As I've posted about a couple times before, you definitely can't use coupons on an F&F day, the F&F 10% off gets applied to your transaction as an automatic coupon that can't be combined with other coupons. An employee who didn't realize that's how it worked had told me the day before an F&F sale a few months ago to come back on Sunday, and assured me that the other coupon I wanted to use would work with it. When it did not work, he manually adjusted the item's price down by 10% and removed the F&F coupon so that I could use my other coupon, but only because he had promised me personally to make it work that one time.

It seems like, longer ago, they used to actually have the prices on F&F day 10% lower in the system like other sales, so you could use coupons with it. But not with the way it works now.

When you say coupons, does that also apply to surprise points (AKA Freecash)? Most surprise points say they can't combine with coupons, so if the F&F 10% is a coupon, that could prevent surprise points from applying.

Yes, 'fraid so. That's why I used my $5 off $5 surprise points freecash offer thingy today instead of waiting till tomorrow. I tested in the cart whether that offer would combine with the coupon code I have from last week, and it did not. If you have one of the rare offers that doesn't exclude coupons, it is possible.

Edit: Although, online might be handled differently than in-store! I think they still lower the actual prices online for F&F day (unlike in-store where the F&F discount functions as a coupon), so give it a try (combining a coupon or other offer with F&F) online.

These [cap wrench bottle openers] were down to like $4.50 the other week... But if you are picky (like me) I would check in store as most now are Chinese but there might be some USA stock still around if you can look through them.
...

No US-made ones remaining at my local store, checked today. I may end up getting one eventually anyway, meh.

Is today the last day for the $20 / $20 deal?

So far, looks like it. They haven't extended the date in the details yet.

But who knows... could be they're just planning to skip Sunday to focus on F&F instead, and bring this deal back on Monday.

For people who haven't used the current online $20back$20/$50back$100 offer:

Knipex 16" Pliers Wrench XL $118.85

That is already the lowest current price I see online. If you have a $15 on $100 or less surprise points (pretty common) then You can buy it for $103.85 and get more than $50 back, for a net of about $50. Amazon lowest ever is $96.26.

If you don't have the surprise points you should be able to use a coupon, like $10 off $100 storewide or tools, also pretty common.

Picked up the 16"ers and a knipex 10" hose clamp pliers for $134:thumbup:

Family & Friends event...

Not sure what that means?

Yeah, I haven't seen an offer like that before either. Interesting.

Tried to order through Sears this morning, but they couldn't process it.

LOL. Big sale day off to a great start. ;) Someone on SD reported the same problem.

I haven't attempted to put together test orders myself at this point, but I did notice that the online prices appear to still get actually reduced by 10% for F&F, instead of requiring a virtual coupon to deduct the 10% at checkout like how it currently works in-store. So it might actually still be possible to combine F&F with other coupons/offers when buying online, just not when buying in-store. If anyone can get the site to cooperate to try it, let us know.

Sears website is letting me combine a $-off coupon or freecash with the F&F sale prices. :D

Don't know if it will be the same in-store, but prices are usually better online anyway.

I’m trying to place an order and it says it can’t process.

I’m trying to use $17 in freecash but it also automatically put 10%off in coupons. Is that why the order won’t go through? The 10% is only $2 so I’d rather use the free cash if it’s one or the other

Some people are having glitches placing orders this morning even without trying to use any additional discounts. Doohickey apparently was able to place an order with combining additional discounts. And now you say the 10% off online was showing up as an automatic coupon that invalidates other coupons/offers same as in store. Soooo :dunno: I can't figure out what the heck Sears is doing.

I highly recommend you check your order before leaving.

I tried this feature a few years ago, because I had three orders to pick up and was in a rush. I let them put everything in the trunk and regretted it. There are many ways they can screw up your order: missing items, wrong item, incorrect quantity, leaving a security tag attached, used/returned merchandise, etc.

Yes, always check everything before you leave, whether in-vehicle or regular pickup. Also remember that you can use the Sears app to do an "in-vehicle" pickup without actually waiting in your vehicle, which some people have been doing to make the employees not be able to cheat on the 5-minute thing (they have to scan a barcode on your phone app to stop their timer).

Reminder that today, Tue 3/20, is the last day for the online version of the Friends & Family 10% discount, and also for the $10 back when you spend $10+ OOP on an in-vehicle pickup order.

Should the $10 back for in-vehicle pick up show in your cart? It’s not appearing in mine.

I haven't tried it myself, but I wouldn't expect to see it show up until the order review page after you select the option to use in-vehicle pickup on this order.

It didn't show for me through the entire process. I'm assuming it'll show up after I actually do in car pick up, since it seems like you could still just walk into the store to get it when you arrive. I think they want to make sure you use the mobile app to do the pickup.

It didn’t show for me through the final review. Are you planning on picking up today Mrspeed? I was going to order today but probably can’t pick up for a week or two.

Yeah, I'm going to pick up within the next hour. I'll let you know, but sometimes it takes a day for points to show up, so I may or may not have anything to report.

I tried to get in on this deal but couldn't get the points to show up anywhere in the buying process, so I just didn't bother. Let us know if you can get it to work!

It's looking like this deal will be completely invisible until you successfully complete the pickup. At least it's a low OOP amount to risk compared to some of the other deals, but still more than I usually go OOP myself, so I don't plan to try it personally.

Nobody on SD has yet reported a successful completion of the in-vehicle pickup cashback either. Apparently the rules of the offer require picking up within 7 days, and you receive the points 48 hours after pickup; it may really allow longer on the pickup window and/or take less time after pickup for the points to be issued, but I wouldn't count on it.

Someone there had a fun suggestion for if any of you feel like you're running out of things to do with your points, BTW: buy more Craftsman zippered toolbags...

"I actually used a bunch of those bags to "wrap" gifts this Christmas. Easiest gift wrapping ever. I just put the gift inside and zipped up the bag. Everyone loved them. It was like receiving 2 gifts in 1."

Wow, that explains a lot! I paid $10 out of pocket for a tool to get this (first time in a long time I gave sears that much actual cash). If it doesn't pan out that tool is so going back!

Please keep us posted if *anyone* has any success with it. Maybe they are just waiting until the online 10% off ends to issue points?

Has the order status switched to "Picked Up"?
Has it been at least 48 hrs since you picked up the item?

Also, did they scan a barcode in the app?
