Craftsman Extreme Grip 14 pc. Screwdriver Set $40.

Price tracker shows the cheapest price is $35, so this is not at the lowest point but I may get one anyway. Kinda afraid this ship may sink sooner than later lol I actually only need to long handle version but they are $30 for 4.

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-ext...=3&blockType=G3&storeId=10153&catalogId=12605

It is $65 now :wtf:

I was waiting to see if I can get some points from my weekly sweeps emails before buying. Definitely not buying this one now :lol_hitti

I had to fix something today, and needed a regular screwdriver. Currently, I just carry the Sears impact screw drivers, just in case something needs a little love tap. It was actually my first time using them, and what a nice feeling screwdeiver. Obviously heftier due to the striking shank, but just felt perfect in the hand. If you don't have them yet I'd put. Those on your list. Currently $24, down from $30. $20 is the lowest I've seen & when I got mine. Made in Japan

One door closed, another one open. This one is now at $20, and if you are lucky and get $8 from your weekly sweeps, that makes it $12. Thank you @2manytools!

Also if you bought it at $24, time for price protection chat

Have a great Sunday folks!

I was a bit bummed when I clicked the link as well. I have a some from single purchases, usually from the sweeps offer or with a $5 over 5min pickup coupon. I do see there are a couple sizes unavailable to me other than this or the 16-pack. Figured thse would be the ones I borrow out, and keep my Wera's nicely displayed

So I decided to get a pair of the 6" knipex plier wrench, and match to Home Depot last night (thanks Hexen for the good match price). The chat rep has it all set to go, then says their is an error and can't select Sears as the seller, and defaults to 3rd party. After a few minutes, they go "how about I just put what the difference is in your account, and you buy it?" Uhh, sure. Rep then added $22 and was gone. I'm debating on those, or a similarly priced knipex pair that doesn't drop in price. This is not the first time I've had a rep not be able to order a Knipex tool for me, but was the fastest solution I've ever had.

I was hoping Sears had three 7-1/4" non-comfort pair, as that was a better price match (larger tool for same price). Then I would have tried getting through 5" at some time to go with the 7, and the 10" I already have. Only really desired plier now, and definitely don't need, is the Knipex Raptor plier.

Made in USA.

As for manufacturing in USA meaning better quality...well, make sure to look over the torx tips. Some of the torx screwdrivers at the local store seem more rounded than others.

Craftsman 10 pc. Screwdriver Set $16.99 (log in for member price)

Store pickup, ship-to-store, or free S&H for $35+ orders.

The 16 piece screwdriver is still $49.

Never mind, no shipping and not available here.

Found some holiday tool displays stuffed into a corner of a Sears store. Unfortunately, most of it looked like the same old tools they usually carry. The Craftsman 20V drill and impact driver set I mentioned last month was really the only thing that could be called a "new" item.

Is there a way just to search for the Craftsman Club member prices items without searching every tool offered?

I’m a member of the Craftsman Club and I can’t find any kind of link.

Thanks

The Craftsman Saver Days email comes with a link, or you can just narrow down the Deals section of the Sears site to "Saver Days".

https://www.sears.com/deals/center/hot-deals.html/dealGrid?event=Saver Days&soldBy=sears&sort=asc

The Sears version of Craftsman Club is pretty much dead, so Saver Days is a bit different now. Instead of just Craftsman, other brands are included among the sale items. Plus, your SYW membership is enough to qualify for the member pricing, so no need to actually sign up for Craftsman Club.

Yeah, the 6" Knipex Pliers Wrench gave my chat rep some trouble too (not in quite the same way, though) when I ordered it a couple weeks ago, but eventually she figured it out. The points you receive from a chat rep should be good for about a year (don't wait that long though :p ) so you don't have to do anything with them for a while if you're not sure yet.

I wish Sears would bring back sold-by-Sears on the 7.25" (and 10") non-comfort too, but I will probably eventually go with the comfort version if the points work out. Most reviews say the comfort grip is worth having on the larger sizes, so the only reason not to get it would be wanting a matched set (which I would like).

