Best price I saw on Amazon for the 71 01 200 SBA bolt cutters was $38.95, Sears order was $25.34 delivered to our local Sears store, + $5.00 back in points.

At that price, an OK deal. I wouldn't call them bolt cutters though. Takes a lot of hand pressure to cut a 16 penny nail. Wife had a wire garden trestle that one of her large plants grew through over the years (trumpet vine), and wanted it cut out. Wire was quite heavy at about .170", and it was all the cutters could manage with a heavy two handed squeeze. Fence wire @.126" was doable with one hand, but took a really firm grip.

The black (oxide?) finish on the jaws disappeared with a couple cuts, but the jaws appeared to suffer no damage. Bottom line, fine for 1/8" or less diameter cutting, and does appear handy for close quarters cutting, but if you don't possess a real firm grip, you might need something with a little more leverage. Had the handles been a mite longer would have helped, but perhaps that's the manufacturer's way of limiting damage to the jaws?

Overall, put them in the pliers drawer, handy for small stuff.

So the 30" by 30" cabinet is $179.99, $193.49 after 7.5% sales tax (which would earn $100 in points). I've got $33.79 to redeem in points, which would bring it down to a total of $157.17 earning $83.10 in points.

So, to buy two of them would be

Using no existing points and only what's redeemed
$193.49 (initial one)
$85.99 ($100 redeemed)
Total: $279.48

Redeeming existing points
$157.17 (first one)
$104.16 ($83.10 redeemed)
Total: $261.33

I'd rather just wait for them to go on sale again, picked up two on father's day weekend for a total of $188.90 using some SYWR points.

One question about sears.con, I can't find the Craftsman bench sanders online, but can see other brands, in store the have the Craftsman ones, does that means they will clearance soon?

Had some points and some bonus points expiring.Ordered a blower to be shipped and some car care products to be picked up. Total was around $77 when I needed at least $75 to use the Surprise Points.

Just got an email that the car care products were all out of stock. Since the total is now below $75, are they going to take the Surprise points out of my refund?

If you mean belt sanders:

If belt/disk sanders, looks like only one Craftsman:

Seems like their coupons have disappeared for the time being. Mostly points after purchase. There was a flurry of activity earlier. Maybe they're waiting for a sale.

I mean this type RIKON Power Tools 4" X 36" BELT 6 " DISC SANDER

Likely you can't see the Craftsman one online because of some error. It's possible that they'll clearance them out (to likely replace with a newer Craftsman model), but I think it's more likely an error on the website.

The 3 pc Professional Pry Bar set is currently down to $34.99. I don't think this goes on sale often.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-prof...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=9&blockNo=9&blockType=G9

I'd wager that they'll be getting rid of this set since the new pry bars are out which offer striking caps.

I really hope they send me $10 in surprise points this week. I'd really like to pick up this set even though I still haven't opened my $13 set of regular pry bars I bought a while back. I've still been using my cheap Advance Auto set.

That's what they've always done for me. So I just return the entire order then and re order with other stuff to get me above the dollar limit for the coupon/discount/surprise points.

Sears is giving $30 back in points with $50 or more in purchases.

Seems to only work for one order.

Well after the fiasco last week with the lock ring on these I was able to get HD to price match the sale price. She even gave me the extra 10% off. Ended up with the gearwrench husky version for 34ish bucks....

HD has a pretty good price match policy. Usually it's match a competitors sale price and 10% below regular price. Usually based on specification v actual model number. I asked the pro-desk cashier before I pulled it out, and then brought it over to her. She gave me a few questions when she realized it was so cheap, but in the end gave it to me. Best I can say is be polite you are looking for their good graces.

As a side note, they still had a made in USA 3/8 torque wrench, but it looked like it was run over by a fork truck.so I grabbed the best looking China one i could. Fingers crossed.

Thanks CardFan and tldavis I had the 36x72 white cabinet on order and it hadn't arrived, cancelled, reordered it and got 154$ in points and ordered two of the 30x30 cabinets for 172$

Sign in to your account and add something that is $50 or more to your cart. Go to your cart and at the bottom it should show the points you should earn.

Thanks - works for full-priced items that I add to my cart. For already discounted items, I still see $20 back in points. Also allows me to still add SYW coupons to stack with the $20 or $30 back in points.

