Wow you did a great job on that foot plate I almost don't believe you! Hats off and thanks for sharing.I am not addicted to DeWalt tools but I do have a few of them. I just finish rescuing a DeWalt #384 circular saw (8-1/4") that my son found in the trunk of a car traded in at the dealership where he worked. If it was a cat it would have already used 11 of it's lives.
It had been well abused, judging by the way the shoe was bent like a potato chip it was probably dropped off of the second story a few times. The exterior was covered with gobs of sub floor adhesive and the inside was filled with stone dust. The motor housing had "junk" written on it in red marker. It looked at me with sad eyes so I decided to give it a chance to work again.
It did run and my son used it a few times but found it just too heavy for his liking. I took it completely apart, cleaned everything and blasted all of the aluminum parts with glass beads. All the bearings and electrical parts were good although I did have to spend about an hour using my shop press to straighten out the shoe base. She cleaned up very well, now all I need is a new blade.

Does anyone know when the new 18v to 20v Max adapter will be available?

I was able to use HF 20% coupon on 5 so I got them for $100.
Is this something HD will normally do?
I've had both and I don't think so, but you could take your handle down to the local big box and try it out.Anyone know if the old Metal Handle for the drills fits the newer Brushless drill? The DCD995 comes with a new black plastic handle. Just wondering if they are interchangeable.

. It's barely even out yet.^that impact will dominate your lug nuts. I have the old 18v xrp version and it works very well on lugs. I have a track car that sees tons of wheel changes with it. The newer one has almost twice the torque!
The new XR 1/2" is so much overkill that I'm holding out for the new brushless 3/8 which I'm hoping will be a good fit for lugs and more useful otherwise.
Toolfanatic...how is the power on the new 1/2"? Lug nuts every time? I have the 3/8 brushed, won't always do them.
