The pic below was of yesterday. Painted inside of the north side door and installed the track rollers.
IMG_3548.jpg

It was as hot as all get-out today, but I managed to get a few things done in the shop.
Today, I temporarily connected the air compressor to the air line(s) to check for leaks. surprisingly, there were none.
IMG_3550.jpg

After that, I installed line filters and a regulator at the work bench.

I did a bit more work on the shop.

I installed the north side doors last week. I'll need to install the stiles and glass at some point. The weather was supposed to get bad, so I parked one of my toolboxes against them for security.
IMG_3606.jpg

Then over the Memorial Day weekend, we completed the installation of the foam board insulation of that wall and began installing the re-purposed Tin. We've only got a few pieces to install on the ends, but that will have to wait for now.

Are you going to put some sort of seal along the bottom?
Yes. After all of the walls are up, I plan to pressure wash the floor. Once all is dry, I will apply 100% clear silicone sealant to the area, where the walls meet the floor. Once that's done, I'll apply two more coats of clear (matt finish) floor sealer.

Wife and I worked in the shop today, installing vertical studs to the horizontal galvanized building framework. The vertical studs will be used to attach 4'x 8' OSB boards. The re-purposed fence boards will be attached to the OBS.

I use these "L" brackets to attach the studs, but I ran out, so the work hit a standstill for the afternoon. I'll pick up more brackets tomorrow.

Since I didn't feel like doing anything else, I decided to relax with a few cold ones.

Plans are to get back to work in the shop tomorrow.

Haven't done much in the shop since I last posted. Been readying the north side terrain for concrete, scraping ground and building forms. It's been super-hot down here, so it's slow going. The breaks are lasting much longer than the actual work.

When I began prepping the site to build concrete forms, it was too freaking hot. I went as far as to set up a canopy to work under and placed two drum fans to help cool myself.
Now it's been raining almost every day. Not much rain but enough to slow down my progress. The dirt turns to mud, then by the time it's dry enough to resume work, it rains again.

I think I misunderstood your question.
The doors will have a silicone seal at the bottom, facing outward, and a nylon brush seal on each side.
------

Monday and Tuesday, my bride and I worked in the shop. We experienced cooler temps which made it fairly comfortable for work.

We completed the board insulation on the west wall, then applied double-bubble insulation to the back side of the OSB sheathing, before securing it to the framework.

Not shown is the completion of the wainscot. The sheathing will get a coat of flat-black paint before installing the horizontal re-purposed boards. Above the sheathing, we'll install more re-purposed Tin (vertically).

Thanks for the response. Bet you can't wait until this is finished. It's going to look good.
Yes. I can't wait.
-----------

After we finished attaching the sheathing, I drove to the local hardware store to pick up paint. I wanted to apply a dark color, to hide any background of the OSB, between the repurposed boards. They happened to have a pre-mixed gallon that was returned by a customer. I guess they didn't like it. It sort of looks like skid marks on in white undies.
It was only $10. (y)

My bride of 50 years volunteered to roll it on. ;)
IMG_4164.jpg

It's a good thing this color won't show.
IMG_4165.jpg

Today, we begin installing the repurposed fence board (horizontally).
When that's done, we finish installing the insulation at the peak(gable) of the wall, then install more repurposed Tin to complete the west wall.

I moved my work bench and toolbox next to the unfinished wall to make room for my neighbor's tractor/loader.
IMG_4177.jpg

This was the first real repair job in my new shop.
Please excuse the mess. ;)
IMG_4178.jpg

After ~10 or ~12 years, the loader cylinders seal began to leak at the rod ends. I disassembled all 4 cylinders to install new seals.
IMG_4199.jpg

The worst one had a few dings on the rod. I first checked the price of a new rod and the local dealer wanted ~$700. I cleaned the rod and mixed a small amount of JB Weld to fill the dings.
IMG_4181.jpg

A little trick for conforming the new piston seal after replacement. The new seal is stretched when installing it over the piston. Tighten a hose clamp over the new seal, place it in the freezer for an hour, then remove the hose clamp and re-assemble the cylinder.
IMG_4197.jpg

While it was in the shop, I drained the trans./hyd. oil, removed the sump screen to check for foreign material, replaced the hydraulic filter and re-filled with fresh oil.
IMG_4212.jpg

Sump screen.
IMG_4211.jpg

All went well and my neighbor is back in business. (y)

No charge for my labor, as he has loaned this tractor/loader to me many times since I moved here in 2020.

Got to love it when you can return the favor
That's for sure. (y)

Neighbor stopped by the house today to tell me the cylinders were still dry. He's been using the tractor to brush-hog his pasture and hasn't notices any leaks.

-----------

Wife and I worked some more on the west wall today. We're at the point where we will install the last few pieces of used Tin on the inner gable. After that, I begin placing the work bench, toolbox and storage cabinet, then install the 55" tv above my work bench. All is going well. :)

Wife and I finished (99.9%) of the west-wall late yesterday. (y)
I still have the vertical, inside corner trim to install. Need to tidy up the wiring under the work bench also.

IMG_4238.jpg

Need to build an access door to cover the breaker panel.
IMG_4239.jpg

IMG_4236.jpg

Our son walked over to visit and while he was there, gave me a hand installing the tv.
IMG_4240.jpg

Using my Cajun ingenuity, I made a switch-plate cover using one of my old license plates. ;)
IMG_4237.jpg

Wife and I will begin working on the shop's mid-wall today.

Late yesterday I assembled two garage wall-mount cabinets.
gladI.png
On the wall I intend to install these, I'll have room for one more, so I'll pick up another today.
I'll also pick up material for the shop's mid-wall, and with help from my bride, we'll begin working on that tomorrow. :)

Ok my curiousity is peaked. Looking forward to seeing what happens to this.
It'll get the same treatment as the west wall, only on a smaller scale.
We installed the OSB on the framing and wife painted it. Sorry, no pics. We hope to have time to install the repurposed fence boards tomorrow afternoon, but before that, I plan to wash my truck, my trailer and my old John Deere tractor, in preparation of the Tractor Show on Saturday.

OK. We have progress. Wife was a huge help today. (y)

Repurposed fence boards are up. Still need to add trim to the top. That'll come later.
Wall is 10' in length, 8' in height.
IMG_4261.jpg

Positioned a few useful tools against the wall. It's a test fit.
IMG_4265.jpg

Installed stringers on the backside of the wall to mount two metal cabinets.

Thanks, extremek & Bears Fan. (y)

Wife and I will get back to the mid-wall tomorrow. We don't have much left to do, as far as on that portion of the shop. The portion behind the mid-wall will be a small 10'x20' woodworking/tinkering/wood crafts area. It will be climate controlled. Wife wants me to help her with leaning to do wood crafting. I don't know how much help I can give her. I do have internet hard-wired to the room and am ordering a new lap-top to keep back there. This way, we can watch project videos to help us.

Began building the south-side of the mid-wall today. We ran out of J-trim, so I had to drive a few miles south to the metal shop, to have a 10' section made. Returned home, installed that section. By the time that was complete, it was beer:30.

The rest of the afternoon was shot. ;)
