Re: Pricing on rolling tool cabinet

Thinking about purchasing a five drawer rolling cabinet. On sale now at 239.99...

I have not been watching prices, so I don't know whether this is standard pricing or a good deal...

What's the likelihood that it will go for a deeper discount after the 25th?

http://www.sears.com/26-in-5-drawer-heavy-duty-ball-bearing/p-00937718000P

Thanks!
I believe it has been as low as $169.99 in the past.

That’s weird.... they only show available when you follow the link you posted. If you go to the sears parts direct clearance section they are gone still.

Apparently no one has noticed but these are back in stock. I ordered two more sets at 8am this morning and no cancellations yet...

https://www.searspartsdirect.com/pa...ource=trans&utm_medium=em&utm_campaign=pd-shc

I'd be curious to know how you found this link? As already stated, it is no longer listed with the other clearance wrench sets.

For myself, I'd be hesitant to order again for fear it's a glitch in Sears' site and having it turn into a big hassle getting my refund. But, if I'd missed this deal, maybe I'd take the risk! :dunno:

I'm not sure if there's any significant difference between how things are handled via Sears and SearsPartsDirect, but on two different occasions I was advised by a Sears team member I was chatting with online that my order was "stuck", and that they could replace the order for me. No further explanation other than they were "stuck" and when that happens it's best to cancel the order and replace it. Both times the order was replaced and properly fulfilled, albeit late.

It seems it would be a shame for an older order to go unfilled whereas new orders are filled, but you never know with Sears these days. I hope everybody's orders get shipped...these wrenches look really nice.

Really doubt the large wrenches will ship.
Hard to say. Sears is so big and miss managed there is probably tons of stuff like this in warehouses yet to be discovered. Got mine ordered so I'm trying to be optimistic.

Thanks...at that price, I'd buy the rolling cabinet and the accompanying five drawer tool chest as well. Right now the pair runs $399.

With that much tool storage, I won't ever need to buy another tool chest, right? :)

Does it make sense to wait for the post-Christmas or January sales, or take a flyer, buy one (or the pair) now, and ask for a price match if it drops within 30 days?

I just took a chance as well. Regretted skipping on them the first time around. After I ordered, I clicked a link to bring me back to the home page and it lsited my recently viewed items. The other was the 1/2" swivel impact sockets that are also not listed on the one page of available tools. Probably wont ship, but worth a shot

yes, that is what you tell any family members who ask . . . .

sears seems to be behaving erratically. i wonder if they are just trying to get through the christmas season and hoping for a sales miracle. regularly, it might be worth waiting, but at this point, i think it is a **** shoot. . . .

I resisted ordering a set with the first wave, I have half of the size in proto wrenches with a nice satin finish .. but after all of the pictures and posts about how good of a deal this is I broke down and ordered a set. Thanks for posting. Thanks GJ for pinching me of another $75. FYI - parts17 still works for 15% off.

To answer my own question on the large wrench set link, I just now discovered that the link comes up if I google the wrench set with part number. I'm not an expert on how the web works, but is it possible that this original page never erased from the history when it was updated to "sold out" status? This happened to me a few years ago with another much smaller company on an item that had been sold out for months. Instead of ordering online, I decided to phone in my order just to be sure it wasn't a mistake, only to be told "sorry sir, that item has been sold out for months!". I felt a little foolish, but thought it was worth a shot. Oh well!

BTW, anyone notice that all the other wrench sets, other than the 22 pc wrench set, have dropped in price already? The cross force wrenches are now down to $69.99 from $99.99 a day ago.

Ordered a set of the large wrenches and a set of the metric cross-force wrenches too, been waiting for them to go down in price. I guess it is now a waiting game to see if the are in stock or not.

I jumped on the large wrenches. Worth a try, you never know, maybe they found some more in the warehouse somewhere...

I chatted online:

Sears: Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct.
I will be your Parts Advisor, what parts may I order for you today?
Hello!

Me: Could you please tell me if part number 48989SP is in stock?

Sears: Sure!

Sears: I'll be glad to assist you.

Sears: I see on the website it is in stock.

Sears: To get proper information I will have to check on my system.

Sears: May I know your phone number which is listed with Sears please?

Me: XXXXXXXX

Sears: Thank you.

Sears: I see this part is in stock.

Me: Thanks.

Sears: Are you placing the order online?

Me: Yes.

Sears: Great!

Sears: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Me: No. Thank you very much.

I had a direct link to the wrenches saved on my desktop so that's how I got back to them after they disappeared.

I just got an email from Sears parts direct saying my order has shipped! We'll see if and what shows up...

After my Fluke meter debacle, I'll warn you all there's not much stock left for this.

Hard Leather Wave® Multi-Tool $44.92 (price in cart)

Free shipping on orders $25 or more. Earn $10 in points when paying $40 or more with something other than points.

I tried several zip codes around the nation, and the shipping option disappears for some states. Maybe it has something to do with knife laws.

Got mine last night. Nice upgrade over my wingman for darn near the same price. Thanks for posting this Doohickey.

Figuring I might get a rebate on this purchase at some point, I pulled the trigger on both the cabinet and upper chest. They're waiting for me at pickup. :)

Thanks for the coaching!

