Picked up a few interesting cases this week.

The SK Lectrolite appears to be a 3/8 and 1/4 combo set.

Just got this beauty today, some of these 45875 popped up on Amazon for $40, plus I had an Amazon $25 gift card, so $15 out of pocket. This is the Tuff 1 3/8 bent handle flex head. 72 tooth nice and smooth. Flex head is just right in the tightness dept. Discontinued but someone must have had excess shelf stock or something.

I was eyeballing the $40 listing for those, but just can't justify it with already having a SK bent flex, and the hope that SK will finally release the long talked about dual pawl kits for their standard ratchets. Still tempting though...

Ok guys looking to buy into the SK brand. I have some stuff passed down from my grandfather but would like to add more. Where do you guys recommend buying from ?

As above, HJE is great, and SK directly for any warranty issues. I shot them an email about broken latches on a 1/4" drive box to get a part number and price. They got back to me within a day, got my address, told me they were warranty and I had a couple of sets within a week. Excellent service.

No, SK uses the same size blank for 8, 9, & 10mm

Why they couldn't make smaller wrenches, I don't know. I do feel that SK should have just made the set run from 10-19mm if for no other reason than to avoid the why are 8, 9, & 10mm the same length? Issue

The 8, 9 & 10mm being the same size is a bit annoying but it could be they didn't or couldn't shrink the ratchet internals any more, the SAE starts at 3/8" I think so is the same size as the 10mm.

I've never had a bent handle flex head but read about them here. I like the Tuff 1 mechanism, used to have an Armstrong 1/2 index head ratchet that oddly enough had the Tuff 1 mechanism, it was very smooth. This one is the same, I almost can't believe how much smaller the 3/8 head is though.

Is the bent handle flex an American thing or is that common in Europe too? I've never had one yet.

I'm only an amateur but I have never seen a bent handle ratchet in any garage I have ever been in, I'm sure you could get one of the snap on van if you wanted, Euro manufactures don't seem to make them. I like mine, although I have only used it a couple times and not for spark plugs which they seem to be intended for.

Nice!! Does it have a torx screw to adjust the tension on the flex joint? I think newer SK flex ratchets have this but the older once don't. I'd REALLY like to find a bent flex tuff1 ratchet with adjustable tension via a bolt or screw on the flex joint. I have some non flex Tuff1 ratchets and really like them!

That is a mighty fine trio! I would love to pick up the 1/2 set, it is the only one I could justify buying. I have pieced together 98% of the content of the 3/8" and 1/4" sets, just missing those green cases, and a few metric sockets.

Oh I just remembered I finally finished this set of RP wrenches. I did find it odd that they did not seem to make an 11/32" but I think I will get by.

I just found a few of those that belonged to my dad and grandpa. Not near a full set. Who know what happened to them. They don't look as good as those.

Cool, it's great to have tools with a known history. I did have a few of the wrenches that did not make it into the set due to condition. They ended up at home in a mixed beater set I have hanging on the wall.

Does any of you SK fanatics know the history of the "blue" socket set cases?

I have two of these, model number 94522, 3/8 sae set. I acquired the first one as a going away present from a job in college. The second I found on craigslist. It is a handy set for the pickups but am thinking of selling one or both so I can get a SK sae/metric set to replace them. My other SK sets have always been in the "green" cases, just always wonder what the deal was with the blue ones. If they are something special maybe I will just keep em.

As the American Pickers would say, I fell into a honey hole today. Stopped at a random garage sale and the guy had worked for S-K all his life starting in the Lectrolite era. Much of the stuff is NOS. 4", 6" & 8" adjustables; 1/4 to 3/4 Wayne combos, missing the 1/2", a few DBE's, pliers, my first red handled screwdrivers and some used misc. It wasn't cheap but I didn't balk

bobcatdan - reminds me I went to buy a set of those S-K angle wrenches advertised for $40 on CL one time. Blurry picture so I called and specifically asked if they were S-K and the owner said YES. Got there and they were SUNEX that he bought off the S-K truck. I said no thanks not what you said and walked out of his garage.

Friggin awesome. For giggles and grins put a 4 foot pipe on the 3/4 and cranked down a nut till the bolt snapped. Absolutely no issues at all, the swing angl has come in handy as well. Love them.

I was curious myself on the X-frames.

I have a variety of different shape and length ratcheting wrenches so, the fact that the SK X Frame has a zero offset boxed end is ok by me. What I really like about, them and what sets them apart from other ratcheting wrenches is:

1. The super fine tooth low ratcheting arc box end. Smooth, quick, & tough.

2. The modified open end. It grips and doesn't slip.

3. The nice thick beams, no knife edges cutting into my hand.

They may not be for every situation, and people seem to have wanted more from SK's first ratchet wrench introduction but, they have quickly become my reach for first wrench. I didn't like the wait for their release but, I'm happy I bought them.

For anyone that has a longing for those BEACH boxes talked about/shown on here, I'd bet those were made by beach........look closely at that front cover and drawer handles.

Bump to the top- here's an SK # 4246 "MiniMaster" SAE Drive set I picked up off CL. Exact fit in the drawer of my upper Waterloo toolbox. Took the wrapper off, this one's a keeper.