Edit: LOL, I hadn't taken my 6" one out of the box till now, and it turns out Knipex sent me a comfort grip 6" instead of the basic grip one I'd ordered! So now my 5" (which they don't make a comfort grip version of) will have to be the odd man out, so I might as well get more comfort grip sizes when I can. :)

And BTW, it's worth eventually getting the 5" too for sure, it has much thinner jaws than the 6" despite the overall size not being that different.

I thought that might be the case. I watched a youtbe video on it, and they looked thinner, but was not called out as feature. I probably should have ordered that. damn you Knipex and your never ending sizes for every situation :)

While looking to complete my Gearwrench Ratcheting Combination wrenches, I successfully matched to Menards on them where they are on clearance. Doubt Sears is going to look to see if you have one around, but going to get a 18mm & 1-1/8 much cheaper than I had been anticipating, at least if I bought through Sears.

Yeah, I wasn't sure just how much different they would be until I had both in hand... someone mentioned it briefly in one Amazon review, but it hasn't gotten much attention. I haven't gotten out the calipers or anything, but it looks like the 5" are about half the thickness of the 6" jaws.

Good to know they will match Menards too.

A pile of new Sears.com points-back deals someone shared on SD... they started 10/7 and end 10/20, except the last one which ends 10/13.

"Spend $75 on Lawn and Garden get $75 over 3 installments.
- $25 the next day, again on 11/20 and 12/20"

"Spend $60 on Shoes get $60 over 3 installments. There's also spend $60 on Home, and I'm not sure if these are part of the same promotion or not.
- $20 the next day and again on 11/20 and 12/20 ..."

"Spend $100 on tools and get $50 over 2 installments.
- $25 the next day and again on (not specified)"

"Spend $15 on clothing and get $15. Offer goes to 10/13"

Yes, my 6" Pliers Wrench deal worked out in the end. :) It sounded like she had figured out some unspecified way to convince herself to do the Amazon match despite thinking she was only supposed to match companies that have physical stores [which of course Amazon is starting to have now too, and Home Depot doesn't sell these in-store, but I wasn't going to try to get into all that, lol], but I went ahead and shared the Home Depot link with her once I found it, and that seemed to make her more willing to help work out the multiple other complications. Several people have reported successful Amazon price-matches in the past, but if Home Depot, Lowes, or Walmart have the same price or close to it, that's looking like more of a sure thing from now on.

Just want to share that I tried to price match a Knipex to Amazon and Home Depot, and failed. I guess I need to find a friendlier CS :lol_hitti

They should take HD (and Walmart) even if they won't take Amazon. Try again a bit later and hopefully you'll get a better rep.

Never had anyone reject a HD match. Only one's denied were one to a local True Value page (thought they would be on their approved list) and one from Walmart because it was through a 3rd party, even though I had successfully done so before. Can't hurt to chat with someone else.

If any of you happen to have a Wells Fargo credit card and a local Kmart near you that's still open, you probably have a bonus cashback offer currently available on the Wells Fargo Go Far Rewards portal for either 15% or 40% back at Kmart (different people/cards receive different offers). The offer only works on one in-store purchase.

Thank you guys! I may try this again when I have enough points. For now, I just get a different Knipex pliers.

Several news outlets are saying tonight Sears is filing for bankruptcy as early as this week. You guys better use all your points up asap or risk losing them.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/sears-hires-advisers-to-prepare-bankruptcy-filing-report

You beat me to post this. Any ideas what to get? I have about ~$60 worth of points. I thinking something that available at the local hometown store so I can pick it up asap before they close.

Dang it, I just bought a knipex which will be shipped - I hope they ship it.

If you have any incomplete sets of things, I'd prioritize completing those if possible.

