I ordered a set of GearWrench pliers yesterday... just got a "Your Items Have Shipped" e-mail with a tracking number... for what that's worth.

Yep thanks!

Finally I got a tracking number for mine as well. So we know GW is still shipping their products

If Sears still exists by then, there's now an extended return period, like most stores do this time of year...

" Most items purchased between 11/1 -12/24 will have an extended return period through 1/31/19. Members have 45 days for most non-delivered/installed items or 1/31/19, whichever is better. Items sold by third party sellers, floor care equipment, vacuums, major home appliances, sewing machines, water treatment, plumbing, heating equipment, mattresses and items with return policy period less than 30 days are not covered by the extended Holiday Return Policy. Terms of standard policy (including, but not limited to, non-returnable items, restocking fee, original packaging, etc.) apply. "

And there's a couple of smaller points-back deals going on now. The points show up the next day, no waiting for installments, so it's worth doing if you need something from the right departments.

"Spend $15+ on Shoes, get $15 CASHBACK in points. Points issued within 24 hours. Points valid for 14 days. Ends 11/17. Offer not valid with any other offer. †Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction."

"Get $25 CASHBACK in points when you spend $25 or more on qualifying home goods at Sears.com. Valid online only and only on items Sold by Sears. Max $25 in points per member. Points issued within 24 hours after transaction. Points valid for 14 days. Offer valid 11/04/2018–11/17/2018. Exclusions apply. Purchase requirement calculated before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction."

Just went to my local Sears. Most of the Irwin brand locking pliers were on sale for 7 or 8 bucks. The craftsman 10 inch long reach pliers were on sale for 8 bucks but no other craftsman brand pliers were on sale. These prices were not available online.

Just an idea for that 10 dollar free cash if you haven't spent it.

A new list of 40 stores to be closed was announced on Thu 11/8. These stores were mostly on the 'under review' list of 211 stores that were likely to have closure announcements in mid-November, but 4 of them were on the 'last stores standing' list of 333 stores that they unexpectedly decided to close prematurely. Most likely explanation (especially for the 3 Puerto Rico stores, which were some of the generally-high-performing 'island' stores) is they got an offer for those 4 stores' real estate.

Liquidation for these stores will begin next week (around Fri Nov 16), and conclude in early Feb 2019.

Looks like the Master Sensor Socket set is back at full price, and the Tool Chest seat is up to $75.99. Bummer.

What city do you live in Hexen? I'm guessing Houston or Dallas?

Closer to Houston than Dallas. I'm still 'safe' so far... hopefully a just-mediocre-enough market for the remaining stores to keep doing a decent amount of business, but not so desirable that they sell the real estate prematurely. ;)

Here's the juicy details on why that 41st store got added to yesterday's closing list... "Farmingville, NY Kmart location is facing eviction after they reneged on payment to the landlord for payment of maintenance that Kmart themselves should've done years ago. Landlord is considering it a breech of their lease and says Kmart has no business occupying the premises." :wtf:

Its in there black friday add for $60 so you can still get one just gotta wait a week. Gonna make them price match when it drops.:)

I'm sure you will find an agent to do so, but expect a few denials during the week after Thanksgiving. My Hometown store said the ability to price match during November was removed. I'm not 100% sure that's true, as that is 3/4 of the month that they still should be able to. Seems silly to turn that off on Nov 1

They are getting tighter and tighter with the price adjusting. Took me three reps to do a standard tool the other day and none would touch anything in automotive department. If they didn't upgrade me for free to a more expensive battery I'd have just returned and repurchased.

Far cry from the days of 75% discounts using the hometown site to price match at Sears.

Of course my store is still good to go. Being close to the most expensive Sears in the country with lines at all hours has it's perks! The downside is they don't really accept returns anymore for any reason, so I've got to go 30 miles north to return anything.....

That said I'm really not seeing any deals on the website lately at all. Even with 100% back in points. Harbor freight has such nicer tools for less upfront.

...

I had no problem getting a price adjustment on Sunday, FWIW. But it was on relatively inexpensive tools that had only dropped by a few dollars. Maybe they're either more reluctant to adjust on things that have dropped more than a certain amount of dollars, or things that cost more than a certain amount of dollars total?

Same issues on Sunday trying to price match the last 30 days worth of orders, it took me disconnecting 3 times until I got an agent that wasn't giving me the run around....

Also found Jacobs chucks/repair kits/ and wedge kits were really cheap, and shipped direct. Picked up some MT3 and MT4 adapters, and removal wedges cheaper than I could find anywhere else.