Just played around with the $30 back in points on $50 deal. It's only good for 1 per member, but I have a couple of accounts and some coupons and surprise points stack. Ended up buying 2 each of the Craftsman bar clamps shipped to my door. Figure I paid about 34% of retail once I get the points back. I'll have to find something to spend them on, but that's not too difficult.

Note that $10 of the points expire in 7 days. The rest look like they are good for 90 days.

I'm buying the same Craftsman bar clamps. I've read that the OEM is Wolfcraft, and that they are made in Slovakia.

It looks like after applying SYW coupons and surprise points (both of which should be on most accounts), the clamps will be about 50% off, which is approximately the same price available during past sales. However, with the $30 back in points deal, this may be one of the best times ever (?) to buy these clamps.

Also, it looks like the clamps with the 2.5" throat (but not the 3.5" throat) offer an additional $2.50 - $3.00 back in points each.

Any thoughts on throat depth? I can understand why the extra inch of throat depth would help with stability for long clamps, but what situations would a 3.5" rather than 2.5" throat depth be beneficial for when using shorter clamps, like 6" - 12"?

Thanks for the tip on the clamps. I have used both throat depths. I try to only buy the bigger size. The small ones are fine, but the bigger ones always seem to come in handy. That being said, I sometimes mess up and buy the wrong ones.

Having them shipped is fun. The packaging is always creative. The last couple they just sandwiched inside a flattened box with a couple of pieces of tape.

$150 in points on a set of Die Hard...... tires? Is it weird that I can sort of see myself buying these?

http://www.searsauto.com/tires/dieh...MCFTx01728508x2012431xCCDIEHRDYA&eml=80988852

Anyone know anything about them?

http://www.wsj.com/articles/sears-to-sell-diehard-branded-tires-1465910388

"The Hoffman Estates, Ill., company declined to identify which tire maker will produce the product, saying it intends to partner with different manufacturers as it expands to include tires for pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles."

"The DieHard tire brand will be positioned between Sears’s lower-end Guardsman and higher-end RoadHandler tires."

It's a recent development. Sears is reinstating the DieHard brand of passenger tires after a decade as their 'better' option between Guardsman and RoadHandler (conversely reinstated in 2012). DieHard Silver Touring A/S are manufactured by Kumho in South Korea. RoadHandler tires were on contract by Hankook, also in South Korea. I don't think the current RoadHandler offerings are even in the same tier as Michelin or Goodyear.

The Silver Touring A/S — produced by Kumho Tire Co. Inc. in South Korea — features an “advanced carbon” tread compound for enhanced wet and dry grip; nylon belt-edge layers for durability and stability; and a symmetric tread pattern for all-weather performance.

Thanks for the info. If I order for store pickup - and they need to ship to the store for me - do you think I will experience the same shipping problems?

BTW, here is a link to the clamps made by Wolfcraft:

http://www.wolfcraft.com/en/products/p/one_hand_clamps//s/c/index.html

Of note is that Wolfcraft makes 3 levels of quality in this style of clamp and offer a 10-year warranty on all. I wonder where the Craftsmans fall in that lineup with their 1-year warranty. The "pro" series offer 120KG (~265 lb) clamping capacity whereas the 2 lower series offer 90KG (~200 lb). I've read that softwoods require 100-150 PSI and hardwoods require 175 - 250 PSI, and that pressure in excess of 250 PSI will actually make the joint weaker by squeezing out too much glue. So assuming that the Craftsmans are built at least as well as the economy series by Wolfcraft, sufficient clamping pressure should be provided for nearly all woodworking projects.

Sears is Clearancing out all the Reese brand towing accessories, balls, mounts, receivers, and such. Really cheap. The only negative is that you have to pick them up at the Sears Auto Center, which might be a deal killer depending how bad the wait and hassle is at your Sears Auto Center.

Here's a link to the stuff being clearanced out.

Did anyone else order any of the Reese stuff? I ordered yesterday and everything shipping to store was cancelled according to the email I got.
However if I look at my order it still says processing.:dunno:

It'll probably still say processing next month, even though it's long been canceled. Just one of the joys of Sears.

^ ^ ^ ^ Make screen shots of those On-Line prices and go into store in person.

Last night the sales person at Sears said they were paid on commission and he'd match ANY price that Sears has done on-line !! Think he's "hungry" for some pay before Sears goes bust !! :D

I got my drop mount and ball but I picked up at the store, where I had to pick the stuff off the floor.

Same thing happened to my gladiator cabinets. Got an email saying my order was cancelled with no sort of explanation.
