So I haven't been able to do much off and on, and had shoulder surgery 5 weeks ago to fix that. While I'm getting back up to speed I called in a buddy to get her to a useable point.

Tomorrow roof underlayment. The old metal back on. Wrap it, then siding...

Phase 2 will start soon after that...

The first section is finally about done. Just needs siding and a few odds and ends. Now to get it ready for phase 2.

Thanks. I have a ton of build pics I didn't post as life kind of got in the way.

But that portion is more or less the center. Going to piddle with it somewhat this weekend and get ready for phase 2. Need to go through the original barn tongue and groove and see what's useable. Maybe put the two windows in. And plan, plan, plan.

The summary. Hmmm... The pics posted so far yesterday and today are from yesterday and today. Between weather, work, new daughter, and both shoulder and knee issues I was stuck at the roof joists for a while. Then I got them all done and needed to finish the sheathing and put the roof on. Yeah I didn't post here, and did miss taking pics of some progress. But had a buddy send some of his crew over Monday to finish the sheathing, and put on the roof and wrap it.

Thanks. It'll be one of the first things to actually get finished once the shop is ready.

Had some help today and stood up the lift. Got a couple anchors in each post for the moment. Will finish up during lunches this week.

Things are still happening, 10 weeks since shoulder surgery, in a month knee surgery, but I'm determined to get this portion of it useable. So today I framed some more of it. And started on the carriage doors.Got one side done for the most part, just need to finish hanging it and then I'll do side two.

It's finally coming along, I'm just about at the point where I need to rent a bobcat and grade all the way around it.

Most of it is old tongue and groove, what isn't will be caulked. I'm debating using deck sealer on it.

but I didn't get anything done today, to much rain...

I am from California so we do not get snakes on properties so excuse my ignorance. But are those poisonous snakes? or are they typical garden snakes? Just the color of them reminds me of king cobras. All in all I would trade my sunny skies for that nice green vegetation.

Non-poisonous. And they do so much good, they keep the poisonous ones away as well as rodents. If you have old cars you know how destructive rodents are.

Damn, barns and binders? My kinda thread!

Barns, Buicks, and Binders.... oh my!

I found the whole Nationwide Insurance sign on the side of the road. I had the Nationwide portion hanging in my old shop for a long time. Though the Insurance is now only sin.

Still plinking away. Started sheathing around the inside. Getting ready to grade around it a bit and dig the trench for power.

Was able to get my Avant up in the air to fix an exhaust leak.

Then I was able to fix the starter on my GMC.

I did it with an extension cord, but it's nice to not crawl around on the ground.

Glad to see you back here again. I had to go back and reacquaint myself with this thread. It looks like its been an interesting trip. I hope the knees and shoulders are holding up. And how's the daughter?

It's been interesting for sure, 3 surgeries in the last year and a half, both shoulders and knee. It's definitely slowed me down. I think it was slowing me down before too. But I'm finally trying to get this thing actually finished. The daughter wants to fix motorcycles with me too. So that's another motivator.

So there is power, epoxied floors, work can happen. I moved that wood stove from the downstairs of the house out to the barn. Got a plate in my neck. Built a loft. The lathe is out there. Got workbenches that need to be moved out there. A whole bunch more. lol

Bummer man.

U got a bunch of major violations on the electrical. U shouldve posted in the electrical section.

That wire u used for the branch feeder is NOT permitted to be used inside even in conduit. It is called URD....

And individual conductors like that should be in conduit...

What size is the wire?

Also the spool u posted a picture of is 4-wire but i only see 3-wires in the your disconnect can..Is the conduit metal or plastic? I see a bonding bushing so i assume metal...

I count 10 circuits in the panel unless 6 or less are in the panel, a main is required.

I guess I'll tell the electrician and the inspector. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear it.

It's funny that you think you can tell all of this **** wrong looking at a couple random pictures. They were taken sporadically. The new meter base only shows the wiring for the house at that point which is why I think you only see three wires. And yes the conduit for that is metal. The other wire ratings allow it to be run through the basement to the other end of the house (USE/XHHW?) according to the inspector. 4/0-4/0-4/0-2/0 is the gauge, just like the inspector asked for. And buried 24" just like the inspector asked for.

I count 10 circuits in the panel unless 6 or less are in the panel, a main is required.

The main at the meter base was sufficient to get me going. Though there is now one on the panel, it just hadn't come in yet.
