So does everybody get different items in there box i would of thought it was like any other subscription box where everybody gets the same items every month.
Of course you need two of each size, how the hell else do you get nuts off bolts?
Wondering the same.So does everybody get different items in there box i would of thought it was like any other subscription box where everybody gets the same items every month.
This thread is quite entertaining.
I'm going to do this same thing. I'm going to take all of my extra CMan RP wrenches, package them individually, and mark "$100 value!" on each one. Is it too late to file a Paypal claim?
It is actually very sad. This thread is quite entertaining.
Wouldn't it be North Carolina?By chance do the packages have a return address on them ? Any chance that they were sent from Chicago ?
I found this flyer today on the bulletin board at the range.
...
180 days to make a claim with paypal
i'll be honest, i opened a claim. i don't mind getting 40 dollars of junk, its still 40 dollars of junk i could find a spot for. but getting 12 dollars worth of stuff for 20 bucks is dumb, they can keep it for that price. all they had to do was do what they claimed, make the value between 40-200. i doubt anything they put in a package was valued at 200 bucks. hell i could claim half the **** i own was 50-60% more valuable than it is if i quoted grainger for prices!
I would imagine the average person who doesnt belong to a deals forum would think they are getting a pretty good deal, but given some of the deals provided here it will be a tough crowd to please.
No ****!I am really surprised anybody fell for this and then complained when they didn't get something nice!

From their website:
"We are based in NC and collect tools from various sources including liquidations, clearance sales and many other places."
Plus, from the OP:
From what is pictured, you can bet the person is a member here or at least slickdeals. Given that it was 20 or less he's making what 1-10 bucks after shipping each one.
For those that aren't happy with their "mystery box"... What exactly did you think you were going to get?

Do you complain when the scratch off tickets you bought are all losers too?

I think some of you may be reading too much into this. I seriously doubt that these mystery boxes (envelopes) are the sole form of revenue for this guy's business. I'd bet the stuff coming in these is dead stock from a larger tool business, and this is simply a clever angle on liquidating stock that isn't moving. As many have mentioned, I doubt there's much, if any, profit in this. More likely a way to recoup some amount of investment on tools that aren't otherwise selling.
http://www.sears.com/master-forge-6pc-combination-wrench-set-mm/p-00947987000PRegular price $39.99

It's the regular price because they say it's the regular price. Please tell me you don't actually believe that $39.99 is the regular price on those.
It's not an excuse, it's fact.If this is really the excuse for the $40-200 range, then it's complete garbage
Why did you have this feeling ?I had a feeling this would be the case, which is why I refrained from buying in.
It's the regular price because they say it's the regular price.
It's not an excuse, it's fact.
It's just sales hype.
If you consider that garbage, fine.
Why did you have this feeling ?
Is it because even though you are raging against it, you knew they would base their prices off the regular price ?
Here's how it works, according to one industry consultant describing an actual sweater sold at a major retailer. A supplier sells the sweater to a retailer for roughly $14.50. The suggested retail price is $50, which gives the retailer a roughly 70% markup. A few sweaters sell at that price, but more sell at the first markdown of $44.99, and the bulk sell at the final discount price of $21.99. That produces an average unit retail price of $28 and gives the store about a 45% gross margin on the product.
Retailers didn't always price this way. It used to be that most items were sold at full price, with a limited number of sales to clear unsold inventory. That began to change in the 1970s and 1980s, when a rash of store openings intensified competition and forced retailers to look for new ways to stand out.
I suppose the regular price for this hose reel is $309? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002LQ7WKM/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1420944533&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70
Despite it never, ever being sold for that price on Amazon.
I got my shipping label days ago but it has still not updated. Pisses me off that i am one of the first ones to order and it is taking this long they lost my business for sure they blew this opportunity big time.
