All I can think about is how sore my back would be and how numb my hands would be from all of that wire wheeling. No one can accuse you of taking the easy way out, that's for sure!

My back is killing me, trust me and if these would have fit, you bet your *** they would be set up and loaded down, rust and all by now![emoji38]once i started cutting and welding, i had time to start wire wheeling and since i started i cant stop now. Whats worse, i have severe ocd and have been to tractor supply, lowes, home depot and sherwin williams looking for some paint for them. Some stores twice over the past few days. I have enough black or red to paint them entirely or two tone but have been looking for something else.
Nine, you need an alarm on your shop!

I'm trying to get a feel of where I need to run my outlets on the other side of my shop and have been cleaning/organizing along the way. I had this old seat cover from a 66 Mustang that I saved when redoing a car a while back for just this kind of reason. I was looking at the new layout of my sewing table and it hit me, make a sewing machine cover out of it.

Upcycled 66 Mustang seat cover becomes sewing machine cover:

Just (finally) got through this entire thread, love your work, had to check what another trimmer has happening in their shop! I like the sewing machine cover you whipped up, a good idea. I made up some for my machines just last week as it goes, this is what I put together:

Here is a side project I will be working on later, it's an industrial school surplus woodworking butcher block table that Merc gave me. It's huge, 54"x 64" and 2-1/2" thick! I used up the last of the can of stripper I had sitting around to see how much paint is on there. There is a LOT of paint on there. :(

Nines, see you've been trying to track down just the right paint and Color.:lol_hitti
Looks like I'm going with the Majic paint from TS. I called and spoke to their technical today to see what I could use for reducer instead of the $12 pint that they sell. For over 50% humidity, mineral spirits would the choice. Got to talking with this guy and learned a little bit.
He said to shoot in two light coats,24 hours apart. He said any sooner and the first coat would have a chance to gas out, as it dries from the outside in.
I've always laid a coat down and came back with a nice wet coat on top and had good results, this is fine with this paint, just have to do while first coat is still wet.
Majic is evidently a serious paint company as he was telling about the labs and field testing they do. I've always thought they were just a side brand.
Anyway, sharing info.

Hey, thanks for the info CB and i dont even want to talk about colors... i should have had that rack up by now but instead im steady packing more **** in here. I just picked up a matching woodworking table with 4 vices and since i dont want the wood wet, the rack will be out in the rain for a few days. I get to wire wheel the parts all over again, yay. :willy_nil

Here is the link to the tables new. They're made by Diversified Woodcraft in the USA and have a 25 year warranty. It says they are maple and weigh in at 445 lbs!! Looking at the Shain Collection there, I think I am going to put metal cabinets below at least one of these for storage.

He must smell the cat that's been all over them. He looks comfy. I'll be around anytime you want to call. After 5:00 you might have to speak a little slower as I'll probably have had a few by then. It is Friday after all.

I thought you'd be too tired to do anything today after your big outing with Merc.

Hey Nines, i shot some of the Majic paint, it lays on nice, seems to level itself out nicely even without doing a heavy wet pass.
I used regular mineral spirits and all worked out great.
I'll post up photos tonight on my thread.

The other great thing about this paint is you can get the matching color in a spray can for touch ups.

How's your racking coming?

Alway enjoy seeing the dog in the shop. Can't always have mine there as there gone when a critter is spotted.

Nines that wood working table looks great, no wonder your back is sore.

Hope you get better soon, we all need your updates for motivation.

Dan, she lays on every seat cover i get and is usually first to test the new seat covers when im done.[emoji38]
Thanks cbacres, i grabbed a gallon can of Majic red when i was in there the other day on sale for $11, couldnt pass it up. We welcomed a first grandchild into the family thurs/friday of last week so between that and my tweaked back, the rack is still unfinished. Its supoosed to rain this week so i will knock out Dans seat covers and then get back on shop ****.

Thanks Strouty, i have two matching woodworking tables now, one with the four Columbian 7CD vises i bought a week after Merc gave me the first one. Merc kept the four vises from it, thats going to be my "clean assembly table", i'll use the one with vises for teardown and general work.

Btw, you guys are the real motivators!

Woodworking table looks good under all that paint.

Gonna need a bigger bucket of stripper. Looks like it got a coat every year.

Had a great grandmother who white washed everything every year or so. Including up about four feet on the oak trees. Never understood that one.

I think the tree theory is preventing bugs but i may be wrong. I will definitely need more stripper, i need to get some wide plastic wrap too and lay over the stripper while it's wet and it will last much longer. It was evaporating fast open.

Probably this. Many fruit/nut trees get this treatment I know.

Haven't tested my machine since I got it back from the tune up so I ran some thread through it last night and this is what came out.

Okay, but do NOT try this with your machine!! What you are about to see here should not be attempted at home, this was done by a trained professional...monkey...me. :D

If this works out(I'll know in 7 hrs), Merc will be PISSED and he don't even know it yet!

The integrated motor went out and I got the planer for scrap, I had a treadmill motor on it for a while but it was not an optimum setup. This is far from optimum but it's more functional and may allow me to trade up. We will see shortly, if nothing else I have a working machine again.

Thanks Dan, the koozie will be a functional piece of wall art for you! The planer works fine, I will be attempting a trade up in a couple hours with it, that's what I'm hoping works.

This pic is for Outlaw, I know how much you like using hinges on motors!

A machine that you feed thread to it and it spits out a beer in a cooler, yeah I'll take one:lol_hitti:beer:

What kind of thread do I feed to get a Bud Select?

9's,
I've got a top like that. Found it in the garage of an abandoned house up the street.

I'll have to keep that in mind, I have a spare 1-1/2HP to use.
