Ok guys, my birthday is later this week and last week I received an email from Craftsman giving me 10 dollars to spend. I have had no luck getting it to apply on anything. Anyone else ever get this and successfully use it?

I've had this problem in the past. What I found was that the birthday points only showed up at the very final order step: Review Order.

Try putting a high-priced item (say $100) in your cart, make sure it's not a Hot Buy. Then go all the way to the final Review Order step in your cart (with no other coupons to interfere) and see if the $10 comes off. If it does, then you can work on finding stuff you actually want that works with your coupons. Welcome to Sears Cart Hell :)

Wasn't going to, but ended up ordering the 7pc Gearwrench Flex wrench sets. After discounts and points both sets ended up under $50 ($23.**/ea plus tax). I had handled them at the store and felt like they were lower quality, but for such a good price I'll give them a chance. Maybe I'll be surprised and they will be better made than I thought initially. If not, the price doesn't hurt too bad and I can toss the useful sizes in a vehicle bag.

Milwaukee 800lb Convertible Hand Truck - $49.99 w/$31 back in points
http://www.sears.com/milwaukee-hand...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

Add a filler to get over $50, get another $10 back in points. Note, points appear in 24 hours and expire in 14 days.

Not listed as a hot buy, so you might be able to get other coupons to work as well.

Shows as available from Sears (as well as in-store) when I search for the item, but when I click on it, only from a third-party seller for $164.

Item looks virtually identical to one from HF:

Sadly, made/assembled in the USA doesn't mean what it used to and many manufacturers proudly use that tag to pimp inferior quality.

I considered this hand truck but I'd rather have solid wheels and some on SD said, to summarize, that it's pretty crappy. I'm about to go pick up a vintage USA made, lightly used one I found on CL.

The aluminium ones with the solid tires that you see on U-Haul trucks are the way to go. They are usually very solid and you don't have to worry about flat tires or rusting.

Agree. Costco has one for $70-80 but that's more than I want to spend on something I rarely use. I'll take the vintage USA steel one with solid wheels for $10... if the seller ever replies. :-(

FYI: The codes that begin with 98 often remain valid long past the expiration date.

The codes that begin with 97 are much more strict with the expiration dates.

Did anyone order $50 worth of 100% points back last night? Was going to but got home too late.

Good to know Doohickey.
I passed on 100% back on $50 because the points were only valid for a week. Nov 30th- Dec 6th I believe.

Couldn't stack 10 off 50 with surprise points and it didn't work on most sale items.

15 back 50 is only for items sold by kmart.

Thanks for posting, just didn't work for me.

Anyone have some tips for searching discounted tools on the site? I can't stand theri site, let alone the mobile version. I can only filter discounted items once I narrow down to a specific tool category, which in that given section, will be one or two tools.

Just have some points expiring today, would rather buy a stocking stuffer rather than let them go.

From the home page, type a brand name in the search bar. On the results page, change to Sears only. On the left bar, find X% off under Discount. I usually go with 30% off, but you could go with more or less.

If you do this with Craftsman, you will get a screen with suggested categories. Below the individual items listed, there will be a gray bar with "discover more in this category". Clicking this will get you all Craftsman results in tools, lawn & garden, or whatever category you're interested in. You can then change to Sears only and filter by % off. I also usually organize the results by price, low to high.

This is why we need a thanks button!

No problem! I do this almost daily with Craftsman, and usually find deals before they get shared here or on SD. It gets more tedious to filter by more brands or categories, but I do that if I have points expiring or surprise points to use.

This might be good add-on if you're already invested in the top and bottom pieces.

Craftsman 26 in. 3-Drawer Heavy-Duty Ball Bearing Middle Chest $59.99

RED
BLACK

Not as quite a steep discount for the bottom cabinets at $149.99:

FYI, there is a $10 rebate on kenmore small kitchen appliances. Cheap gift for someone and a way to turn some points into cash. Limit one per address though.

Darn IT
and I don't have any money.
refuse to put it on plastic.
That would probably fit the Waterloo set-ups we got from lowes.
Damn Sam, they hold 75 Lbs. per Drawer.
Wish I could find a nice Middle full 18" deep reasonable.
I lost one, in nice shape too, on CL cause I was broke,
MAC, 18" deep, for $100.00

bubinga, I took measurements of the Waterloo top and bottom chests, and this middle chest is a PERFECT fit. Just gotta remove the Craftsman logo to make it blend in nicely. Get the 2-Drawer one for $15 less. Comes out to $35 after points (ironically) for the middle chest--however, is a standard duty, not heavy duty.

What makes this better than the Husky set? I am looking for something to replace my current setup and two of these would fit the bill perhaps.

I personally can't answer that but. Bang for buck it can't be beat not even Harbor Freight ...

The bottom is not a bad deal with 50 back in points but I don't particularly care for the drawer layout. While I haven't seen the set up in person I doubt it's comparable to the harbor freight 44. just the bottom 44 from HF weighs 5 pounds less than the top and bottom from craftsman.

When I went to see the Husky in person, some corner spots were void of support, make it more vulnerable to being crushed. The drawers are okay (slightly flimsy--better in terms of heftiness than the recent Waterloo deal), but still not all that great from a satisfying standpoint. It is using a decent gauge of metal in thickness though.

41in Heavy Duty Chest and Cabinet Combo - Black Friday special $349.98

That is a pretty good deal on the 41" combo and those full length drawers are interesting, The 7 drawer top chest will run $50 more @$199

I have an 8 drawer top I like it a lot and sits over a 15 drawer lower. If I'm remembering right it was probably close to double that price when bought it all way back when :D

I just went back to those links for the 4 drawer lowers. I had looked at them late last night and they both were listed for $149 but now the price on red box is at $153.99 for me! WTF gives Sears :dunno: The black is still at $149

I recently took a look at those "medium duty" units with the 30lb rated drawer capacity when I bought my 26" 75lb "heavy duty" 5 drawer lower last month. They sure seem pretty weak with not much strength to them. Wasn't impressed.

I've actually got the Milwaukee 46" combo and I'm still in my return period. I need something a little larger and I can't stand the drawer with the lid on that acts as a laptop tray. I've had the lid slam down on my hands twice now and it wasn't fun...

I was seriously looking at picking up 3 of the $199 husky tool benches that are in the home depot black Friday ad and then putting a single top across all 3. Two of these Craftsman units might work though, I'll have to check them out in store tomorrow.

DFB, are you suggesting I should check out the 3-Drawer Option which is currently $59.99 before points? Thanks
