Hey guys, I've gotten a couple of complaints about this thead... folks are using it for general discussion rather than posting deals. Please follow our rules and don't post unless you have a deal to post. Failing to do so could end in your account losing privilidges to use the hot deals forum.

Thanks,

Ryan

Went to a failing Sears today. Nothing worthwhile was on sale or clearance. Found a lot of items with yellow stickers that barely saved anything. Is there a specific area to look at or is it just intermixed?

My store has them and I purchased them a while back for my Knipex (Craftsman) Cobras. Actually not useful for me though because I have the Knipex pliers wrenches.

I wonder if Sears is clearancing the WF adjustable wrenches as well as the pliers? I ordered 2 sets of the adjustable wrenches and got back $17.25 in points.

I got an email the other day, they are doing 50% back in points on tools right now, I guess for the 4th?

It always cracks me up when you see a craftsman product with a sale tag on the page that says "Beats Amazon Price"... Well, it's your own product line, I would hope so...

So I know this is from awhile back, but for those that missed out on the 8 inch drill press deal ($24.98), this might be useful:

All the Sears by me (SoCal) didn't have it in stock. I was up in the LA area visiting family and stopped in a "Sears Grand." Terrible mess of a store, but low and behold they had a single 8" press left!! (Online said they didn't) Go to purchase it, it rings up full price, $99.99 because Sears Grand uses a different pricing structure.

What to do?!

Bought it at the full $99.99+tax ($107.74)

Carted the unopened press to my local Sears in the good part of town, receipt in hand and asked politely for a "price adjustment"

Clerk scans it in, and promptly issues me $75.02+$5.81 ($80.22) back to my Visa

So I got the thing for $27.52

But wait, it gets better.

Because I paid full price, and bought it on father's day, I got the $5 gift card. I also got $15 in bonus points for spending over $75. I also got $5 in bonus points on that specific item.

Since I waited a few days and did a "price adjustment" rather than a straight up return, no points were deducted from my account and the gift card remained active.

So $25 store credit on the press that ran me $27.52 with tax= $2.25 press!

Anyhow, if you have a Sears Grand nearby, CHECK IT OUT! You can price match anything they sell with normal Sears, and on hidden clearance items can really score.

I know, I know. People like me are the reason Sears is going under. I do try to buy lots of other odds and ends there whenever they issue me surprise points, spending a good amount per month outside the tool department for the family since their prices can't be beat. This was not done with any malicious intent, rather lucked into the points/card and feel that Sears should honor their clearance prices across their stores.

Sears is just so bad at their pricing system, and you just happen to be at the right place and time to find the deal. So congrats

I am amazed you got Sears to price match another Sears. It has always been return and rebuy around here. They act like price match isn't even an option.

Right now Sears is giving 6% back via Ebates

Thanks! Perfect timing, bought something this morning to take advantage of this.

Wild Wins Wednesday is on now - I think this one is all day, does not say it only 1 or 2 hr.

Yeah depends on a billion factors as with every Sears purchase. Sears seems they either do something without a fuss, or they are 1000% unwilling to do it no matter how much evidence is presented.

Anyhow, *Update* found another drill press today, again at a store that online claimed none in stock. Box looked like it had been through the war. This was a regular Sears but it still rang up $99.99!! WTH! So I guess not just Sears Grand, any store can be full price! Had the guy call the Sears I did the price match at, and 3 other Sears. They all confirmed $25, still he wouldn't budge.

Keep in mind, store with the easy price match was in good neighborhood, this store was in the Ghetto=full price no match. Sears Grand-also Ghetto, same thing no price match full price. I'm starting to see a correlation here.

So bought it and plan on taking to the same exact place I got the price match on the last one, at least this time I will give them money for the dang thing so I don't feel so bad.

Anyone interested in seeing all sale items in a specific category? For example all tools on sale, without having to select one or two sub categories on the sears website? I know I was especially after narrowing by store.

This has probably been posted before but here goes.

Enter this text in the URL bar after the number code corresponding to the category:

?offer=All Items On Sale&filterList=offer&subCatView=true

For example the code for tools is:
www.sears.com/tools/b-1020000?offer=All Items On Sale&filterList=offer&subCatView=true

Works on the Kmart site too, and in any sub category on either site.

Craftsman Snap Ring Pliers $19.99 marked from $24.99 in store.

This is the tool even though it's not coming up as on sale.

These are good ones, too. They are made by Wilde, who makes the exact thing marked "Channellock". The only difference between the three is color on the Wilde/Channellock labeled and the Craftsman has an extra cover over the handles.

I bought the Channellocks, because they were the cheapest, the day I needed them.

Actually made by Lang/Kastar for Wilde, Channelock, Craftsman, Snap On, SK, and a few other brands. But yeah, they're good snap ring pliers.

Is the 3 piece set of snap-ring pliers like that one no longer available? I can't find it on the website. I think I bought my set for around $60 a couple years ago.

Extra 10% off the average sale price of $19.99 for this USA set:

Craftsman 3 PC. PRY BAR SET WITH STRIKE CAP $17.99

prod_2264805312

Thanks for the heads up on this! I stopped by Sears and picked one up over lunch. They are bigger than I expected. That's a good thing. It was touch and go getting them to match their online price, until I told them I would just buy it online for store pickup if they were going to make an issue of it. The manager finally said he'd match the online price... All's well that ends well I guess...

Can you take a picture of your set? Do they have a Sears # on them?

I've never had an issue with my local Sears price matching their online site. I always bring a print-out of the page because they staple that to the receipt for their records (I guess as proof of why the price got adjusted).

Had a little over $12 in points so I bought the punch & chisel holder yesterday. Everything seemed to be on sale, dunno... Cost me .26 cents... lol. Just have to wait for it to be delivered to the store now.

SYW WTF?

I'm 0 for 36 in the last 24 hours. 0 points. WTF Sears?

https://www.shopyourway.com/mp/app/20750/l

I've had that happen to me a couple times in the past... I do ALL the instant win things... Featured, xtra, most prizes, and win it mobile... ZERO...

So now I play in small batches, especially if I'm not winning anything... Just play a few now and then when I'm taking a break... Seems to up my odds...

But yeah, overall they seem to be getting a lot more stingy... I'm usually only winning 50 or 100 points... Maybe on Wild Wins Wednesday I'll get 250... *rolleyes*

That is interesting observation. I may have to try to play in small batches and see how it goes. I usually just do all of them if I have time - usually on laptop while sitting in front of TV, and do this when ads are showing.

I do agree it seems to be getting more stingy, but hey free money is free money (or I should say free tools is free tools)

EDIT: Just bought this using points:

Really!
All you'd have to do in go over in the isle or your car, and buy it from there phone.
Guy at Advance does that for me sometimes. I tell him I have a -20% code,
And he just takes it off.

Ordered the 2 piece impact screwdriver set for $17.99. I went to customer pickup, they couldn't find them, so about 15 minutes later they bought down the 14 piece Craftsman Cushion grip set with my favorite rubber handles. I said thanks, threw those in my car, then went back in and found the impact set and bought those as well. Thank you Sears.