The bankruptcy paperwork is being prepared as a contingency for if Eddie can't pull more financial maneuvers out of his pants at the last minute (as he has done multiple times before, though eventually it will be one time too many); filing isn't a sure thing yet. If/when filing does occur, nobody knows yet what the timeline will be for what will happen to people's points (and gift cards too). When Toys R Us began their total liquidation earlier this year, there was a grace period for the first month to use up rewards points and gift cards, FWIW. And the initial filing is usually not for liquidation; businesses of this size usually have months of attempted 'restructuring' first, as Toys R Us did, during which time points and gift cards kept working as usual.

I will still have $100 or so in "future" points to risk. There are acceptable sales right now and with coupons which quite possibly won't work in the future I dumped my current points. It's been a fun ride and I will always believe Sears could have beat amazon at their own game with the distribution network they had, but that ship has sailed. I have many choice words for eddie. The sears catalog was the highlight of the leadup to Christmas every year growing up. Sears and craftsman will always be special.

 I picked up some Craftsman holiday ornaments last year, which happened to be the 90th anniversary of Craftsman. It's not as if I don't have enough tools to 'remember them by' anyway, but I thought it was a nice memorabilia thing. It's looking like there won't be any more Craftsman ornaments this year, as I'd suspected then... even if Sears doesn't go under yet, they don't have any new ones on the website that I could find, and my store has a bunch of ornaments unpacked and on the seasonal shelves already, which do not include any Craftsman ones.

Update: They found some more ornaments to unpack, and turns out there ARE Craftsman ones again! 5 repeats from last year (now in non-anniversary packaging), but 1 new one, a snowman holding tools. I just spent all my points on other stuff, but I'll probably try to get that one before things shut down.

Fast Eddie has been playing with Sears and talking bankruptcy as the only option if they don't sell him the Kenmore brand and the remaining real estate. If he gets his way, bankruptcy will be postponed for a while and he walks away with everything of remaining value. He will also have them use the payment he makes to them for Kenmore and RE to pay back some of his old loans to them.

Sounds like we do not have to rush and use up our points this morning....

RE: incomplete sets, that is going to be a problem. My priority is Knipex. Assuming my last order got shipped, that makes it #15, and I am a long way from having a complete set :lol_hitti

What I glean from Pan Fried's post is the will do a chapter 11 and try to stay in business. They added a restructuring executive. Not a chapter 7, where they would close for good. What the chapter 11 means for our points I do not know but I would not panic and spend them immediately. I also would bet the board sells Kenmore to Lampert for another bandaid fix.

Yeah, can't know anything for sure at this point, but as I mentioned last night, Toys R Us had their points program continue as-is throughout Chapter 11, and the points were usable for a month into Chapter 7. Hopefully it's going to be similar with Sears, especially since that restructuring executive came from Toys R Us.

Well clearly the Toys R Us bankruptcy model is the one to follow. Lampert does seem to be doing a great job following the Toys R Us hedge fund ownership plan.

Hmmm... do you think I should reconsider my plans to save up all my points for a snowblower?!?

By the way, did anyone see notice this goofy Cashback deal on snowblowers?

100% CASHBACK in points if 3" of snow falls in Central Park

At Central Park, New York City on November 11, 2018 verified by the National Weather Service. Valid in store and online on Craftsman snow thrower purchases. Offer valid for Shop Your Way® members only. Offer ends 11/3/18. Exclusions apply. See a Sears store or sears.com for details.

At least, they're going out with a laugh...

Seems as if you bought the blower on the 3rd, you would be within the return policy if the snow fails to deliver. Wonder if Sears got insurance on this deal like jewelers do, or similar promotions?

In the 25 years I lived down that way only once did it snow before Thanksgiving. I don’t recall it being 3”.

I think it's only happened once... in 2012... we got hit with Hurricane Sandy... followed by a Halloween blizzard (NJ more so than NYC)... followed by another Nor'easter a week later. I think the last Nor'easter dumped about 4" on NYC.

But, typically, highs are in the mid-50s that time of year.

Talked to a Sears rep today and asked about SYW points and if they will be valid after they file bankruptcy later this week.....he said I need to talk to SYW about that.... :( Not a good sign. I used $44 in points today, still have $88 left plus the monthly residual.
