Loctite might be a good choice, so you can disassemble if ever needed.

Yeah, I too was thinking Superglue seemed like not the best choice for that. EdJack, if you were saying Superglue because you don't have Loctite threadlocker on hand, I'd suggest a drop of white PVA glue (like Elmer's) or fingernail polish as a closer substitute for non-permanent hold. :)
https://phantompilots.com/threads/be-careful-when-if-using-loctite.493/
(RC/drone pilots have to use substitutes like that because real Loctite eats away at their plastic screws)

It says the presidents day sale is live now. Unsure if the prices have changed much since the points promo, but today may be the day where you can get points back and get better deals on items.

Looks like the price went up on the deep evolv sockets.

The Slide Hammer is very nice, but hold out until it goes to $49.99. It goes down to half price a couple times per year. I think the Craftsman might be a rebranded OTC Silver ******* Slide Hammer. The Craftsman also comes in a metal storage box, even though it doesn't show it on the picture.

Be careful if paying with Paypal lately. I tried using it with some of those tools with far off ship to store dates, went to the store and found some on the shelf, but of course they couldn't set it up for pickup since I already ordered for online, and in store price was different.

I canceled the order and no refund through PayPal after quite awhile. So yeah i have a dispute but its going to take 3 weeks before that's settled. Buyer beware there. They probably have no money in their PayPal/empty it daily.

That said I still came out on top. Got them to give me the points I used back, plus surprise points I used converted to normal points. Then went to a different sears and they matched the online price with my coupon applied AND let me use my points.

Long story short got Pro Pry bars for $6.80

And nope I never did the spend $75 get $50 promo to get the points. Just pending my PayPal claim, and I know PayPal will get me my money back. If sears account is empty when my claim goes through I'll get my money as soon as someone makes a payment with them. But I wouldn't use them anymore for Sears.

I'm seeing the ship-to-store option become available on a lot of tools that my nearest Sears stores already got rid of.

Some have got arrival dates as far off as May, so maybe they're doing ship-store-to-store, to help stores that failed to get rid of these items.

still waiting on a ship to store order from black Friday that was do on 12/6.... tried to cancel it 4 times now, 2 times online, once in the store, once on the phone. They just keep saying ok then sending me an e-mail that they need up to 72 hours to review it and nothing happens lol. Looks like I need to file a charge back to get my money back.

Pretty sure they are on the death bed just trying to get as much cash as they can before filing. Most of their suppliers told them to pound sand. only orders I would place any more will be with points only.

got that for $35 on black Friday with some points. it was the other part of my order that didn't show up for the swivel impact set. Its a apex / gearwrench rebrand and the box is plastic.

It's not just PayPal... even with regular CC payments people have had issues...

Sears is quick to take your money but slow to give it back...

Yeah maybe. But I've had them cancel dozens of orders and I've done the same manually in the past. Money always came back. Not PayPal.

I would not contact Sears anymore. It is obvious they are incompetent or just enjoy jerking you around :lol_hitti

I would call your credit card company, and file a charge back. Tell them you want your money back because Sears do not have the items anymore. This is why you always pay with credit card. And yes, you can pay via Paypal using credit card too.

@kneeman - thanks for posting the deals. I think I am going to get the body clip removal set.

I had a similar experience through outlet but in store pickup at sears.
Took quite a few chats but finally got a check in the mail because they couldn't refund to paypal. I suppose I should cash that soon.

yes very slow but just got an e-mail from them for the refund, only reason I waited so long was because how cheap they where.... http://www.sears.com/craftsman-indu...clsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CNTj98GjotkCFc1ENwodCjENvw#

not going to find a usa made swivel impact set that cheap ever again lol $99 on black Friday and could stack points and offers, they have been out of stock since. They Even refunded the points.

a credit in the amount of $ 87.84 was issued to your account today. This credit was issued because the order has been cancelled.

Credit card - $ 71.27
SHYW - $ 16.57

I looked at the items I have saved and it looks like prices actually went UP on most of them... lol.. figures...

Looks like they dropped on many items Sunday morning, but then they started raising them on some tools.

