I agree with you on it being nice wood.Fun rolling a 2,000 lbs log up on the mill by myself.
I misjudged the length of the yellow strap, and the winch hook hit the spool before the log was completely up and secure. Luckily I was able to use the peavey to complete the loading.
Believe this is an Alder. Nice looking material no matter what it is.
Edit: now thinking it’s a Tulip Poplar.
