Power is complete and guy wire relocated. This was done yesterday, still trying to get used to new guy wire location, it is not what I expected. However it does get it out of the way for the new shop.
Without the seeing the pole line I'm guessing that you saved about ten feet with the sidewalk guy but it had to stay in line with the old guy wire to keep the tension for the other poles. Your property is probably uphill of the feeder circuit that it is fed from. I'm glad that you were at least able to shorten the guy with a sidewalk.

You leaped frogged my build like Evil Knievel. Here I am still waiting for electricity after several weeks and I work for the power company. You managed to get electric service, a new bobcat, and avoid the pumper truck with a contractor with a powered wheelbarrow. :bs:I'm glad to see things are falling in line for you and the build.
From window shopping to delivery today 👍😉 This machine is Awesome!
Waaay too much tread life on those tires to be operated safely. I'm guessing that the hour meter is broken too. I'm such a nice neighbor that I'm willing to pick it up and take it off your hands. 😉

Thank you!! Squeaky wheel gets the grease...............................:ROFLMAO:

-Yes the property is uphill. (y) I am happy with the guy relocate. Saved at least 10 feet and got it out from the drive area.

-Power co. was great working with them. They recorded the inspection on 5/2 and hookup was 5/9. (y)

My concrete guy is local like my excavator and has been doing this his whole life, A great individual we are fortunate to work with.

The Bobcat is an awesome piece of equipment, been using it for some rock work already. This is the first piece of heavy duty equipment we have ever owned and think it was a great choice for the property....................Hopefully tires last a long time.;)

Why a four post instead of a two post?

Martin
Several reasons……….

-The lift will be for storage when not in use.
-Even though I don’t intend to move it, I like the idea of being able to.
-Plug into regular outlets, no special wiring. However I will do a dedicated circuit.
-Easy to drive onto for any maintenance work on vehicles, ATVs etc.

Wow, really looking good! I like a 4 post for storage but hate to work off one, especially brakes and tire rotations. Seems like they were a pain to work around on shocks and front end work also. Your place is sure shaping up real nice

Thanks JP! I am hoping I will enjoy working off it. I also got 2 of the hydraulic jack stands so I can lift all 4 tires off the ground at the same time to do my rotations.

Some updates. The 4 post lift was installed. Guys who installed this were great. It took about 3-4 hours. We love it, could not be happier with the decision to get an Advantage lift!

We got the 4 inserts so I can service and store the ATVs. Also 2 hydraulic jacks to be able to do tire rotations.
That looks very versatile and spaced far enough from the side walls to give you plenty of room to work on all sides. Did you end up getting a safety limit switch or shut off switch?

Thanks! It also came with casters and it is easy to move it around if we want. I haven't had any electrical work done yet other than the one 20 amp outlet needed to pass the electrical inspection for the power company. Right now just running an extension cord 12ga. to that one outlet.

Congrats on the new lift! Having those casters will be great as you nail down exactly where you want it. I back-ordered a sliding jack for my DirectLift back in March and it's supposed to ship this month. We'' see if I can get by with just one of them,

Thanks Brent! Yes, already used the casters and they are great. We were able to move it around while the spray foam on the roof was completed............................more to come with pics and info on that.

On Wednesday 6/8/22 the spray foam insulation was scheduled. The owner (local guy) and crew arrived around 0815 and got to work. They covered everything and he started spraying. The foam is closed cell. After a couple of hours, the owner told me he was not happy with how it was going. He said it will be better coverage, more consistent and more efficient if he used a lift.

I really appreciate he wants to provide the best service and product outcome possible. He scheduled to pick up a lift at 0700 the next morning and arrived back at the shop on Thursday to finish the job. They finished up around 1500 on Thursday. They returned first thing Friday morning and did some touch up on areas I wanted and they cleaned everything up.

We are very happy with the finished insulation. The crew did an awesome job and were very professional. Again we are lucky to have had great local guys work to work with on this project. We only had the roof done mainly due to cost. When I was getting quotes in February it was at $6500. End cost for the roof was $8500. However, the PPB who put up the building wanted $5500 I believe for a vapor barrier, which is basically a sheet of plastic on the roof. There was no way I was paying that for plastic! We did everything else correctly with this project and I did not want to cut corners on the roof insulation.

I hate to say this but I would say you only got about 1" of thickness. If you had 2", you would not be able to see the edge of the 1.5" thick purlins.
Yes I see looking at the pics some areas are definitely sprayed thicker than others. Still happy with the outcome and whatever the thickness, still better than plastic sheeting...............

During the spray foam insulation we also got to use the lift casters for the first time. I have to say it is a joy to be able to move the lift around easily. The crew moved it during the insulation, but when they were done my wife and I positioned it where we wanted it.

Also completed a small easy project for all of our shovels, garden tools, etc. I did not want to put them in a cabinet or those stupid plastic holders. I also had some of those clips you screw to the wall and I don't care for those either. This worked perfectly and they fit in the dead space between the posts. We just used some 1x2x8 and screwed them into the posts to keep them organized.

I always looks for new posts from you! I absolutely love your garage story! One thing you might think about with your shovel/tools storage is rust on the floor with the handles in the "up" position. I do prefer hanging them upside down so things stay off the floor. Looking good!! So now what's next???
