That welding table is extremely similar to mine. Looks great. Be careful pounding on the vise with it only being supported by the plate. I don't see a tube underneath it. The plate will start bending down.
I've got a 1-3/4" tube mated into a receiver welded under the steel plate so will support any pounding that I need to do. Only drawback is if I have to torque something really hard, I worry about the wheels holding the cart in place. That would have been one of the advantages of mounting it to my permanent workbench.

I needed a bin to store my steel scrap. I previously used two 55 gallon drums and stored it in the back shed but we now store a car in the shed so my scrap storage got evicted. I wanted to keep the scrap inside and out of sight to keep the property looking neat. So I built this bin 32” square by 24” deep which converts close to the same volume as 2 steel drums, but takes up less room. The bin is made of 1/8” steel and I bent a lip in the top edge to help reinforce it from bending from abuse.IMG_0270.jpg

Nice bin and should hold a lot. When the bin is full, how do you get the scrap to the scrap yard, unload the bin or put bin on a trailer?

Ok, intimidated by the artistry and perfection in this thread, I’m gonna show my little project any way.
While I have a perfectly good in-ground MC lift in the attached garage, said lift is currently covered up with all the things related to a bathroom remodel. The Ultra has an issue and I wanted to put it on the lift so I used this as the excuse to finally build an adapter to put it on the two-post in the shop.
The bike is quite low to the ground and it became a challenge to make something flat, thin and strong enough.
I started building something with angle but it quickly became obvious that it would be way too tall to work.
I started over with 1/2” plate, a big bolt and tried to “low profile” it.

A test fit before adding bracing

Also had to check the flex without the extra bracing... just had to know, ya know?

Way too much flex.
I decided that the footprint needed to be larger (adapter to lift arm) for stability so I reattached part of the dropped piece and the added the 3/4 stock that I was planning.

No flex, much more stable.
Cleaned it up a bit.
83de7b2092fe4e3505b1afe34910c9ec.jpg
It’s actually way more stable than expected, even on the long arm.
I’ll only use it on the short arms anyway.
The issue that lead me to the lift:
cfedb57413108a6488c30107fc3b30f6.jpg
It’s really nice to be able to take a look *under* the bike!
While in there, I can change that annoying leaky shift shaft seal.
Bolt head clearance is the reason for the offset.

Oh, for Christmas the kids made some signage for the shop!

Very cool surly. I've built a couple like that, one for the two wheelers and one for the four that go on my hydraulic table. The two wheeler one got some elongated holes and some brackets so I can clamp down the bike frame that way there's no chance of tipping. The four wheeler just gets a clamp.

Yep, I’m working on a J-bolt clamp design to lock it down.

I tacked on this piece to reinforce the lip on an old DR brush mower after bending out what was left as well as I could.

Threw this together in a hurry one afternoon months ago to drag the brush and minor humps out of an atv trail I had just cut. Welded 20 or so teeth on the big piece of pipe the other night and am now dragging it behind the ole Elan to knock out the crust and level the skidoo trails. Works great for both purposes, pavement doesn't appreciate the trip between the house and the woods though :lol_hitti Thinking some fold up wheels will be the next improvement.

Also a quick Brush Guard for the Daihatsu made from some other scrap that was laying around. Also built a simple Rear Bumper/Hitch Receiver for it but cant find pictures.

Added a 3 legged stick in ground base for the sail boat I made. Unscrew base and add a 3/8" threaded rod to desired length. Great for in flower bed setting.

Awesome. I shall copy when we move to an acreage! All the more reason to ride my little 500!

I helped my dad with a driveway drag to pull behind his ATV.

I picked up some used grader blades at work. Originally 7' long so the mechanic threw them in the band saw and cut them in half for me.

My dad had the 12V actuator from a previous ag product so that was free, we used old leaf springs from my Bronco when I upgraded those, free. I had some sold snowmobile parts to use for the frame and arms, free. All I had to source were the two rear casters from a recycle yard.

Now, he can lift the drag and lower when and where he needs it.

So I bought a new AHP Alpha TIG to replace the 1973 Airco unit.
And my buddy said he 'expects a full report, including images of perfect beads, and razor blades welded together'....pullin my chain no doubt.

Ah, what the heck, give it a shot......completely vaporized the first pair.
Second try was better, but the tacks were too heavy and the left side got messed up a bit. Oh well, technically they are welded together....

Good job, what filler (and dia.) did you use? Did you use the pulse feature?

I put together a portable stand for my bench grinder. Made it from leftover radial arm saw and table saw parts and some old caster wheels I had laying around. This was in part for the purpose of practicing welding on thinner metals. I haven't finalized the crank mechanism yet. 739921068fe4bba32c6900eebd57f85e.jpgaeeaf7746f02ddd64303f75c6a7cc75a.jpg09e9f053003154d6dcf3d1c7df0ebb33.jpg52be4d97fd610096107bf55f3e9574df.jpg5f2bd3834e17f54ff86576f65d3f58c3.jpgc6bb2c6e133e37ce26d5588ed8a70ff6.jpg

Not that it's any of your business, and it's really nothing to write home about, and it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick... but my latest welding project involved welding 1/8" tube frame rails to my Miata.

I used 308 or 309 ...whatever it is .030 mig wire and the 'laywire' technique, laying it in the joint.
The AHP only goes down to 9 amps which is very hot for this, so I tried to keep the arc on the filler wire. I used the pulse and turned the 'on' time all the way down. I had to zip across in about 3-ish seconds before it all went up in a flash like the first attempt

Sneak peak of my HF 44" tool box bench build. Starting paint tonight after cleanup on Isle 3. I'll start a thread when I'm done.

I like the all in one welder cart.

Lookin at the 100$ ones on amazon with the drawers underneath for consummables then would do grinder mounts etc on it.

Need two of those carts soon enough.

I don't go thru many consumables so I didn't really need a place for them. I do have a few bar clamps I'm trying to figure out a place for. They might not make it on there since it's so full already

Understandable for you, I just like to have extras on hand......tips, nozzles, one extra roll of Wire as I always seem to run out after hours, especially Gas. I figure for 78 buck rental a year I might as well have two bottles on hand soon.

For the eventual TIG, I want batches of tungsten and rod. Don’t see me working much with TIG but it’s definitely a skill I want to master.
