Your drill press came out so nice it makes me want to redo mine... I should have done a better job on polishing the shaft with a buffer and I got a run in the paint on the back corner that haunts me...

Well I got the first project that I wanted to do with the DP done.
I have wanted to make a custom bit holder for my craftsman tray. I searched online and no one made anything close to what I needed.
Setup and tested a few test whole on some MDF that I had laying around and once the depth and bit were perfect, I cut a piece to size. The layout is 1/2 inch on center with 120 holes. Each one was center punched and drilled 3/8 inch deep.

Well done on the bit holder. I tried that before but yours looks much better than my attempt. What spacing did you use? I like than hobby vise. It looks very versatile.

Not a garage post by this is why we have nice work area's, so we can use them. The wife took the kids for the weekend and my Xmas present to her was swapping our old ugly florescent lighting in the kitchen for some LED can lights. We have a 49 by 49 inch 4 inch deep square in the middle of the kitchen that holds the old lights. the plan is to open up the area and add 4 6" can lights. I also added one by our oven. When we have the kitchen remodeled I will add some above the floating counter too.
This is what I started with.

I tested them before mounting all the cans and its a good thing. One of the lights had a loss connection and didn't light the rest of them. I made a huge mess and I still need to do the crown molding and paint.

Well its been a while and nothing new with the garage, but the back yard is coming together and the kitchen is about to be remodeled. I did have some work to do on my mountain bike. I have 2 races coming up in the next month and my back wheel has been breaking spokes more often than I like. So it's time to re-spoke the wheel. I ordered 32 new cx-ray spokes and set to work striping the wheel down. Then I set it up on the bike with a gauge and set about changing every spoke.
I stress relieved the spokes with a rubber coated handle as I went and trued the wheel at the new spoke. I spent 2 hours the first night and 2 hours the second but the wheel is true to +-.002 and each spoke has been bent around the others perfectly.
The reason I keep breaking spokes. The chain had wandered in them at some point in a previous life.
Wheel taped for tubeless, rotor install/trued to +- .001, cassette on, tire back on and checked for leaks. Time to clean the bike and go test out my handy work.

An expensive respoke at $3 per spoke! But they are excellent quality
Shiny new bike parts. My front ring has about 1500 miles on it and was starting to look pretty tired. Sram stuff sure wears out fast. Anyway its a good reason to get something from absolute black thats lighter and blue!
Swapped and mounted and 50 grams lighter.
After 2 rides. wearing down just as fast as the oem stuff. Chain is still way in under .75.

That's a great idea, that I'll be borrowing! At first I thought your pictures were upside-down!I built some rails to get my hobby vise and saw out of the way. This was in addition to fixing the fence that the storm knocked over.

Thanks. Been super busy and meaning to update everything I have been up too. I Just finished a full Kitchen remodel and that has taken all my time for the last several months.
Ill sit down soon and give the full story. Here is a gutted picture.

He's alive. LOL Now that you mentioned it I finally made that system I was hinting about on my thread. Looks like you got one hell of project going there.
The kitchen has been taking all my time and it's 99% done so i'll share some of the progress. This whole project started because my wife wanted a bigger oven and the only way to do that was start fresh. We also wanted the sink centered on the window. The plan is to get some bar stools when the kids get bigger.
First we gutted everything and moved the plumbing so the sink could be exactly in the middle of the window.
Next I built a platform out into our play room. This was an unused space with the steps. We also move the heater vent to the side.
I temped up a counter top and reinstalled all of the appliances.

Thanks guy. Spent some time organizing the garage this weekend and putting away all the holiday decorations.
The floor was the next phase of the project and my wife wanted the playroom done at the same time. We decided to match the existing oak 2 inch hardwood. Little did I know just how big a pain in the **** glue down was. My cousin came over to give me a hand, so that helped alot.

The start of the kitchen and nailing it down. So much easier and I had organized the remaining boards by length. I spent a lot of time sanding to get a level surface. We had a couple sagging spots that could only be fix from under the house. As I was going down to reinforce the floor one battery died so I had to line up the boards swap batteries and then screw them in. Not a fun day, but it's done and turned out great.

Magic it's done. Well 7 12 to 14 days and easy breazy we have a great matching floor. enjoyed a couple guinness to celebrate.

I used door molding for the rest of the house when we moved in, so I picked up some more of that. I like the solid wood and the price difference is worth it with the kids beating on it.

I've been bashing my SC10 for over a year and decided it was time to monster truck it. First thing I need was some tires and a body. Then I found that wheelie bars where a requirement too. 50mph on 2S and it eats up rough terrain.
I also add a mamba monster X to better handle the load. the SCT wasn't cutting it.
Truck is tough as nails. I handed it off to my father in law and he promptly panicked running it into a concrete wall at full throttle.
50mph to zero with full power grenaded the rear differential, broke the center support along with the battery hold down and shifted the motor forward messing up the spur gear. 2 hours later It was back up and running.

With the kitchen all done it was time to move to the yard. We are reclaiming a 17 by 22 foot area that was fenced off and had a 5 foot drop. The plan it to build a retaining wall, level it and put up a fence.
How it looked last month
All tore up.
And Done.
I spread a bunch of grass seed and we are going to put privacy screens on top of the fence. The plan is to install a play structure in the new area.

If the fill around that big dark tree trunk is more than a few inches deep, it's probably going to suffocate the tree, You can excavate around the trunk and put blocks around the hole to give it some air or cut it down when it dies. Finally got some garage time. Cleaned up a little and did some maintenance on the motorcycle. Three weeks ago I went of for my first long ride in forever. Got some lunch and headed up to the top of Mt Diablo. 
It was a beautiful day, but when I got on the bike to head home it wouldn't start. Okay no problem it's all downhill and I can pop start it. We lights where extra dim and it stumbled on part throttle. So i nursed it all they way back into town before it finally died. Tried AAA, but that's a special package so, phoned the wife to come get me. Pull the battery, charged it up and went back for the bike before the rain came. Long story short triumph has problems with their regulator rectifiers. Picked up a better one and put it in last night. Who knows how long it's been bad. I always keep the tender charger on so it could have been months. Along with the rectifier, I picked up a cheap volt meter to keep tabs on the charging system.

Gauge setup. Blue matches the stock gauges too.

Truck is tough as nails. I handed it off to my father in law and he promptly panicked running it into a concrete wall at full throttle.
Nice truck mate, I upgraded my BD8sc with a new esc motor combo to handle the twin 2s setup
also picked up a new shell for it, the thing is crazy fast

After much love and lube she's all cleaned and ready for action. 
Its been awhile. I've been super busy with the family, but a new bike has been ordered so I have to find space to put it. Garage time!
I've been wanting to build up a 29er+ for some time but the parts didn't exist. Well they finally starting making the tires. The only problem is they are not available in the USA yet. Thank you internet and google translator, tires are on there way from Germany. Most complete bikes are not setup the way I want them and I was able to save money by building it myself.
First step order everything.
Super wide wheels. My uncle got me a great deal on these.
Fox 34 in 130mm with digital pump thrown in. Super happy about that.
GOLD. because why not. XX1 eagle 12 speed.
Damn that cassette is massive.
I have been scouring ebay for a XXL frame and finnly found a killer deal on this battleship gray one.
Unfortunately the rear axle was just a hair out of alignment. a little carbon filing and she is perfect.
