mini Vise.

If this is your first time seeing the stands and vises, let me give you some info: I launched the No. 24 Mini Vise (pictured on stand) late last year to great enthusiasm from the you all. I knew the vise could only be topped by creating a stand for it. Not just any stand though, the coveted swiveling/portable railroad stand! Now you can purchase a No. 24 Mini Vise and M0317 Swiveling Mini Vise Stand (sold separately) to make a pair that will be sure to stand out in your collection. Just as the No. 24 is fully functional, the stand performs just like the full scale thing - with pivoting vise mount locked down with dual set screws.
Please, check out my website for more detailed information, images, and dimensions.

And duplicated from my thread in the Fabrication sub-forum:
Hey everyone, I just wanted to drop in and share that I've now verified that my 16mm plugs work in Siegmund, Langmuir, and PrimeWeld tables. So @Retroman sorry it took so long to let you know, but my 16mm plugs will work in your Langmuir ArcFlat.

I'm also very close to releasing 28mm Kovosu (and now West Weld) plugs. I'm having the packaging labels made right now. Look for them to be on my website in 8-10 days.

Also note @rharman I did include the package quantity on these new labels. Thanks again.

I wanted to also share some pictures and information about real world use of my Fixture Table Plugs in my shop.

Earlier this week, I had a production run of 30 parts that were short circuit MIG welded on my table, as well as metal finished in some spots. One stage of the welding had the weld joint elevated off the table to where I did not need a barrier between the part and the table. I took this opportunity to allow spatter to accumulate on the table surface, where you can see how the plugs were unaffected. What this also shows is a large reason why I created Fixture Table Plugs, the precision holes are completely protected from that welding spatter attaching itself and created a problem for tool insertion, requiring you to clean out the holes.

When I was metal finishing said parts, another area that inspired the plugs was shown. The grinding dust/grit/debris remained on top off the table surface, rather than gunking up the holes or falling through the table, coating whatever you store below. The plugs also made it much easier to broom off the top surface of the table, since it was not interrupted when sweeping.

And for something new - After approximately 4 years, I finally did some MIG welding in my shop! Long story short, I made an agreement with a local company (Type E Motorsports) to weld up some parts for them. This is the first batch of what will hopefully be a recurring arrangement, with other parts being made as well. Type E makes lowering kits for vintage VW's, so maybe some of you will recognize these parts?

I had a great time working in my shop again and getting back to the roots of my career. While not the most "fun" weld joints, it just felt good to be doing it. The parts are quite simple, but I'm happy with how they turned out despite having not done any MIG welding in so long.