Customer service just told me my original order from last Tuesday is still on backorder and that they're mistakenly on their website. Best of luck.

I put in the quantity of 99 just to test if it would let me check out for the large wrenches and it did let me. So I doubt sears stock information is accurate if they even have any at all.

Hi guys! I haven't used my account here in forever (been trying to avoid temptation, lol), but I've been following the Sears/SYW threads avidly this year, since SYW started making it possible this year for me to accumulate more useful amounts of points before they expire (previous years I was left out of a lot of formerly-targeted 'doorbusters' and I got tired of spending so much time on the games when it wouldn't add up to enough to do much in 14 days). I've been able to afford to expand my tool collection quite a bit this year thanks to SYW.

I recently became aware of the existence of Craftsman Christmas ornaments. Turns out they've come out with 200+ different ones over 20+ years, and not a one of 'em ever appeared in my local stores! :willy_nil This year's ornaments are currently on buy-one-get-one-free AND 50% off online through tomorrow, Dec 16. Unfortunately, they stopped being available for shipping a couple days ago, before I could re-accumulate enough points to get them. :( So now I'm kicking myself that I didn't just order them sooner and pay out of pocket...

http://www.sears.com/seasonal-chris...nts&filterList=Brand|Style|Type&searsTab=true
Three of the designs are new for 2017 (hex nut snowflake, "90", and the toolbox), and the other three are repeats from previous years.

If any of you still have them available at your local store, you should be able to order all 6 online for in-store pickup for a total of $14.97 (plus tax, if not using points). If anyone who can find them would be willing to pick up a set for me, I'd reimburse your cost and shipping, via Paypal or whatever method you prefer.

[Update: I now have 5 out of 6 of them, just need the Hex Nut Snowflake.]

I got my large set last week and impressed with them. I "almost" ordered a 2nd set today but opt to order the metric cross force set instead.

Hopefully they have shipped soon.

The large wrench set and the socket set have both disappeared from the clearance page but if you go to sears parts and type in the model number and search item number(Not Model #). I know Sears messes up everything they try these days. They can both still be found that way. Who knows if the are still there by mistake or not

It does say case is included in the Specifications section. Don't know if it's leather or not.

This is a odd deal on a bandsaw so bear with me.

The sears BAS350 14" bandsaw on sale for 439.99. It needs the fence, $79.99. The mobility kit (wheels ) $82.99. Without tax or shipping, That is $602.97. Add 6% tax, and that would be $639.15. LINK: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-14-inch-band-saw/p-00932607000P?redirectType=SKIP_LEVEL

I bought the bandsaw and the fence. this put the price above $500, which then kicked off a automatic $70 in 'surprise points' off purchases over $500. I had to pick up the saw at the store as it was not available for shipping. The fence was shipped free.
Price: $476.91 including tax.

Now that sounds pretty good, right? But there is the wheel kit still to get.

I had earned enough Shop your way points to get the wheel kit for free on this purchase alone so I ordered it after I picked up the saw and the fence arrived. They post the Shop your Way points after the first order was picked up/delivered

Then, on top of it, Sears has a price guarantee. if an item goes on sale within thirty days, they refund the difference.

three days after I bought it and picked it up, the saw went on sale for 395.99. I filled out the claim form on line and they refunded $46.64 back to me within two days.

The final price for the saw, fence, and mobility kit was $430.67 including tax with no shipping fees.

Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

Congrats on the deal! :) Just FYI, Sears price protection seems to be highly YMMV.

I'd always not bothered trying it until recently, thinking that they wouldn't want to do anything on purchases that involved spending points even partially. But then a few days ago I saw someone elsewhere say they successfully received points refunded after filing a price protection form about a purchase that was paid for entirely with points. So I gave it a shot on the Lisle hood prop (which I had found out about thanks to this thread and ordered at $17 last week).

The first response I got was an email, clearly from someone overseas, claiming that they couldn't give me anything back because 'the item was on sale'. I replied back saying that makes no sense and quoting the Sears policy webpage saying that's exactly what it's intended for. :headscrat

Then I got another reply from what seemed to be someone else, saying they couldn't give my anything back because 'there was a cash back offer' (there was no such thing, but I'm guessing that was their marginally-literate, bizarrely not templated, way of trying to say that I used points to buy the item - the exact same situation that someone else was successful in). I gave up at that point.

I never have problems doing price match even when using points. Have done this probably more than 10x.

Fill out the forms, and usually within 24 hr, they email me saying that its done.

Now if the item is still not picked up, they email me and say something like please contact us once it is picked up. I usually just chat with them after I pick-up the item, and they refund the difference in points.

So this morning, I got an email from Sears Parts Direct that my order had shipped!

...but when I went to check the order status the other CM Industrial item I ordered shipped, but the large industrial wrench set now has a status of "Order sent to manufacturer for fulfillment". You fellers probably know better than me, but has Sears completely discontinued Craftsman Industrial? Well, I guess that would be has Stanley Black and Decker, if it wasn't already before? If so, it seems I should ask for a refund sooner than later...but for now I'm fine to wait if there's any chance.
