Got my order delivered truck freight yesterday...
Sold them as a lot to a local store for $8.90 each, so an easy hundred dollars in my pocket, and got $75 in points in 3 installments, 2 of which I've already used with a $10 freecash to get two more sets of cobalt drill bits for free.

Thanks to whomever posted that deal here!
i love hearing these sort of stories even if im not the one making the $ on them. double thanks for the OP--i'm not saying i got a free toolbox, but i am saying they refunded my money then two weeks later gave me an email saying the item was ready for pick up, and now someone i know is going to get a nice little gift for x mas ;) :D

LOL for some reason all those mowers look straight out of the 80's...

Glad I ordered the stubby ratchet when I did, it was on sale for $20.67 (before points) yesterday... Today it's up to $25.98, which is higher than it's normal price... *shrug*

They seemed to have jacked up the prices ahead of this weekends friends and family sale.

Updates on the situation with appliances... [Oct 27]

Good news: Customer orders hadn't been trucked to stores since at least 2 weeks ago, but some have started arriving again the past couple of days, presumably due to renegotiation with the trucking companies. But this is just for things that were already in the warehouses.

Bad news: Whirlpool, which stopped selling Sears any of their non-Kenmore brands last year, had continued as a Kenmore manufacturer since then. But now they are so fed up with the millions of dollars Sears is behind on paying them, that they have filed with the bankruptcy court requesting permission to seize all the Whirlpool-manufacturered Kenmore appliances currently in stock in Sears/Kmart/Innovel warehouses and stores. IIRC the list of vendors Sears owes the most money to, Whirlpool is the one that's in deepest, so their request might be more likely to get approved.

As of Nov 1, Serta Simmons, GE, Electrolux, and Haier are now making similar demands as Whirlpool, trying to seize their products from Sears' inventory.

And Sears has now stopped selling appliance protection agreements (extended warranties).

Also, "Hanes says they're not sending any more merchandise this quarter", though they're not seizing what they've already supplied.

Wow! Sears has REALLY worn out their welcome with suppliers, and deservedly so. I feel badly for the employees who have already, and will continue to lose their jobs due to all the mismanagement of this company.

I forgot to place an order today and lost $21 worth of points :tantrum2: I looked earlier in the day and just didn’t see much in stock worth ordering. I looked at the impact screwdrivers or some air pressure gauges, just nothing I needed. I think I have one more $25 point payment just before thanksgiving, then I should be done with sears.

Try asking the chat people if they can give you your expired points back, as soon as you can on Saturday... I've heard they will occasionally do that if you juuust missed the deadline like that, especially if it's the first time you've asked.

As of Nov 3, Apex Tools (Craftsman, Gearwrench, etc) has now filed with the bankruptcy court to try to seize their products from Sears too.

" Pursuant to section 546(c) of the Bankruptcy Code, Apex hereby demands the reclamation and return of all goods shipped by Apex and received by the Debtors in the ordinary course of business within forty-five (45) days prior to the Petition Date (the “Goods”). Details regarding the Goods shipped from Asia are attached hereto as Exhibit A, and details regarding the Goods shipped from Apex, NC are attached hereto as Exhibit B. The total value of the Goods, as set forth in the exhibits, is $7,280,149.53. "

The attachments aren't available yet, I'll check them for more info when available. I think the 'Petition Date' is when Sears filed bankruptcy, Oct 15.

The 10% off Family & Friends sale has begun. Nov 4 in-store, Nov 4-6 online. Reminder to get on Sears chat once it opens today and ask for price protection adjustments on anything you bought online from Sears in the past 30 days.

I should be getting about $3.30 back (I had several other purchases in the past month but they were in-store, which is usually an exercise in futility to try to do adjustments on).