Maybe you can find an older USA version collecting dust at a Hometown store, and then just place the order on Sears.com:

Craftsman 9" Magnetic Torpedo Level $5.99

I've held the 36" before and it is a beefy SOB... The next size down I held was noticeable smaller diameter, but I don't know if it was 31" or what, it has been a while.

I have a friend in Houston and many of those stores still seem to have decent stock of good things. I'm going to have him pick stuff up for me then when he comes to visit he can bring it all up... lol.

Anybody else notice that most legititmate cashback sites have dropped sears?

Sears has been coming and going from those programs for at least the past year. They seem to drop out for a few months to save up a budget to afford to get back on during key sales pushes, as they were back on during the holiday season late last year.

Like Hexen said, most of the time it's 0% or 1% but around Holidays / special events it can get bumped up...

A lot of the rebate sites rotate daily / weekly % amounts of the most popular sites. If I'm not needing something right away and the price shouldn't change I'll wait a week and see if the cashback amount changes. Every % counts...

TCB is currently 5%...

Sears....walk in store and the big new deal / current promo sign in front of tool section when you walk in is for 3.00 red craftsman 5 gallon buckets.

Look online and they are touting they have 13 month warranties when the competition has 12 months.

They'll be ok.

Dang that is good price. It would be free with points. I am actually looking for 5 gallon buckets, but no Sears close by :(

Hmmm, I bought a 6.5" C3 saw online a few days ago taking advantage to the $50 back in points when you spend $75 deal. It showed I was taking advantage of the offer during checkout, but none of the points showed up this week. Not even the 1% you get with normal purchases. I think I'm done with the whole SYWR thing at this point. Gonna have to return the saw now. Good thing I didn't open it.

First, try contacting the chat support reps on sears.com. They have reportedly been pretty good with fixing people's points problems lately.

Yep, I would chat or call (if you want to wait a few min on hold)... I've done both and even though they are Indian (accents wern't too noticeable, they do still talk fast though) they have been extremely helpful in resolving my issues, no hassles at all.

did you use a sears credit card?

This happened to me and i suspect its because the 5% i get on all purchases overrides the original deal. When checking out it showed id get the 50 dollars and some extra back but once i selected my Sears card and submitted the order it went down to a few bucks.

i just cancelled that order and redid the whole thing on another card and it worked just fine.

The 10in Craftsman pipe wrench is down to $16. Not quite as good as the $14.50 in early January, but close.

Also, the Lisle mechanic's stethoscope is on sale for $7.92, about 50% off the regular price of $16. And it's not marked as an online-only price or a Hot Buy. I think I'm going to go get that at my local store today, using the $5 surprise points from a current SYW game and the $2.88 of regular points I have that expire today - it was meant to be. :)

$5.69 back in points on those now.

Yeah, that's from the current 30% back offer which I think is on all tools. Just remember that you only get 30% of what you pay out of pocket, not the amounts covered by any points/offers you already had. :)

I went into my local store today and it was sad. Not only did they have a lot of bare shelves, most of what they did have was priced as msrp. I would think they should be doing whatever it takes to generate enough revenue to stay afloat and get products back on the shelves.

FWIW, an increasing amount of stores will be failing to keep up with putting out their sale-pricing tags due to cutbacks on staffing. So if there's something in particular you're interested in in-store, it's best to take it to a price scanner to find out its current in-store price.

I went to my Hometown store today, even though they have the president's sale going on right now it seems to really be just appliances on sale I think...

Didn't really notice anything different / new in the tool section. Looks like they stocked him back up with some more C3 stuff and the usual stationary power tools (sander, drill press, saws, etc..) Also lots of Lawn & Garden stuff but I really didn't look at any of that.

Funny thing I was on the Sears website and I guess it had a glitch because when I was filtering by local store it somehow chose the big Sears @ the mall that closed last month.. lol.. Still had inventory of some items... haha!

^^^ This is very true. My hometown store (and when I lived in Houston the Sears Hardware store) never really updated price tags because Sears was CONSTANTLY changing prices. Just easiest to take to a scanner if they have one or ask person @ desk to scan it.

Also worth cross-checking website to see if Sears / SearsHomeTown is cheaper.
