It's been a while since we've had a hail claim but I'm almost positive it'll all wait until harvest. He’ll probably divert it until harvest. I’m glad you’re covered
You're probably correct but Amazon still is taking over the world and killing local businesses. It's just the next evil Goliath until the next.one comes along. I've talked to a number of people that have said they've started shopping at Walmart again Instead of ordering off Amazon. Seems silly but Walmart is now the "good" guy againcheaper to have amazon to fulfillment than stock your own warehouse space.

It would seem to be so !! Going to hopefully build a machine shed to turn into a farm shop fall of 2020 !!JBL: I need to make more time to catch up on your adventures cause you don't slow down for a second. so another big building is in the works?
funny you should say that cause I try to buy from local stores other than ordering online, but I still have to order some things online just because local guys can't carry everything. of course my favorite store is CRAIGSLIST!!
cheers and keep up the good work!!
Thinking about it the movie Wall-E is actually a bit spooky with all that is going on today with the recycling and trash industries in the world .....amazon really is pure capitalism.......
tl:dr both bad. amazon badder. RIP little guy. Wall-E is our future. buy more!
amazon really is pure capitalism.
walmart: finds a good product they want to sell. ask to buy 100,000 units forcing the mom and pop to invest serious money into increasing capacity. once that run is done walmart offers to reorder another 100,000 units but now at 60% the price of the last run. the mom and pop has sunk costs into extra capacity they need to pay for so their hand is forced.
amazon: Lets anyone put anything up for sale. they have all the risk in bringing the product to market (unlike walmart who had to order the first run of product). the little guy sends his thing to amazon. then as orders grow the little guy sends stuff direct from factory to amazon. amazon records the incoming labels and links the factory to the product. When enough orders come thru amazon then you get amazon basics group asking the factory for a private run. now the little guy who took all the risk is cut out cause amazon going direct is something every factory wants.
Walmart isn't going down without a fight. they started offering "subscription free two day". Amazon in turn started offering 1 day in major metros for everything as part of prime. I think it will end up same day from both walmart and amazon. no one else can really compete at same day.

Not if the little guy makes his own thing..

then amazon follows the walmart model with large orders forcing a capacity increase before a forced price drop.![]()
Neither are good.
this feels like the beer drinking discussion after a long day in the field. someone fire up the disk grill thing.

So follows with the worse Walmart way, which somehow makes walmart better. Right...
I'm in for all of this. The disk grill thing makes some amazing steak and potatoes and I'd imagine a beer or two could disappear while consuming the goodness that comes off that worn out used to dig in poop tillage tool !!Neither are good.

Don't tease me with a good time. When will you arrive ???Amen!
OP, we'll both bring a 30-rack if you're cooking![]()
I had the same debate for different reasons. No lake house here but I thought the double/triple burner would be nice but couldn't figure out why .... When we camp we almost exclusively cook over a campfire so no need for it there and when I want to use the Wishek Wok at home I'll do a campfire or this monster burner. Honestly, this thing is WAY overkill but I wanted a large frame burner and this one is 16" square. Thanks for the link, sorry for the derail on the thread. I'm balancing the whole "MOAR POWAA" in my head with the desire for a double/tripple burner setup. I don't want it to have issues getting my cast iron stuff hot but at the same time I'm trying to basically set up a fully portable kitch replacement for the lake house (prefer not to heat up the stove/oven when possible) and besides a full size flat top (next summer, I suspect) the burners for sweet corn/etc are the last piece of the puzzle. Our grill doesn't have a side burner despite being propane but I never find those side burners to put out enough heat anyway so I figured a stand alone was a better option.
I was reading it thinking I could use the beer keg to cook sweet corn and then the brewing beer thing came about and it got me thinking ....You could always get a beer keg, cut the top out of it and make a brew pot for brewing beer. I have a burner like that on my brewing set up.
Quaker Road Brewery sounds catchy.

On my grill I cook everything on a Lodge Cast Iron flat skillet. I've never understood letting the fat/juices drip down and away from the meat. Everything from salmon to steak is sooooo much better cooked on a solid surface !!
I have spare time from 10PM to 5AM everyday I could fit something else in if neededIn your spare time from your 3 full time jobs.

