Nice grab. Hit me up if you want to trade off that bar.Found a very rough combo and a pretty nice 3/8" breaker from 1930.
Very nice. Hard to find those early pliers!I went to a sale Friday where a guy was downsizing. Among the items I bought were two Plomb brake spring pliers. I almost left behind the rustiest one, but decided that it wouldn't make much difference in a bundled price, and I was right.
When I got home, I compared them because the handle ends were a little different. That is when I discovered that one was an LA version and the other was a USA version. Not only that, but they had different part numbers! LA is 2015 and USA is 215. This matches the catalogs for the respective eras.
Both are rusty and abused, but it makes things interesting to find out details like this!

Smoke, you have a lot more persistence and interest than I do! I've thrown better boxes into the scrap metal. Nice work.
Looking good. Let me know when it is done so I can send you my address [emoji4]Getting closer. Tray welded back in and inside in primer!

Impressive work Smokes!

I am only kidding. It looks great! Well done.[emoji849][emoji849][emoji23][emoji23]. We already have each others addresses and it would take a fairly good trade to get this out of my cold hands. I have about 35 hours into it to make it look this good

Nice save! That thing was rough.
That would be me. I should have them tonight as the seller is local to me so I arranged to pick up rather than risk the mail losing them.
And yes, I will be glad to share pictures of them when I get them.
Thank you! I tried talking the seller into taking pictures but got crickets. I didn't want the information to be lost. That would be me. I should have them tonight as the seller is local to me so I arranged to pick up rather than risk the mail losing them.

The bigger one is mid 20s the one on the left smaller one I think is not known in the original list amongst the collectors. I you need help dating them I know a guy.The info definitely won't be lost. I know how unique these are, the bigger one of the 2 I believe is from 1923 or so, so quite possibly one of the earliest around.
In time I might even scan these so they can be viewed by others.
Paint is curing in the oven per the can recommended time and temp ... I might possibly be dead by the time some of you read this[emoji23] if so my last know location is... and rileysan has the power of attorney on said tools [emoji23]

Very interesting. Is there a catalog number on the smaller one?So I now have them in my possession. The smaller one says that Plomb has been making tools for 18 years, the bigger one says they have been making tools for the last 16 years.
So if they are founded in 1907, the bigger one is 1923, the smaller would be 1925?

I just realized I have two sockets marked with a 9 for 1939, but one says USA, the other is marked LA. Normal?
