How are you getting rid of all the sawdust?
I know it piles up fast.

Mulch flower beds.It is starting to pile up.
I’d love to find a use for it, but seems unlikely.
I do have a number of farmers/ranchers in the area. Maybe they’ll have a use for it.
There was an off-grid couple on Whidbey and the guy used to come and take my sawdust and shavings pile for his composting toilet. It is starting to pile up.

In Florida it would be #LOGS.Going to see you advertising on the back page of the phone book and on billboards soon?
Riven and Hewn does sound like a Law Firm…
You’re going to need a catchy radio jingle…
“Is your beach a wreck?
With logs all strewn?
Need a check?
Call Riven and Hewn! “
1-800-GOT LOGS
Riven Do you have a moisture meter? I'd be interested in just hearing every now and then the moisture content on those logs you pull out.Small log, but I have high expectations.
It’s straight, good condition, fairly tight growth rings, and a relatively low moisture content.
I could move into bail bonds too!Going to see you advertising on the back page of the phone book and on billboards soon?

I shared with RivennHewn that our local large University has a portable sawmill used to mill salvaged campus trees. The program has multiple facets: repurpose downed trees, sustainability/recycling, etc.. The products produced are mostly over-priced and aimed at creating a "pet rock" type of marketing scheme. People pay more for something perceived as special. I.E., a table, pen, or college diploma framed in wood from a 120 year old campus tree. I suggested RivennHewn start his own "pet rock" phenomenon, LOL - historic salvaged river trees! A few pics and links: https://www.canr.msu.edu/for/programs/swri

I still need to talk to my neighbors. They have horses, goats, pigs, and chickens. Seems they could use some fresh bedding for some creatures. All joking aside, the sawdust market is really tight in my neighborhood. Poultry farmers will pay serious money for shavings if you could find a way to keep them dry in between pickups.
You’re not wrong!104%
It varies widely. All depends on how long they’ve been down, and how long they’ve been in the water.Riven Do you have a moisture meter? I'd be interested in just hearing every now and then the moisture content on those logs you pull out.
Free Firewood...I still have a truckload to go through.
There’ll be plenty of that.Free Firewood...
Once it gets bigger, I’ll pull the dump handle!Even after giving away the wood for the spoons, that is still a big forking pile to whittle down…

But, I’m Outta logs
Need to get this Evergreen ship moved off my ramp!
Yes, most of the logs wash up on the boat ramp and need to be cleared.Guess we have our own Suez Canal here... Paddled by your place a few years back, but managed to not get my kayak wedged in the channel.
Are you getting most of your logs from the water as driftwood?
It’s going to rain tonight.Great carving; the burkha was a nice touch.![]()
They definitely have a vibe going!
Nah,It's......interesting.
Have you named it yet?