50 cents for 16oz isn't that bad but unless I can make me something similar to some Captain Morgan I'm out. I haven't met a IPA or micro-brew that I've liked enough to have it again unfortunately. I do not like dark beer or flavored beers. Naterdays on the other hand .... they're quite tasty considering who makes them !!We use ours for corn as well, could also be used for deep fry.
We have a 30 gallon boil pot that will yield about 26 gallons in the fermenter .
It takes about 6 hours from start to finish to brew and around 10 days to ferment. Some beers like IPA you can drink after 10 days others need to be aged.
Its better to let them age a little, most of the time we think the last pint is the best.
It cost about 50 cents a pint of beer for us to brew.
I hear you on that last part. I just bought myself a 28" griddle a couple weeks back and the only thing I've used my grill for since is holding my beer and using it as a shelf to hold my tools. I did throw it a small bone last night grilling some hot dogs and some frozen chicken burgers. I am absolutely loving the griddle!

I think I am okay knowing you don't imagine me while I am sleepingJBL: I can't imagine you even sleeping with all that you have going on. i'm guessing you believe in the theory of you can sleep when you are dead, but that said I know you take a little time to smell the roses.
speaking of which I might have missed the posts, but did you take the family out in the bus/camper for a few days and how was the new countertop?
cheers and keep on thinking and working towards your dreams and you'll get there i'm certain of it.

I think I am okay knowing you don't imagine me while I am sleeping
I'm sure it's a few pages back now but the bus didn't want to stay running due to a dirty tank so friends of friends loaned us their camper to use for a weekend and we ended up purchasing a 27' 2002 bumper tow camper to use now. Mama Bear is happier because we're "less" redneck by not using the bus and I'm happier because she says she's happier.

Sadly for now the bus is going to be retired. It's been running great since I put a MONSTER fuel filter setup on it but we purchased a bumper tow camper to use now. It's a nice camper but it'll get pulled with the bus one day .... soonJBL: sorry to hear about your bus issues, but I bet when you get time (what is that and can you buy some extra you say) you'll have it fixed and good to go the next time you have a family trip.
have a great weekend and love to see dirt moving around cause that means new buildings are in the works.
cheers

They aren't as little as I remember either .... Time sure does fly !! Lily is going to be a 1st grader this yearThe little people aren't as little as I remember.
Don't blink!!
That pan scraper is sure the tool for the job. Better than a dozer for a long move and about as good as for short. I assume it does a great fob of skimming to level too, at least until you compact.

If you haven’t started tiling yet cement board is longer lasting.

If you haven’t started tiling yet cement board is longer lasting.
Wait . . .
That sheetrock lasts over 50yrs
(caddyman is right some mornings just can't help myself)
definitely would not use plywood unless ya going with one of those plastic shower wall kits.
Which will be fine until you tear down the house and start on Mama bear's dream home.
Yeah .... it only needs to last a few years. I gave serious thought to caulking around the treated plywood and calling it good but Mama Bear made me put in a cheap glue in surround to keep it looking halfway decent. It didn't turn out too bad.Well the man did say he was installing a glue on surrounding in the shower. So pressure treated wood should be fine for the application as long as it don't leak in a seam. Otherwise cement board might be better.
Labor Day would be a fine day to season and use the Wok !!!I see that Wok is getting a workout! I've yet to season my wok, and I feel ashamed too. I was moving stuff around in the garage the other day and I gather all of my cooking appliances and currently working on how to store everything. I'm thinking of getting a miniature shed deal that can house the items by my grilling area so it's easier to setup instead of having to run around the place to get everything together. Maybe Labor Day will be the day that I cook in the Wok!

Yeah we all went a few days without showering. It was getting a bit ripe in the house !!JBL: nice work on the bathroom and I bet with a bride and 3 little kids it needed to be done quick too.
I hope you get a bit of dry weather so you can finish the dirt work for your new barn/building, but it's starting to rain early here in the PNW (usually doesn't rain in August) so best of luck with that.
hope you are getting some rest in between all the eating and work and remodeling.
cheers