Craftsman 8pc Pinless Impact Drive Tool Accessory Set $40.17 (regular price $90)
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-8pc...SellerId=Sears&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4

Does anyone know anything about this Steelman Pro 72-Tooth 1/2-Inch Drive Thin Profile Ratchet with Offset Handle? $16.19. I think this must be new, I do not remember seeing this ratchet before. I have not been able to find any review on this. I could use a ratchet with offset handle.

personally, i think this is a pretty good deal if youre looking for a tool cabinet:

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-41-inch-8-drawer-heavy-duty-ball/p-00958646000P

i know a lot of GJers dont care for CM, but at this price its a decent buy IMHO. by the time you use RMN $35/300, get $15 cash back, and use however many points you have saved up, you could get this for $200 or less. sure boxes like HF might be heavier made and/or larger, but theyre also close to $500. even at lowes youre going to be $400+ deep for this.

i plan to pick up at least one more before sears goes under for good, hopefully two by christmas

this is the last time i'll preach this cabinet, but it's on sale for $269.99 for F&F and you just cant get one this large in that price range. once you add some coupons/freecash and points and you can get it cheap. bought one last week for $145 out the door.

mini review: decent quality cabinet, wish CM used better casters and this would be perfect if it had slow close drawers, but its nice as a utility cabinet. nothing special, but well, well worth what you'll have in it.

a word of warning though: if you plan to buy, do it sooner than later. between my parents and myself we got 3 last week and had to drive 100 miles for them--i think its an in-stock-only item now as i had the chat reps working overtime to try and place an order at a closer store for ship to store pick up but no luck. because of that, this is the last one i'll be getting, but between myself and my parents' wood shop, we picked up 7 since september.

SharkSaw Multi-Angle Saw 10-5/8”, 15 tpi - $24.34

https://www.sears.com/sharksaw-multi-angle-saw-10-5-8-8221-15-tpi/p-00902101000P

Shark saws are pretty well-regarded... made in Japan. This model was available for shipping or in-store pickup... and the adjustable handle could come in handy. Buy it by itself... or add $10.66 worth of stuff... and opt for either free shipping... or use the RMN $5 off $35 in Tools coupon and pick up in-store, if you've still got a Sears nearby.

Hmm, intriguing. I don't recall noticing these on Sears.com before (evidently it's been there a while, but AFAIK I hadn't come across them myself or seen them mentioned before). I already have a pretty good pull saw from Harbor Freight, but it doesn't have an adjustable handle like this... But I wonder whether this vendor is really still shipping. :headscrat (Things like this are usually 'Sears Authorized Supplier' situations.) Maybe I'll call them on Monday...

I just bought a tool during F&F in store. I used a $5 coupon from waiting over 5 minutes for merchandise pickup, so they would honor the F&F discount. Anyone else run into this? I contacted chat when I got home and they said they can't see the store sales and can't help.

In store they treat the FandF like a coupon as well. Basically you can't use two coupons.

Yes... but is it a Shark?!?

With Knipex gone... and Gearwrench possibly next, I had to cast a wider net to use up points... so I'm hoping it ships... but if you're going to call, let us know what they tell you.

Craftsman 8PC MASTER SENSOR SOCKET SET - $37.92

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-8pc-master-sensor-socket-set/p-00904928000P

I have this set... no complaints. COO Taiwan... appears to be identical to the Gearwrench offering.

It'll ship for free... or pick up in-store... and use the RMN $5 off $35 in Tools coupon.

It is the Gearwrench set, and its awesome! I used it 3 times last week alone, only upgrade worth getting is a SAE 24 solid hose clamp, you can use it on the O2 sensor sockets to prevent any spreading if that sensor is really stuck.

I played with these for a minute in store and was not impressed. One screwdriver is packaged hanging out so you can "play" with it. It would ratchet one way but took many tries for me to get it to reverse. Not sure what the issue was, I twisted the switch many times to the correct position and it was still locked like it was in the center position. Finally it started working right but I was done considering them by then. And the switch, the silver cap you twist to reverse direction, felt very flimsy and looked like it would fall off soon.

Anyway, just my opinion, I wouldn't waste any money on these.

Hey @kball, really appreciate your short review here. This really helps since local home store do not have this in stock for me to test before buying

Must be luck of the draw all 8 of mine work very well. No problems at all with my set but it is possible to have a few lemons in the batch. There is the chance that there has been 100 different people toying with that same screwdriver. Hence the reason i never take the front set on the rack I allways go 4 or 5 sets back when buy a set at the store. not being argumenative just a thought.

I've definitely seen variations like that on a number of other Craftsman products with moving parts. I prefer to test/inspect stuff like that in-store when possible. Quality control ain't what it used to be. ;)
