Well well well, I was worried you would be gone forever. Sure is glad to see you back on here again. You have missed quite a few deep dives and odd turns of this thread but all in all we are mostly the same crew of nerdy, overzealous and often eccentric collectors who enjoy the almighty plomb! Come to think of it I think that you missed the “anvil chorus” discovery and also the paschall can opener deep dives.
After a more thorough search, I found that my ultra rare NAF 1/4” drive set has some 1940 date codes. Probably why they are so rare.I checked pictures of all of my other Plomb NAF marked tools and couldn’t find another with a date code, unfortunately.

I know what you mean. My wife and I did some casual reselling over the past 3 years but this year we stopped. The market really tanked this past year on decor and tools. I actually gave away all my spare resell tools (no plomb or Proto) after my last garage sale earlier this year. I’m a lot more picky now if I get something to resell . It has to be a good flip and has to really make it worth my time.
^ Sales for me on ebay have tanked since the first of the year. I think I've sold all of three items in the last month - total profit maybe $10 bucks on all of it - nickel and dime stuff.
Looks like a 1931 rasp handle. That is the earliest one I have seen. The later ones the handle runs parallel with the rasp.Here's an odd ball Plomb. Did Plomb make these or did someone just piece one together with a Plomb part?
Catching up on the thread. I have this wrench along with 4", 6", and this 12". I can grab some pics later. Narrowing down the list only 5 non transitional spots let to fill of the Plomb adjustables which has 5 distinct patterns outside of the transitional.I saw this adjustable wrench listed on eBay this morning and it doesn’t make any sense to me. Wrong jaw configuration, round O Plomb, broached hanging hole, no date code. Any thoughts?

Nice early Utica variant! Those are a difficult one to find. I think they were the 1st Plomb adjustables circa 1938.Based on how few of the Diamond Plomb I’ve run across, they likely must have been a limited contract to fill Plomb wartime commitments. I’ll keep an eye out for one for my collection. The Utica supplied adjustables were finished nicely as well.

It would be the 3/4" breaker bar in this picture. 57 & 58 are 3/4" extensions.

It arrived today and I was totally surprised to see that it was a marked example, the first I’d seen in person.
Here are some pictures of it with the other tools in the set.
