72 inch rollercabinet as of 2 minutes ago is no longer on hf's site the 56 and the 13 drawer still are.
its been gone for months. The existing stock was clearanced last year.

doesn't Greg smiths sell the same box at a better price/ But i do think you have to go pick it up its only available at one of the stores but i think you can get the 56'' by shipment. Just a thought but strictly tools are part of our site.

I called HF and they said that this toolbox is no longer carried. I spoke to someone in managemnet at HF and they told me it was no longer "feasable" to carry this item. I think what has happened in the last year and a half is that this toolbox has been such a huge success that Sears, Northern Tool, and a few other places in the United States and Canada have begun selling this exact same toolbox (from the exact same factory in China) for a lot more money (and under a different toolobx name). In many cases these other retailers are charging $1000-$3000 more than HF was selling the exact same toolbox for. The China factory where these are made has realized it can selll the same toolbox for much more money to Sears and Northern Tool. The factory got their start selling to HF because HF is one of the largest importers of Chinese made tools and merchandise and has been for decades. They introduced this toolbox to HF and very soon realized that with its great quality they could sell it ot Sears and other US retailers for a lot more money than they were seling it to HF for. I really do think this is the sad reality. I'm just glad when I started this thread that some people were able to take advantage of the great price that HF was selling it for before they discontinued carrying it.

Is the 72" version still available? I saw it advertised about one year ago but not since then. The 56" version is currently on sale for $800 until the end of the month but I'd really prefer the longer one.

I'm confused: the big toolboxes at the harbor freight near me are the cheapest pieces of **** I have ever seen in my entire life. I didn't know metal could be that ******. They don't carry anything that looks like those pics. Not in the market for one, just curious

Is Harbor Freight still offering the 60" tool chest? I didn't see it in their online catalog.

At the Northern website it says Ship Weight: 1200.0 lbs for the Torin box, was the packing and pallet/crate 320 lbs?
Could be the identical box, the weight just caught my eye (I like small light boxes I can move myself, downside no place to put the long stuff), seemed like a heavy *** pallet/crate or maybe not the exact box? Could be as simple as someone got the wrong weight? Just curious.
Stupid me, I cant seem to find anything larger than the 56inch box on the HF website. There a special website you all are looking at? My local HF is also only selling the 56inch as the largest box. Ive got the 44inch and it works great but wouldnt mind upgrading.

Thanks for reviewing this. I've read a lot about weld quality / spot welding. do you think just because welding is 'visible' it does not bode well as a solidly machined unit? (you stated 'nit picky' so I assume not, but wanted to hear your thoughts.) Also another point to make about China. I hear quality is rising in chinese made products. I think it's a tough call, as it depends on who is ultimately dealing the product. That "middle man" company should be doing quality checks before this stuff goes out to the public. Very interesting about the changing labels but all from same chinese co. Seems companies who are concerned about reputation would not sell something they did not believe was a good product. Esp. on forums, people find out the truth of the matter real quick! Pics are impressive, nice tool box, thank you for posting.
Sears use to carry it under the name Wolf for $2200 and it has been discontinued too, I heard that the company that makes them got greedy and stopped selling them to harbor freight and sears and some other companies in Canada and they have a contract now with northern tools under the name Torin for $3000 plus $1200 shipping.

Costco brings a 72" roller in sometime around late fall to mid Jan. each year. Search for it. They seem to only bring them in in a limited batch each time so it's hit or miss on finding one.
That said, the HF pricing on these was outstanding for the level of quality and much like the 44/41" roller bottom and top. That said, the 44/41 set that's still available, along with the 56" have all seen price increases since their introduction and the best you hope to do today is still about $75-90 more than the coupon prices that were available on the 44/41 sets three or four years ago. The 56" has gone up by about $125 from what I can figure out from old postings here. I suspect a HF 72", if it were to return today, would be about $150-$175 more than it was when this thread was started.
If the fine folks at HF are still reading in this thread, please do consider bringing the 72" back for a year or two in place of the 56" model. I think you'll find there would be a lot of buyers in the market for one, especially if you put a high strength top on the thing, something like hockey puck material would be awesome.
