From one S-K junkie to another, YOU ****! $25 for that tool board is a nice score.

I liked the thumb wheel ratchet so much I had to get both sizes. I use them as ratcheting screwdrivers mostly. I have some stubby wrenches and a few other things.

I have a majority of SK tools in my box. My long, short, and open metric and standard wrenches are sk. Screwdrivers and torx drivers, a ratchet in each size, extensions, 1/4, 3/8, & 1/2" metric and fractional sockets, and punches (not shown). I like Snap-On better typically, but SK are way more than I need as a homeowner and jeeper. I do love their chrome, though some of the later socket broaching leftovers don't impress me. Most of mine are the cleaned out variety though. the screwdrivers have been ok but I think my craftsman pro's are at least as good, but I got the SK on sale when they went bankrupt.

I'd love to have one of the SK signs from the side of the building from Defiance. I think I remember seeing they were having an auction but I didn't go....

I had to jump on the board you dont see them very often and it was quite a drive to go get. Should have it cleaned it a few weeks.

I've got some SK wrenches from the 90's, and the Super Chrome is excellent. I recently had my 10mm combination wrench snap one of the open end "legs" off. I wasn't using excessive force, just my hand on a stubborn bolt, it just snapped. I contacted SK and sent them the wrench for warranty exchange. They quickly shipped me another wrench, I was happy. That is, until I looked at the quality of the new wrench. The chrome is awful, there is pitting and sharp edges all over the wrench. I would not recommend SK for anything new. I've contacted them to see if they will do anything about it. Sorry, I don't have pics of the offending wrench, just some of my good ones.

I just got my new S-K tools catalog, today!!! :eyecrazy:

Now understand folks, young men have fantasies, but old men have delusions...

So what do I find...a 67 year old's delusion...

Item # 86850A-1....850 pc Senior Mechanics Tool Set

Question: Has anyone bought/used this set, and how much would it cost???

Thanks in advance for tapping into the forum's vast knowledge bank...:bowdown::bowdown:

With a little research, I found the set including a SK 41" 13 drawer roller cabinet and a 9 drawer top chest at America's Tool Warehouse for $ 9,933.97...

That sounds like a real good price...

Am I right???

Tools only at several sites is $7534.19, then you could pick your own box (Lista? International SHD?)

I was eyeballing that in the catalog too. Looks like a heck of a set. It'd be silly for me to get that since it would give me too many duplicates (sockets, long pattern wrenches, etc). At least that's what I keep telling myself. :lol_hitti

Boomshackalacka! Superkrome SUPERBLING!

:lol_hitti

Same wrenches (mostly) as the first page of this thread (added the flare wrenches, barely visible in the pic). Also included pics of the socket/ratchet drawers. 1/2" drawer is all SK except the angle gauge and the speeder. 3/8" and 1/4" drawer is probably 95% SK... a few oddballs here and there.

I was on the fence about this one and the Wright version. I have not seen the Wright one in person but this SK is so smooth. I am really happy with it.

I put it on a 21 mm deep.

Just an update to my previous post about the new 10mm wrench I received as a warranty replacement. I contacted SK and told them I was not happy with the chrome finish on the new wrench and they quickly responded, giving me a UPS preprinted label in order to send that wrench back, which I did. A few days later I received another 10mm wrench, and this time the chrome was perfect! So they can still make good tools, not sure how the first one got through QC. They seemed interested in that too, which is why they wanted it back. Very Happy with SK tools again.

SK 45173 3/8 ratchet in a 1/4 body.

Nice stuff, I have been meaning to order the larger of those two 1/2" breaker bars... maybe the other as well (at times, I just don't have the space for a 24" bar under a vehicle). Already have the 1/4" and 3/8" bars.

Also, good stuff on the tiny ratchet... been thinking real hard on that one or something similar.

I have that 24" breaker bar. It's nice and beefy and the chrome is perfect. Definitely worth a look if you're looking for a quality bar.

Buddy of mine @ work had a pretty sweat sk 1/2 composite impact, I'll have to take a pic tomorrow. Anyone know if they will get back into the pneumatic tool game again. Wouldn't mind picking one up, pretty powerful. Also I've always likes the look of their wrenches wish I had a need for some more wrench. If so sk would be my choice.

that ratchet is really nice, the switch on the top is slightly loose but the square drive and gear are solid.

the 24" breaker bar is awesome. maybe one day I will buy a 3/4 3' breaker bar.

Bought this little beauty about 40 years ago. All of the pieces are still in tact and the ratchet works perfectly. Paid $18.88 for this 21-piece set. Expensive back then and also by today's prices (Cheap stuff was made in Japan then...who knew).

Made in the USA!!

Don't really like newer tools but this one feels different. Action is smoother than any sk I've ever had. And the knurling is excellent unlike most newer tools.
