Those GW flex sets go uber cheap every holiday season. The past 2 years I've picked up probably 10 sets rarely paying more than $20 using random sales, freecash, near-immediate points etc.

I've gifted them, stocked trucks, and I keep a set at each mill for setup and teardown of toe clamps, angle plates, 1-2-3s etc (all of which is still fractional these days --- but wait, we've converted to metric don't ya know????). HAH!

FWIW...kmart texted me a $10 off $25 coupon a few days ago and i just tried to use it today at kmart online and it wouldnt work, said none of my items were eligible (even though they werent hot buys). coupon was supposed to be good for kmart only, online or in store, valid til 12/12. so i said whatever and tried it at SYW and sears and both of those sites accepted it. YMMV but its worth a shot if you have a kmart coupon to try at sears. i got an item higher on my wish list because it wasnt available thru kmart but was at sears

youre linking to the CM version, its the international ones that are cheaper. the black 42" for $93 went OOS while in my cart so i chatted with a rep and asked if i could get free shipping on the red one for the same price. no go. so i asked about a few others on sale where one color came w free shipping and another for the same price didnt, he said he couldnt do anything. so he offered me $10 for the inconvenience and asked if i wanted to order the higher priced one. i asked if he could take $20 off the one above and he "checked with his supervisor" and said yes he could. so i got the ^^^ above for $110 minus points.

basically, if youve got some time to kill it doesnt hurt to ask a chat rep if they can help out. usually they cant, but i'll take a 42" top box for $54 OOP shipped to my door any day :thumbup:

Good advice for chatting with the CS, and congrats for getting 42" top box for $54. I got the 42' black international top box for $54.83 OOP after using all my points :bounce: Very exciting! Now I need to figure out what to get for $25 worth of points which will expire 12/16.

Mine will be ready for pick-up Jan 3 at Cincinnati. I got a trip coming up so hopefully it will not be delayed and the timing works out perfectly.

The longstanding texting coupons/offers like that stopped working months ago for many of us. :dunno: You just get a reply with the coupon center link when that happens, and nothing new in it.

Just want to share that I just picked up mine, and I think this magnetic panel is pretty good. Have not decided how/where I am going to install mine, but I am thinking to mount it on the wall. Sorta a basecamp for my my wrench and sockets when I work on my cars since most of the time I only take the necessary sizes out of the tool box. The magnet is surprisingly strong, it can holds my 10" Knipex plier wrench.

I may pick up another one since I have $25 in points to spend by the end of the week and not sure what to buy.

The description shows 60 teeth and the part number doesn’t have the P to be the 120XP ratchets. I just purchased the 120XP ratchet set off Amazon for $78 shipped. If these were indeed the 120XP and one had points to burn they would be an OK deal.

You tried texting 'STOP'... and waiting a few days (I waited a couple of weeks) before texting 'CLUB', right?

The text I received has two URLS... the first one is supposed to allow you to add the coupon to your account... but that never works (it just brings you to the 'regular' coupon page as your described). However, the second link displays a coupon. I have to type the code in manually at check out... but it works.

By the way, if you manage to get to that page, save that text. Usually, the link (and coupon) remain available for several weeks... with only the expiration date changing. I have used the coupon... checked back 2-3 weeks later... and the page was still up... but the expiration date had changed... and used it again. Guess that counts as a 'new' coupon... as it won't let me use it a 2nd time until one with a new expiration date shows up.

Of course, the coupon was more valuable when free shipping was at $35... now, if the coupon drops the total below $59, no free shipping.

I just cleared most of my $70.** points on a Capri Tools master hex bit set I’d had in my cart for a while. It was $76, but with the 15% off sale and a $5 off $35 coupon and free shipping it cost me $59.60. I used $59.59 in points and paid a penny out of pocket. For some reason there was an error when I tried to use all points, but it went through fine with me paying a penny. The Amazon price is $52.99, so this was close enough.

