It's been this price for several months now, from Sears to Advance Auto Parts (depending on location), and a few eBay sellers as well. What's the reason behind this? These used to be Made in Taiwan, but the majority sold now are Made in China. Not sure if there is any correlation to be deciphered there. :confused:

Which one? The red handle ones? I have NOT seen this. There was a set sold ONLY at Kmart that was different and was made in Taiwan. The standard set at Sears has been USA MADE for as long as I can remember. Do you have a pic?

You're right Brownsfan. It's only sold at K-Mart. I keep thinking K-Mart and Sears are the same thing since they both fall under Sears Holding Corporation. Thanks for clarifying. :)

Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have desperately needed to expand my tool cart for many years. My financial situation has prevented me from doing so, but things have changed slightly as of now. I have a 26 inch Craftsman rolling cart that is 18 inches deep with 8 drawers. The drawers are 16" deep. I would like the following linked below. My cart is 18 years old and not in production anymore obviously. But I can grind off a bit of the front angle pieces which would allow the following chests to fit. It won't compromise structural integrity and the spot welds would not be touched.

Can anyone advise me as to when I could buy these items for the cheapest price possible??? I don't know when the best sales occur at Sears, or when the best coupons come out. Thank you for your time!!!

If your looking for good storage just get a 44" base from harbor freight. Best value for the money. Plus will be the same price as the Sears outfit.

They go on sale several times a year for half off the list price. You just have to keep searching and find out when. I prefer the edge line to the standard premium heavy duty as the top/middle shelves are full depth, and you get more drawers

My base may be almost 2 decades old, but it's in great shape. I cannot justify buying a new base, and I don't want two bases now. In the future, maybe. But for now, I am looking for an intermediate chest and top chest (18" deep drawers). Just want to know when the best deals come around!!!

I'm starting to grab up these Made in the USA Craftsman Adjustable Wrenches now. Because in the last few weeks they have been putting these and the 6/8/10 three piece set on sale for half price or less than half price. Many times this is an indication that Sears is going to send the product line overseas to China. Let's face it, it would be easy for Sears to get a Chinese company to make adjustable wrenches.

So I figure now is the time to round off my USA adjustable wrenches, before the ship sails to China. I'm buying up all the various sizes as they go half price, that along with points and I am building the full set for next to nothing.

Probably the best price point for this set yet. I do hope Craftsman is not planning to relocate production of these pry bars overseas. They "might" be clearing out inventory of the Made in USA bars. Wilde would be at a loss as a result and that would not look good on the record.

I usually like to use a tool for that particular purpose (such as a rear impact end, Mayhew's Dominator series), but I've read these Craftsman Pry Bars do take a lot of beating, and the handles never seem to break. Buy them while you can!
