Seems like I've seen pictures of a similar spanner wrench before in one of the old Plomb catalogs. Maybe for a packing nut of some sort. Here are some brake spring pliers and something else. Says plomb 6540

That's a war club!
What a steal! Condition looks incredible too.Was able to get out to an estate sale and was rewarded for the effort. Been collecting plomb for many years and never ran across one in the wild.

Special Water Pump Spanner, for assembling the water pump in a 1937 V8-60 flathead. Page 63, Catalog 17B (1939). EDIT: That's the second water pump wrench we've collectively turned up in 10 days! See my more conventional type, a No. 3644, here, which is shown on the same catalog page. Here are some brake spring pliers and something else. Says plomb 6540
mrbill sent me an excellent round handle ratchet for my 1/2”drive set and it’s getting close to complete. Just a few pieces on the way to complete the set (except for the crossbar which may be a long time coming). Here is a sneak preview.

I was wondering why you haven't hit me up for the swivel socket I just found, but looking at your set reminds me that you have four (4) that I found last year! ***** getting old!
Looking great, Bill.

I think the ripple offset is factory, but I wonder if there was a box end on the other end before it got lopped off by someone, or if it was a factory single end. What does it look like? Hand finished? I guess there would be another size marking on the shank if there was originally a box on the other end.
Nice! I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a 1232 1" combo pebble and 1218 combo pebble to finish out my combo set.As posted in the G sale thread, got some tools in today that had a 1" Plomb pebble combo and a Califtool wrench in the mix!
Thanks!!!I prob have an extra of both! Ill look tonight!

Thanks!!!![]()
Love that 3062 Catfishdan. Those are hard to find, I've been looking for one along time.

With help from mrbill, username, Smokeshow and others, my new 1/2” drive set is complete except for the pin handle. All of the 32” sizes are now included that it should have come with. I’ve added some extras shown in the lower pictures and finally took one of all the green sets together.

Thanks!!!![]()
It fit in the flex handle and extensions originally. It should also fit the deep sockets I added as extras. I have a bar in the set that I had lying around but it isn’t the correct one.

Thanks, Ragtop! Appreciate it! Don't see many Plombs in the wild up here in the Northeast.I have 1232 for sure and list 2 1218s in my spreadsheet but find either one ... ill keep looking next day off work got another batch of wrenched in my brother's shop.
Wow, that’s a lot of Plomb! Here are better pictures showing the groove in the crossbar in the ‘39 3/8” set.

Don,
Could you have got that 3/8" set to shine any more?! That is nice and congrats on the 1/2" set.
RagTop,
Just FYI, the 18A catalog shows the length of 5466PH at 11 1/2". You could check yours against that, but I can't be certain that it should have a detent ball. That almost sounds more like a sliding bar handle which did have detent balls. If the pics are to scale in the catalog then the sliding bar handle is longer than the pin handle.

no problem, hope I can find those and get your set completed!
The set looks great. I really like the box with the label intact. Thanks again for your help!Just wanted to show you guys my newly completed plomb 1/4 drive set #4700b. Thanks to d42, we worked out a trade to help each other complete each other's sets and I could not be happier! I have never found a 1/4 pebble in the wild and don came to the rescue! I also got 2 missing sockets and the sliding T bar from him. I do use my plomb so I am glad to have a complete set I can use for small jobs.
