Ryan,

Did you install of the the LISTA cabinets and storage wall yet? Don't hesitate to call for some guidance, especially when you tackle the storage wall.

Regards,
Joe

Not yet. Lots to do before I get to the fun stuff.

Got a little windy last week hope you had no damage to the build. I had several neighbors sustain major damage to a horse arena and a garage.

I lost about 10 trees, but no building damage thankfully!

The floors are to me just perfect. Just the right balance of refined finished look and that hey this is a workshop you know. So I see this is just a shade under 1300 Sq/ft. What would one to expect to spend to have something like this done? Do you think this is a fairly easy enough product to use for a DIY project? I'm probably going to be right in the 1800-2000 sq/ft range.

The building is 1280 square feet... And we used about 5 gallons. I think that's about $350 worth of product.

Very nice!

Looks like you need a little weatherstripping under that double door in the last shot. ;)

I took the weatherstripping off while we were doing the floors so I could close them and not mess up any wet sealer.

Just saw the reference to your original build and using the Legacy Industrial finishing. Looks great, I will have to put that on my wishlist!

The Atomic Shop looks great. I love the sheen on the floors. The dark metal and white insulation just fit perfectly. I like it a lot. Can't wait to see the arrangements of the tool boxes and workbenches. It would be really nice to have that kind of space. I would also want a real nice parts room and possibly a tool room. That is indeed a very fantastic build and will be a great shop!!!!
Congratulations and Best Regards

Shop looks great. Floors look really nice. I'm planning my new shop at the moment. Who did your metal frame work and siding? What height are the walls? I'm leaning toward a 30x40 with 12' walls with 2 OHD's on the side wall like yours.

You don't wanna use the guy I used. Awful.

14' foot walls.

I've wanted to add an epoxy coating to my garage floor. Do you ever worry about if it's been raining and driving the car into the shop that the tires won't stick to the floor?

I see in your third picture you have the mez up with beam. So to finish up the beam thread, how did you solve the sagging beam?

How high is the ceiling, 10'?

14' walls with an 8/12 roof pitch. I think it's right at 28' to the peak. It's... uhh... tall...

Not at all... In my opinion, epoxy is a pretty great floor... The only thing I figure that would be better for my needs would be a ceramic tile floor, but I didn't have the budget...

As it turns out, there was no sag... It was just the floor... I've never been happier with my ****** concrete guy! :)

We've been working like mad the last week. Framing is all done, electric is close, and now we are hanging drywall. Trying to get it all done before I have to rent this damned lift for another week!

I've been terrible about taking pictures, but here's a few... Note that we decided to run the 2x4 framing flat against the steel framing in an effort to save some dough. It caused some minor complications when running electrical, but worked out really well and we used way less lumber.

I know it's not worth the aesthetics vs cost but man, wouldn't those light fixtures look incredible with Edison bulbs?

That might not fit the style, though, as I see some NEW Lista boxes. I'm interested to see how it gets finished out.

Looking good, man.

They would totally work with the look I'm going for... and it would look incredible, but ultimately, this is a working shop and I night good light... dammit!

Calling it quits to go drink some beer... But got some good stuff done today. Drywall is now entirely hung and ready for mudding and electric is pretty much finished as well. I found some t8 fixtures on closeout at my Home Depot for only $25 each, so I bought three to go under the loft. I also temporary powered the building just to see how bright the CFL's were gonna be... They cast shadows in the shop in the middle of the day - good enough for the girls I go out with...

How did you hang the drywall on the gable ends? Seems like more height than the average drywall lift can manage.