My Sears was just listed to close.

My wife is asking me about what happens with the Refrigerators? Any deals to be had there?

Typically the fire sales are run by a liquidation company are 10-15% off which are not great. Over a set period of time the discounts rise as the inventory diminishes.

my local is 2 months into liquidation and the floor is full of appliances still. not a single deal worth mentioning on the big ticket items--lawn mowers, appliances, mattresses with big yellow tags that dont compare to online or other big box stores normal prices.
YMMV i hope, but dont hold your breath

Shop around for prices at the Mega Stores then, Go to your local appliance store for a deal..... The prices are good on appliances that are left over from last year.

BTW! You will be helping the local business man who will be grateful for your business.

And will still be around to service it later. :)

But @danny_barkley if you do want to try for a Sears deal, the best chance might be to go over there in the next few days before the store goes into official liquidation mode next weekend, while the appliance salespeople are still getting paid on a commission basis, and ask what's the best they can do on a floor model. I wouldn't try to buy any appliance from Sears that you can't take home right from the store anymore, because even if they tell you it can be ordered, it may take a month or more to fulfill the order or it may never arrive at all. All the appliance manufacturers are very unhappy with Sears, and the employees even at not-closing-yet stores have been concerned about being able to get appliance orders fulfilled lately.

I stopped by a random Sears Hometown store last night. Picked up a little 3/8 ratchet set for $9.99, a 7 piece nut driver set for $19.99, and a set of deep well impact sockets for $21.99. Lots of other things on sale. Beats online prices....

The risk is, its possible the court ends the SYW program on the 15th when they meet, and any points you have go ****.

Possible yes but sears has dodged the bullet so far. But this could be the silver bullet that gets them.

The main reason I say the program could end, or at least not be accepted at kmart/sears, is it is rumored (rather heavily) that the creditors involved are planning to fund the next round of funding without Eddie and his Hedgefund. If the banks are funding I feel they will nix the rewards. Eddie is the main proponent of the rewards continuing.

Makes sense why my price match points were set to expire on the 14th even though they were awarded last weekend.

If you mean price adjustment on a previous purchase, that's the same thing I did last weekend (Sunday) and received points that expire in December 2019. :headscrat

Yeah, same as most here for the F&F event. I got roughly $44 in points back but $31.** were set to expire on the 14th so I ordered some consumables from Kmart - which is scheduled to close around me. Even THAT ship is sailing...

Hmm, only PART of the points you got back expire on the 14th, while the other guy got entirely points back that expire on the 14th, and all of my small amount back last a whole year (if the company lasts that long)... I don't think this is some conspiracy that they think the points program is going to shut down on Nov 15th, or they would have made all of these points back for all of us expire on the 14th.

Do either of you remember if you had used points on those purchases that were scheduled to expire on Nov 14th? Getting refunds on returned products gives you points back with their original expiration dates if they weren't already expired, so maybe that's what happened for you two? All of the points I'd originally spent on my price-adjusted purchases had already expired by the time I requested the adjustment. So maybe that's what the difference is.

Nothing great going on at Sears for Veteran's Day sales... varying appliance sale, and 10% off shoes/clothes/home/jewelry with online coupon code "SAVE10" (which will prevent using any other coupons and freecash surprise points) through Mon 11/12. Tools is just the ongoing 'Craftsman Saver Days' promotion with varying sales on specific items, and $30 back in points with $100 spent OOP.

My 3 ship-to-store orders from a week ago are still sitting on "Processing" with no tracking numbers available yet. :( One (a Craftsman hammer) wasn't expected for a few weeks, but the other two (SharkSaw and Craftsman body clip tool set) were expected to arrive this week, so I'm getting a bit antsy.

At least the SharkSaw webpages are still up.

After the bankruptcy, I've had a lot of trouble with orders involving a "Sears Authorized Supplier". All the product webpages from the supplier are removed a few days after my order, and the order gets stuck in "Processing". It's like the customer orders are used by the Sears IT staff to clean up the Sears website.

Ha, wow. Shark did tell me they were still shipping Sears orders as of the day I ordered, and the Craftsman items are being just as sluggish as far as what information is provided to me, so hopefully that won't happen with these.

I see that the status of my SharkSaw order is 'delivered' (as in shipped to store)... but I haven't gotten the "Your order is ready" e-mail, yet.

That's the same case with another order... so I'm hoping they just haven't finished sorting through things off the UPS truck, yet.