Saw a Green Monday banner with timer on Sears website, but I cannot find any new offer only for Monday. :confused:

Chat does load the link in the header on all the sears.com pages as usual for me, and clicking on it does open the normal first screen of chat where you enter your info. Maybe a temporary glitch you ran into.

A chat agent was honest enough to admit he could not find any details about a Green Monday offer, and said he'd report the error. Instructed me to check the site again in a few hours, but I doubt they'll fix anything before the timer is up.

Says my order from black friday is suppose to be ready for pickup today. Nope. Don't trust them if it isn't in stock. A buddy had to wait a week or two longer than he was quoted earlier this month.


Disclaimer only spent $1.61 of my money; let them foot the rest of it in points.

I meant it looks like they didn't intend to offer any additional discount today, just advertise some selected already-on-sale items to draw additional attention to them. :dunno:

Whenever it disappears for me (which is fairly often) I can get back by deleting my sears / shopyourway cookies.

Multimeter that's probably a step up from the HF freebie. $13.32

And currently down to $11.04

I can't say that electronically if it's any better than the HF freebie, but constructionally it's much better made. The leads are more robust and it has an outer removable protection cover (the red part). Pretty good spare or dedicated purpose multimeter IMO. It also has a pull out stand on the back of the protection cover.

HF has several other models of multimeters that are nicer than the ones they give away for free, FWIW. I think those are all more than $11, though.

I figured the lack of any specific Monday offer was due to their usual incompetence.

I guess it's also possible they are intentionally deceiving customers with fake sale events. That countdown clock did succeed in getting me to click on the banner.

Now, I can no longer even see the Green Monday countdown.

Heh, if I go directly to the Deals section from the Sears homepage, I don't see the Green Monday banner. Though, I can use the link from my earlier post to find the Green Monday banner. :headshake

Whaddaya know, the promised refund on my screwed-up hammer order actually materialized! :eek: It took 10 days (1.5 weeks) from the time I was told in chat that it would take 1-2 weeks. I was not optimistic, since the part of the website we can see still doesn't reflect the cancellation.

Have you tried looking at your orders on shopyourway.com? I've noticed it seems to be more up to date than either Sears or Kmart, and it will have the tracking numbers that almost never show up on the other sites. It even has the tracking numbers for the orders shipped to store, which is important since my local store finds it impossible to mark orders as having arrived....:headscrat

Except maybe they aren't.

I ordered these on Dec. 6th for $24.99 and they were supposed to be in by Dec13th. However I saw earlier today that they were on sale for $22.94 so I ordered them again since they indicated they'd be available for pickup today. When I received the confirming email that they were ready for pick up I got online with Chat and asked them to cancel the previous order and put up the refund. I later headed out to Sears to pick up my order and sure enough......they came out with the ones with no striking cap and made in china. DOH!!! So the backroom guy hands me off to a floor person and she looks it all up and says there should be 3 of them on the floor and her and I go off to find them. No luck. She supposedly got me a refund and put the points I used back in my account. With any luck, my order canceling efforts with chat will fail and I will still get these, but I doubt it. Now I gotta check the credit card tomorrow and see if my refunds posted overnight. :confused:

That is kinda lousy to give the customer a different item. I think most people probably would not realize it.

This should be a warning sign that perhaps these US made pry bars are being replaced by cheaper pry bars.

Been looking there the whole time. And it USED to get the shipment tracking numbers reliably, but has only gotten 1 out of several tracking numbers on my orders the past couple months. Things are just working less and less reliably (unsurprisingly as more and more people get laid off).

I could be wrong, but I don't think it was done on purpose, at least not at the local level. Perhaps the person(s) responsible for putting the item on sale and associating the photo with the item did it on purpose? Regardless, as you say, "most people probably would not realize it" and that includes the people working for Sears apparently. My refund didn't show up over night, I'm going to give it a couple more days before I dispute the charge. I've been trying to get as much as I can from these sales/points etc, but it may be getting close to time for me to stop. I could see some disputed charges down the road getting lost in the bankruptcy/shuttered doors mess that seems to be looming and one or two of those could wipe out any savings achieved over several months.
