Not mine, but a buddy's score today (he was faster than me) from our trip down-valley:

Crucible steel!

L. Gueutal, France. I think the M. G. (or C) is an owner's mark.

Nice box joints, still nice and tight after well over 100 years.

A little Googling found a tiny bit about L. Gueutal. Early-to-mid 19th century maker of watchmaker's and jewelers tools. That's about it.

A pair of needle nose pliers. Made in Spain. It also has decorative handles. I couldn’t find a manufacturer on the pliers.

Blue Bird #52 battery post pliers. Also a pair of Gray #52 pliers. I’m assuming they are the same type of pliers.

A small pair of needle nose pliers. No visible manufacturer markings.

I came across this thread and laughed, 'At least I don't have a pliers problem' only have a few. :) a couple in some wall cabinets.

Then, I checked my display/storage cabinets and grouped them together

Maybe I do have a pliers problem, I know there are more multigrips in tool kits and some new Channellocks somewhere. :(

^ Not nearly enough there.
I'm not seeing any 11-inchers, or any of the 90-degree offset needle-noses in there!
Come on, get with the program!
The options are without end!
I know it's frightening, Love the Peterson -Dewitts, had to import the parrott nose set from US, as an original pr I had was borrowed used and abused without my knowledge, best tool I've ever had, daily or close to it anyway use for 10 years in my Valiant/Chrysler wrecking yard, only for some **** to borrow and use them as a hammer.

Can't resist a good pr, but limit myself to those and pre-2000 Sidchome ( normal moved to asia **** after that)

2 Knipex have crept in which I really like also, but you'll be displeased to know I've manfully resisted buying some Cobras for over 9 months now- been so close quite a few times thou and will more than likely succumb at some point.

Also, not nearly enough vintage plain steel grip pliers... :see:
I'm trying, the Sidcrome plain metal and red wrapped are virtually impossible to find, and I'm not paying the ridiculous $150+ prices they go for at auction, The red gripped Sidchromes date back to the 60's, that's vintage according to every seller on EBAY if it's more than a yr old, and I don't enjoy using the metal handled ones anyway.

Was looking for a few years to replace a vintage set of nippers, but couldn't find what I wanted and ended up with Knipex as they were the best price/quality option, then stumbled on a new Channellock, blue wrapped grips for 20% of new price and and it was a fine, can't pass that up. Just after that a silly seller popped up with a 1980's 'as new pr' of Sidchrome with a Buy it now price of $35 AUD, so I said OK, only seen one other pr for sale in 5 yrs, they went for north of $400AUD, and of course after that a friend gave me the original metal handled nippers I'd been looking for as a gift-all happened over 6 weeks so now I have 4 prs when I only wanted one

Looks like a modern, offshore, and vise-grip-esque version of the antique, American-made Never-Stall. Or the offspring of its mating with something like below with a poll and claw (mine on left, old auction/not mine on right). Clearly built on a modern vise-grip frame, which was... not a bad idea!

Pliers are easy to dismiss and misplace. Eventually you need one. Or find another one at that sale . . .
Craftsman Water Pump Pliers, Non-Slip
I have a bunch of different ones, something in my collection will work.

Possibly Oak Leaf? A Shapleigh brand if so.
I don’t think so. The Enders/Shapleigh/Simmons Oak Leaf has nine lobes, and is horizontal. This has four lobes. I think overall, that pliers looks German-made.

I'd like to buy a vowel.
Is there an "A"?

Is there a "D"?

I'll solve the puzzle, Chuck... DANIELSON?

:ROFLMAO:

I meant to answer that yesterday but forgot.... I think it's J.P. Danielson

They made plenty of pliers in various configurations. Most of these have been posted upthread.

Thanks Guys! you nailed it!

20-20 hind-site I should have searched for that string in my pliers inventory Excel tab - but I had it misspelled anyway so... :wtf:

Big fan of my lone pair of Danielson gas pliers. Found them in a pile of painting supplies a few months ago at a yard sale. I was looking for a nearly identical Proto pair at the time. Took it as a sign. Convinced me to scoop up any other Danielson I come across but they're rarer than good steak around here. Don't sleep on JPD!IMG_20260418_121711166_HDR~3.jpg

I hate to admit, I’ve never seen their logo in real life until today. Glad I wasn’t very definitive.
